Definitely order the third! I bought mine from the UK and it came in a week.

message 252: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Yay!!! It makes me want to read them again... Oh the magic of Alexander

message 253: by Viola (new)

Viola | 58 comments Okay, you guys have me convinced! I'm going to order the third one tonight. So, without spoiling anything, you weren't disappointed with book 3 or the ending?

I have a feeling I'll be done with Tatiana and Alexander tomorrow or Wednesday. What will I do until The Summer Garden arrives??? :(

So excited!

Take a break, reread favorite passages, pick up a light read... :)

message 255: by Noreen (new)

Noreen (noreenodo) | 4 comments Definately get #3. It is the culmination of their life - how can you resist knowing how it went. It was beautiful and heartbreaking. You will probably want to kill Alexander at one point in the book, and the ending was maybe too rushed, but there are not many books out there like these.

I so agree

message 257: by Viola (new)

Viola | 58 comments I finished Tatiana and Alexander as well as The Summer Garden. I admit though; I skimmed half of The Summer Garden. I couldn't help it! I'll comment on another thread. Right now, I have mixed feelings about The Summer Garden. Kind of glad I read it. Kind of wished I hadn't.

Silvana~Duchess of Avonlea~ | 11 comments Well I’m half way through A & T so I placed an order on Amazon UK for The Summer Garden because I’m not a patient person. So that’s what’s next but I wanted to mention a movie trailer I just watched on utube for Spring 1941. So if you’re in need of a little reading break but are on a World War two kick try this out. I thought the trailer looks good and I get the impression that blackmail is involved so that’s promising. Lol

This looks good and I can stream it on Netflix.

message 260: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Wow that does look good... I'm guessing it's out. I never get to watch any movies :) I'll look for it!

message 261: by Viola (new)

Viola | 58 comments Yes, it has Joseph Fiennes in it, right? He has been my boyfriend FOREVER! :) I have it in my Netflix streaming. May watch that tonight!

I REALLY want to read this one. My library doesn't have it. I might have to get this one on my husband's iPad.

message 267: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments I loved mistress of Rome!!! So much going on... It was hard to find but my MIL got it for me for Xmas!!

message 268: by Mishelle (new)

Mishelle LaBrash (mishalabrash) Mistress of Rome was definate gooder~ One of my faves for 2010.

message 269: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments it sure was one of mine... i could not put it down and i still want to know more about what happened to them :) I know she has another book coming out... can't wait

message 270: by Milena (new)

Milena (love_tea78) | 158 comments I want to read about Vix and Sabina. I think that's what author said in the notes after the book, will be the next story.

message 271: by Mishelle (new)

Mishelle LaBrash (mishalabrash) Its not though~ :(~ The next release is a prequel apparently~ We have to wait on Vix and Sabina.

message 272: by Milena (new)

Milena (love_tea78) | 158 comments I know, I realized it after I saw description of Daughters Of Rome on Amazon:(

Mishelle LaBrash (mishalabrash) :(~ Big time~ Patience is one of the virtues I lack.

Leea | 317 comments Shell wrote: "Its not though~ :(~ The next release is a prequel apparently~ We have to wait on Vix and Sabina."

Do you think she will write a book @ them. I could tell from the moment they me that they were meant to be together :)

message 275: by Milena (last edited Jan 15, 2011 10:13AM) (new)

Milena (love_tea78) | 158 comments In my copy of the book in the afternotes this what it says : "Thea and Arius will find their mountain and raise their family in peace, so their story is done. But Sabina has an interesting life ahead of her, and Rome is not done with Vix either". That's why I though there will be a book about them. Hopefuly we don't have to wait to long!!!

message 276: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments can't these authors write any faster :)
Does anyone know if Ms. Simons is working on anything right now? I've only read BH trilogy - none of her other books.

message 277: by Mishelle (new)

Mishelle LaBrash (mishalabrash) I haven't heard great things about her other books, Leea. I think TBH were the best with the biggest fan base.

message 278: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 549 comments Mod
I;ve heard similar things Shell. There is a thread here about other Simons books and everyone says she should write more of what she knows.

message 279: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 183 comments Oh I enjoyed her other books! The latest two (a song in the daylight & road to paradise) were quite terrible and I definately don't recommend them, however I enjoyed some of her others. Tully I hated the first time but after reading it a few times I've come to really love it, it's heartbreaking. The Girl in Times Square is great and the most similar of her books to TBH. Red Leaves I also enjoyed after a few reads. Eleven Hours was pretty boring and pointless though. Hopefully that helps - I definately wouldn't rule out all of her books!!

message 282: by Megan (new)

Megan | 410 comments To be perfectly honest, after reading some of her other books, I've come to the conclusion that whilst I'm a huge TBH fan, I'm not a fan of Paullina Simons as an author. I'm not a huge fan of contemporary reading, I would LOVE to see her write another historical fiction, as I think she's truly gifted in this genre, but sadly she keeps churning out very similar books...

message 283: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 549 comments Mod
I prefer historical fiction as well. I do wish she would write similar books

message 284: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments I have tully but if you don't like it the first time... I think i will skip it. I mean why read bad stuff when there is so much out there that's great!

I'm going to start April & Oliver by Tess Callahan

message 285: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 183 comments I actually think Tully and April & Oliver are very similar! I just finished April & Oliver, but I prefer Tully.

message 286: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments huh!! Good to know - Thanks Jessica! Do did you like April and Oliver?

message 287: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 183 comments I enjoyed it but found it a little boring and slow, and also didn't really like the ending! That's just my opinion though, I've read some good reviews for it elsewhere.

message 288: by Leea (new)

Milena (love_tea78) | 158 comments I enjoyed April and Oliver too. The book definitely made you think. The ending was little vague and open to interpretation though.

message 293: by Mishelle (new)

Mishelle LaBrash (mishalabrash) I LOVED April and Oliver~ It was very different from my usual read~ But I really, really liked it. It really hit an emotional chord with me.

I'll have to get to Tully soon.

I always love and hate when the ending is vague. It makes me really think about the book. That is it lingers with me while I think of all the scenarios that could be.

On the other hand sometimes I like things to be spelled out.

But with A&O I know exactly what I want to happen so it did. LOL!

Silvana~Duchess of Avonlea~ | 11 comments After downloading a sample of Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn on my Kindle I wanted to recommend a similar series that many of you might enjoy. A Voice in the Wind (Mark of the Lion, #1) by Francine Rivers Great Cover Art!

message 298: by Leea (new)

Leea | 317 comments Well i finished April and Oliver - it was okay! I hated the end it left me yelling "no, that's it... UHH"

So i read The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins and loved it, no real "romance" but it's non stop. I'm almost done with Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins and have the next one Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins waiting on my night stand. I put off reading this series because everyone was so into it... I can see why it's really good - even without "romance ;)"
