I'm at 3/4 with "Cry Wolf" by Patricia Briggs (UF), "A Single Shot" by Matthew F. Jones (new author) and "Abandon the Night" by Joss Ware (Fantasy). One more UF to go (probably going to be "First Drop of Crimson" or a Cat and Bones book by Jeanine Frost).

Well, I finished at least three of the books in the categories... the new fantasy author wasn't really completed. I read a bunch of new UF authors, but I just couldn't seem to find a fantasy to get into. So this challenge was a sort of complete, but strictly looking at the rules... not quite.

You could read The Curse of Chalion. Or read it (or her other series The Sharing Knife) for the next challenge. I strongly encourage all to read Lois McMaster Bujold!

The Curse of Chalion isn't Bujold's easiest to access series. There's a lot of world building and character backstories and politics. I love them! Her Beguilement #1 of the Sharing Knife is easier -- but it's also her series with the most romance. Both of these series are fantasy. Her Vorkosigan series is science fiction. The first book in that series is Shards of Honour or The Warrior's Apprentice.
