message 7501: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments The thief is a respected character class in Dungeons & Dragons, so yeah, I'd say so.

TPBM actually knows somebody with the last name Machete.

message 7502: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I don't, sadly. Knowing someone named Machete would be awesome! :)

TPBM loves twinkle lights.

message 7503: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments In the right place at the right time.

TPBM sometimes laughs at things that the people around him or her do not find funny.

message 7504: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Only when I'm with distinctly ill-humored people, or watching a movie :)

TPBM likes walking through old book shops but never knows what to buy.

message 7505: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I love walking through old book shops! And I trust my intuition to guide, by 'listening' for a book or books to call out to me to be rescued. This has worked extremely well for me, and have had many fantastic reads doing this.

TPBM loves re-reading some of their books.

message 7506: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (last edited Mar 03, 2016 09:35PM) (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments James of Schiaparelli wrote: "Only once. And that was enough to make sure I never go again.

I know how you feel about ice skating James. I went once and had a bad experience. I actually got a strange injury after falling a small few times. The doctor claimed something had pierced me into the side. Not surprisingly the area was infamous for some gang activity so by that I'm guessing someone tried to "ice" me. :) Just kidding but I did get hurt.

Yes, Grace I feel that way. At South Street I felt like that which was a shame as that store was closing down. So many books... such a missed opportunity.

Whoops didn't see your comment Guy, you beat me to it!

I do like to re-read books but only sometimes.

TPBM prefers either books or e-books but not both.

message 7507: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I re-read books constantly. Not necessarily the whole book, just my favorite scenes :)

And I don't really have a preference either way for book formats. I like the huge selection of cheap and free ebooks, and how portable they are, but I also love thumbing through the pages of a good 'real' book as well. Both have very different aesthetics, but in the end it's more about the words than the format :)

TPBM really likes tigers.

TPBM is considered atypical in some way by their family.

message 7515: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments being odd is a bit of a badge of honor in my family, so yes, but not at all in a bad way :)

TPBM loves building things.

message 7516: by Martha (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments I have though I should get more in the habit lately. Have not been doing so and would love to get back to it again.

TPBM loves to enjoy the simple things in life.

message 7520: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Simple things, complex things... Life can be pretty fun, I just like enjoying it in general :)

TPBM likes melodramatic lighting in movies.

message 7521: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments Never thought of that before. I guess so.

TPBM loves to watch live plays.

message 7522: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I've only ever seen one, but I really loved it. It would be awesome to see more :)

TPBM has stronger feelings about historical politics than present-day affairs.

message 7523: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not really. I have engagement with both, as the past informs the present.

TPBM enjoys doing simple chores like shopping.

message 7524: by Mahlia (new)

Mahlia Yes, definitely! I hate things that require a lot of thinking or that are complicated, I'm not good at that

TPBM loves watching the Presidential Candidates debate.

message 7525: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments Not particularly. If I wanted to see that many grow men fight each other, I'd watch WWE, which I already do.

TPBM enjoys taking artistic pictures of toys.

message 7526: by Lee (new)

TPBM went to the market today?

TPBM hasn't been sick in a while.

message 7529: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments Not in a long time.

TPBM would read a story about a toximancer (a wizard who controlled poison).

message 7530: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Only if it was well written and I heard it ask me to read it when I was walking past it.

TPBM loves to use metaphor.

message 7531: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Yes! I'm still learning to use metaphors properly, but they can make stories so rich and awesome :)

TPBM loves library sales.

message 7532: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I used to. Now I have too many books and my tastes are to esoteric to find anything at them.

TPBM organizes his/her books by category/classification not author.

message 7533: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments My books defy organization of any kind, though I do try to lump my favorite authors close to one another...

TPBM has a particular classic that they're excited to read this year.

message 7534: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments In a sense two or three, but not conventional or currently popular classics. I'm reading The Discourses by Epictetus and the various writings of Chuang Tzu, such as Wandering on the Way: Early Taoist Tales and Parables of Chuang Tzu.

TPBM is excited that there is someone else on this planet besides him or her self who enjoys philosophical writings and musing.

message 7535: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments A number of them! But one that comes to mind is to read Frankenstein after reading Dracula I think back in January...

Sorry.

message 7536: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I have, but I'm not a huge fan.

TPBM prefers the Old Bloom County Comics to Farside.

message 7537: by Grace (new)

TPBM has strong feelings about fandoms.

message 7538: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not really; I'm neither a fan nor an anti-fan. The phenomena is interesting, but I've not caught the fan bug myself.

TPBM enjoys the beautiful simplicity of Japanese water colours.

message 7539: by Marie (new)

Marie (naturechild02) I admit, I am not familiar with that many watercolor artists. My favorite Japanese artist would have to be Yoshitaka Amano. His unique style captures my imagination.

TPBM is amassing a collection of indie paperbacks.

message 7540: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments At the moment, I have three... Searching for Darkness by Leah Ward, Missy Sippy River Saloon (I forget the author's name) and Strife of the Mighty by Julius Bailey. It'd be fun to start a whole collection, though :)

TPBM can never bear to delete old drafts of their writings, even the most terrible ones.

message 7541: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! That was true, but now I thank them for what they gave me at the time, and let them go.

TPBM sometimes talks to inanimate objects as if they had feelings.

message 7542: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10164 comments I swear and scream at my computer every time it freezes or malfunctions. My niece Reina always tells me that my computer doesn't work because I hurt its feelings. Hehe!

TPBM believes there’s nothing disrespectful about wearing a T-shirt to a concert that represents a band different from the one playing onstage (I once saw someone at a Rammstein concert wearing a Nirvana shirt).

message 7543: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Yeah, I really don't see anything disrespectful in that. It's just advertising your love for music, which is why you're there in the first place. Although if I had a band shirt for the band playing, I'd probably opt to wear it :)

Also, Rammstein concert? That sounds awesome.

TPBM loves Ray Bradbury.

message 7544: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No. Not a fan, although I'm not sure why not.

message 7545: by Marie (new)

Marie (naturechild02) I have read Animal Farm and 1984 and yes, I enjoyed his work immensely.

TPBM still has their favorite toys from childhood.

message 7546: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Lots of stuffed animals. I can't rid of them, it would hurt their feelings :)

TPBM is/was homeschooled. (Did I ask that already?)

message 7547: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not at all. I was home disciplined into submission, though, which was a schooling that has taken 35 years to remove from my being.

TPBM has only a few items from their childhood, having left most everything behind when they left home.

message 7548: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments Haven't graduated high school yet, so I'm still at home. I'm planning on taking pretty much everything with me when I do move, though :)

TPBM has read the epic of Gilgamesh.

message 7549: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Can't say I have.

TPBM thinks that the Batman v. Superman trailers seem very disjointed.

message 7550: by Grace (new)

Grace Crandall (gracecrandall) | 299 comments I'm so excited for that movie! The trailers might be a little disjointed I guess, but in a manner I really enjoy :)

TPBM constantly pushes themselves to enjoy books and films outside their usual realm of interest or enjoyment.
