Yes, the books can be from a series, and it doesn't matter what number in the series it is.

I'm so in for this, but was just wondering if the paranormal creature has to be the main character? Mainly I wonder because so many of the books have quite a few different species in them. Like would a Sookie book cover vampire, fae, werewolves, and shifters?

Jaime wrote: "Still need to figure out what to read for # 9"
Jaime, have you tried any of Victoria Laurie's novels? She has two series that are a bit "lighter" in tone - The Psychic Eye Mysteries and The Ghost Hunter Mysteries. They're mostly mysteries, but have a little romance.

Martina wrote: Jaime, have you tried any of Victoria Laurie's novels? She has two series that are a bit "lighter" in tone - The Psychic Eye Mysteries and The Ghost Hunter Mysteries. They're mostly mysteries, but have a little romance.
No I havent. I will have to look into those. I am always looking for good series sugestions!
I am worried about one of the books that I have chosen. I putStorm Born as my number 8 book because it mentioned mercenaries. If anyone has read the book can you tell me if I put it in the wrong catagory?
Storm Born is certainly fae, but not so much "mercenaries".For #8, you can try Ann Aguirre. It's sci fi, with adventure and romance and includes everything in that category heading. The first book is Grimspace.
Jaime, I'm not understanding #8, so I can't tell you for sure--I am taking it to mean "aliens/space cowboys, space mercenaries, space adventurers" and not your run of the mill mercenaries & adventurers, because that doesn't really fit the alien/space theme, kwim? Hopefully someone else will clarify. :)If it is a space theme, Storm Born doesn't fit, but if it's any mercenary or adventurer, Eugenie is a mercenary in that book.
Steph--the 2 main characters in Caressed by Ice are a psy and a werewolf. I'm sure there are other side characters who are leopard shifters since they are throughout the series, but I don't remember any playing more than a bit role in that book--anyone else?
I was lots of help, huh? :)
Melissa--I was thinking the same thing about Storm Born, but when I went back and read the description of the book I remembered that in the beginning Eugenie worked for hire as someone who banished demons, ghosts & such--it actually used the word mercenary in the synopsis. :)But that's only if the category allows any mercenary, if it's a space theme, the book doesn't fit.
Token Female Gamer wrote: "I'm so in for this, but was just wondering if the paranormal creature has to be the main character? Mainly I wonder because so many of the books have quite a few different species in them. Like wou..."
Not necessarily. True, there are many books with multiple type of paranormal creatures in it, so its your choice to which category you want to put it in.
Fair enough?

Adressing the mercenaries question, Laura is right. It's supposed to mean space mercenaries and space adventurers.
Sorry about the confusion.

I am not sure if your question got answered, Nichole, but it would definately be angels (I think it still counts as angels if they are fallen ones! lol!). A friend of mine has read it and she described it as being about fallen angels.
Thanks, Carla! I think I already picked something else for that category so I may have to push it to next month. But I love fallen angels...
