January 2010 Reading Challenge
Carolyn-I have heard good things about Dara Joy's books, so I'm really looking forward to reading them. The two I put in the list for this month are the 2nd and 3rd from a series of three, I did just pick up the first one though. Does it matter terribly if I read them out of order?
Ok, I'm in--but too frazzled right now to put together a list. Still--I'm all about the challenge. :o)
I'm not doing well on December's challenge but hopefully I'm in for january. I'll have to work on my list.

Link to My Challenges & Lists
I am still working on my list. I have a couple of categories I don't know much about. I am trying to find good ones that are available (and inexpensive) on Kindle. (Thats my ebook reader) If anyone else has good recommendations for Demons/Angels or Hunters/Slayers/guardians or has a Kindle and is doing this challenge comment and/or add me as a friend. :)
I found a couple for Demons/Angels but they are both $9.99 each and I was hoping to find something a little less since Shiver is also about that price and I REALLY want to read that one. :) Trying to save some money or wait for the price to go down on the others :) Thanks in advance!
Iriana wrote: "Yz My only problem is that I dont have any space books. So what do you suggest??"
Cherra's suggestions are pretty good. Since I lean towards romance, out of her list, my faves are Gabriel's Ghost and Parallel Attraction.
I also want to read Ender's Game.

@ Yz the WhyzFor Space/Aliens I think I am going to read "Awaken Me Darkly" by Gena Showalter (Alien Huntress Series) I have never read anything by her before so no idea if I will like it.
@AwesomeveganNalini Singh's Angel's Blood ($6.39 on Kindle) is a good angel book. It's the first full novel in her Guild Hunters series (there is also a prequel novella titled Angel's Pawn, $3.19 on Kindle). The second novel titled Archangel's Kiss will be out sometime in April, I think. I've really enjoyed the story so far.
Peace
Yz the Whyz wrote: [snip:] "...I also want to read Ender's Game."Ender's Game was excellent, I recently finished the audio version.
I think I may try the prequel. $3.19 is a good price. I will check it out. :) Thanks for your help, Mary.
I found a slayer one that sounds entertaining if a bit silly:
$4.79 on Kindle.

Is that werewolves? I thought it was vamps... hmmm I will have to look into that. I have that on my Kindle already and was SUPPOSED to read it for December's challenge (as an alternate). :)
Awesomevegan wrote: "Is that werewolves? I thought it was vamps... hmmm I will have to look into that. I have..."I just read the synopsis of the book and it looks like it encompasses a lot of different paranormal creatures, but the male love interest is a wolf shifter, so she's good. :)

NOTE: I put the number of the book in the series if it isn't first and I noted that one is a prequel :)
Ooooh Blood Engines! I love Love LOVE the Marla Mason series, and wouldn't have discovered it if I didn't get this first book FREE on my Kindle several months ago. I still have Spell Games (Book 4) and Bone Shop (Prequel) to read. I'm going to take my time getting to them, because I read (somewhere) that the author announced his publisher has discontinued the series. BAH! Here's hoping another publisher picks up the series!

I dont know any good authors for that, and just not my thing.. I'm open to suggestions.. I got the rest covered. Or will be when I go shopping with this list in hand..
Heheh

Oh I wasn't trying to say it didn't qualify. :) I think when I bought it for my Kindle I must have thought it was vamps LOL. I have so many I get when they are free or cheap for promotions. I often forget what I have :) Thanks for the info. I was confused :)

I know I'm a little late on this, but The League Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon is also a space themed series.
I'm in, I've never said this before, but I think I'm going to completely wing it with this challenge! Scary!January 2010 PNR Challenge:

(most popular of all weres, our lupine faves deserved their own separate category)

half the time I think it would be better to fill it in as I read because I end up changing half the books anyway for one reason or another. but for some weird reason, I love to come up with my book lists!
Cherra, I know! That part is so much fun! I always discover books I've purchased that I forgot I had, it's a great way to shake up the ol'TBR shelf. Putting together my lists is what gets me all revved up with the excitement that I will need to keep pumped for the month, so I can actually read them all. ;)

I hated that book. I bought it in paperback and never finished it. I think I donated it to my library's used book sale. I've seen some good reviews on here about it, but I could not stand it.
If anyone needs a good slayer book, the Jill Kismet series by Lilith Saintcrow is really great. Book 4, Flesh Circus just came out recently :) They're UF, though, not romance. The first book is Night Shift.

I think I'm going to give this monthly challenge a try. I just have to find a space/alien theme book. I'm trying to get The Host but there's no telling if my library will get it to me on time.

Erin, hope you love Dhampire I have read all but the latest book in the series. She actually seems to have started the "dhampir as hero/ine" phase that's going on right now. At least, hers was the first book I'd seen with a dhampire in it.
