Hi, Al. Does that include his old out of print books? He has written more than 100 in total.

I haven`t read all of them but I have read all of the old novels I could get my hands on. I find them mostly in used book stores. The trick is to remember some of his old pen names.

Welcome to Koontzland Al! We read a Dean Koontz book every month, so you'll have lots of opportunities to re-read your favorites :-) Our June 2011 Group Read is The Dead Town - The fifth and final book in the Frankenstein series. If you've read all the other books in the series, we hope you'll join us.

I just can't do graphic novels. Although I appreciate them, I gotta have a novel. Dean has other stuff that floats my boat too

:-)Welcome to the group Paula! You've probably already heard that Dean is currently working on the 5th Odd Thomas book, Odd Apocalypse and there is an Odd Thomas movie in the works.

I'm Leigh Ann and I live at Koontz Lake (really!) in Indiana. My nephew turned me on to Dean Koontz with the Odd Thomas books. I loved them so thought I'd see what else he writes. I don't normally like series but it was interesting...I'm thinking I'll read Watchers next - start with some old stuff.
I'm excited to hear they're making an Odd Thomas movie!
Also, I love my Nook...

Walter, you are a certifiable Koontz addict and luckily you have found the group able to assist you with your addiction. 11 Koontz books since the first week in April is quite the accomplishment. We have discussion threads set up for many of Dean's books & you're welcome to comment on any of the books you've read so far (if you want to :-) Welcome to Koontzland!

I recently read several books by Dean Koontz and I want to read more. :D My favorite so far is The House of Thunder. :D

Welcome, Angelica. Will you be reading The Dead Town with us this month and joining in our June 2011 group read discussion thereof?

Why not! Thanks for the invitation. :) Will still have to find a copy of the book though. :(

:-)Welcome to the group Angelica!
Well, the good news is The Dead Town should be readily available in bookstores, grocery stores, superstores discount stores, possibly other stores that do not fall into the aforementioned categories and many libraries. If you end up having to purchase the book it's was released straight to paperback so it won't cost you very much.
I haven't read The House of Thunder yet. It's one I'm looking forward to reading.

Thanks! I have limited budget though, so I prefer secondhand books. Haha. And there isn't many Dean Koontz here in the Philippines, either. Haha. But someday I hope I get a copy of it. :p
The House of Thunder is a good read! That's the first Dean Koontz I got, and since then, I want to read more books by him. :D

Wow, everyone's introducing herself all at once! Welcome, Dawn. I haven't heard good things about The Book of Counted Sorrows so far, so I hope you'll create a thread about it and share your thoughts on it. I hope to read it eventually.

Wow..."
It is not like most of his other works of fiction...it is seriously twisted and thats why I love it. I also enjoy the poetry as I do in many of his books. I would recommend reading it, but it is definatley not for everyone :)

I would love to read The Book of Counted Sorrows... If I could only get my hands on a copy :-) Thanks for posting Dawn, Katy and Kandes! Interesting than you posting peoples are D and K's - it would have been even been better if one of you K's names started with an R. to represent Dean R. Koontz :-) but I guess we'll have to ditch the R. since Dean has anyway. Is my imagination getting away from me again or what?

That's impressive, considering he's written well over 100.

Welcome Chuck! I recommend Life Expectancy. Here is the link to our favorites discussion thread and you'll get good ideas there too:

btw, we are reading One Door Away From Heaven in July as a group if you'd like to join us. It is a rather long one :-)

By The Light of the Moon is Amazing! (my second favorite after Life Expectancy) I've read it 3 times and love it so much that I got the title "By The Light of the Moon" tattooed on my right arm. I am going to get "One Door Away From Heaven" tattooed on my left arm at some point in the not too distant future.
The graphic novels are worth looking at :-)

July's group read will be One Door Away from Heaven. The discussion is already ongoing.

You live in one of the four non-Western states that have ever appeared in Koontz's books (at least the 54 I've read so far). :-)

:-) Welcome to the group Stacey Lynn!
Jason of the Borg, 54 seems like an insane amount of Koontz books - are you sure you really read that many? By your calculations, what is the total number of books Dean has written? And what are the other 3 non-Western states?
