I'm reading a lot this month! "Little Birds" by Anais Nin, "Forests of the Night" by James W. Hall, and hope to finish "Agnes Gray" by Anne Bronte
Lauralynn wrote: "I'm currently reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Love it!!!!"Then you will be reading what the neo-cons claim is their raison-d'tre, the reason that they truly believe that the poor are that way because they are too inferior to be rich. Therefore there is no need to care for them, or to supply them with any aid of any kind, because they are weak and should die.
I'm reading "Diary" by Chuck Palahniuk, "Ensaio Sobre a Cegueira" (Blindness in Portuguese) by José Saramago and "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. a lot, I know haha :)
I started reading Not for Packrats Only by Don Aslett. I am moving soon and am trying to get rid of as much clutter as I can.
I finished Pride and Prejudice just two days ago and then started re-reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.
Katie wrote: "I'm reading a few different books all at once. I decided to go for some of the classics - Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Stevenson as w..."Cool! how are you likeing Pride and Prejudice, I recently finished it.
I'm rereading 'Her Fearful Symmetry' by Audrey Niffenegger. I'm almost finished and unsure of what I will read next but I'll figure it out some time today!
And now I'm reading The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe. I just started it today though, so I couldn't tell you if its good or not.
I just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy, which was horrific and beautiful, and now I'm rereading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland / Through the Looking-Glass to take the edge off.
Lyndsey wrote: "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll"Me too! The movie made me want to reread it...
Akjeepgirl wrote: "I just finished The Well and The Mine by Gin Phillips. Such a beautifully written book, I couldn't put it down. I just started reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy and am completely taken by it."Yes-- just finished The Road! I absolutely loved it, but was afraid to read it at night because I thought I'd have scary cannibalism dreams.
Brianna wrote: "The Book Thief."One of my absolute favorites! I've been telling everyone I know that it's the best book I've read in the last ten years.
I'm currently reading two books: The Eight by Katherine Neville and The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende
Brittany wrote: "I'm reading "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad"such a great book! I remember reading it in high school and then watching Apocalypse Now to understand it even deeper. One of my favorites! Might need to do a reread.
Haley wrote: "The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley"such an amazing book. One of my friends gave it to me several years ago and swore I would love it. I still do and need to reread it again!!
Wanted to let you all know that I finished One True Thing by Anna Quindlen. I enjoyed it; Quindlen's way of writing can be funny on one page and heartwrenching on another page. Now I am reading Are We Rome? by Cullen Murphy.
I finished The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson this month. I found an English copy on my first day of vacation. A great surprise find!
Winter's TaleI'm currently reading "Winter's Tale" by Mark Helprin. I've read a lot of books about New York City, but this is the first book I've read that's actually making me look at the city in a different way. I can't leave my apartment without seeing something that reminds me of one of the characters.
Leslie wrote: "I have a few books going on right now: Look Me In The Eye by John Elder Robison (a memoir about a man who lived most of his life with Asperger's Syndrome undiagnosed), the Kingdom of God is Within ..."Watership Down was my favorite book from junior high, and have read it numerous times even as an adult. I loved it!
Right now, I am reading Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski. It is essentially an autobiography, but was published as a work of fiction since the main character has a different name. I adore this book, because Bukowski is so disgustingly honest and real.
Good Morning :) I have several reads in the works at the moment, but am putting most of my time toward Phases of Gravity, by Dan Simmons.
I'm reading "Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger this month. I also just finished "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" as well as "American on Purpose" by Craig Ferguson.
i just finished reading roald dahl's "two fables" and anna gavalda's "i wish someone were waiting for me somewhere". i'm currently reading "going bovine" by libba bray.
I'm reading The Meaning of Wife: A Provocative Look at Women and Marriage in the Twenty-first Century by Anne Kingston. Another Women's History Month inspired selection!
I've been reading the Percy Jackson & The Olympians books. I'm currently on the second one, The Sea of Monsters, by Rick Riordan.
