I finished
. I really liked that one. I'm hoping the Breed series is one of those that gets better with each book. I'm still working on
, and will probably be starting
after that.
I finally finished
. It was my first book by Jaid Black, and I really enjoyed it. Some parts were a little bit much for my tastes, but I still gave it four stars. I'll have to look for more of Jaid Black's novels.

I'm really enjoying it so far!! I thought the beginning was slow and didn't get good until the main characters met.

Awesome!! Sounds great!! I'm having a fast/slow/fast/slow probably with it right now... it really should NOT take me 3 + days to read this book!

We probably would've finished it by now, if we spent less time on goodreads, LOL!

Michelle wrote: "I finished , and even though it lulled a bit in the middle for me, I loved it! Five stars!"I finished it this afternoon. I had a bit of a problem with the fact the parents of all the high school kids were so totally oblivious to everything that was going on. I have read sevearl like that recently. I guess it's a common plot device for YA but it's beginning to bug me.
is a YA too that I'm reading right no and I'm not very far into it yet but so far the parents are actually more than just placeholders in the story. But I may need to take a break from YA after doing a few so close together.

Very inspiring!"people ask me that all the time. i never have a problem keeping them straight because I read several different genres and formats. I never get confused between them. I guess I'm just good at compartmentalizing them all.
I loved
when I read it a few months ago, and have decided to join Megan in reading
. If its anything like Addicted, I'm sure I'll love it.

I have to agree with you about the lack of parental presence in ya books. I've noticed it in movies as well, and find myself thinking "what?!" The Twilgiht series is a good example. I guess its all part of the fantasy, LOL!

Twilight... and Shiver too. Same thing in the L.J. Smith books that I've read as well. Not just the
but
as well.

But us grownups think completely differently I guess. :-)
I like the stories in YA and the various types of novels that come from that genre but I definetly have to do them in small does or they'll drive me crazy. LOL Or at least add some grownup books in between them.
Megan wrote: "Twilight... and Shiver too. Same thing in the L.J. Smith books that I've read as well."Definitely a part of the whole "freedom and we don't need no stinking parents" mindest a lot of teens have that comes out in the novels. LOL

LOL!!!
LOL, probably. But, at least of the YA books I've read recently, Twilight (even though it's mainly just Charlie) is a much better parent (and has more of a presence in the books) then in some of these other YA books (i.e. Shiver and L.J. Smith’s books).
I have finished
and
(loved both books) and am working on
(which I put on hold to read Shiver and Sinful) and after I finish that I will be starting
.
I finished
awhile ago and really enjoyed it. I've also recently finished
a paranormal mystery. It was pretty good, a little on the slow side. I'm now reading

I'm trying to kick a "reading funk" right now. I am currently reading
, which is good, I'm about halfway through, it's just not (so far) as thrilling as I would like right now... which of course is not helping.

It's not romance, but I started reading
because a coworker loaned it to me and I'd like to get it back to her. I have a strong feeling that I'll be in tears by the end.
that's an excellent book Michelle. I'll warn you though, it's a love it or hate it kind of book. There is no middle ground on it, based on all the people I know who read it. And keep an open mind while reading. He throws all stereotypes about God and religion upside down and inside out, which was a big part of why he wrote the book the way he did. He has either an afterword or a forward explaning that.

And keep an open mind w..."Well, I finished reading it. I'm one of those that loved the book. Religious stereotypes were definitely thrown out the window; which I didn't mind at all. Living in the bible belt, The Shack has actually been a hot topic about a year or so ago here, and I've even heard it described as "controversial", so I didn't know what to expect. My feeling is that those who are more traditional in their religious beliefs, may be more likely to not care for The Shack. I was near tears during certain parts. I'm not surprised in the least to see that there is talk of turning The Shack into a movie.
I FINALLY finished
. Good solid read, I gave it 3 1/2 stars. Great ending! The middle was too slow for me, and din't care for the heroine. I will be starting
in order to try to finish the June Challenge.
