Thanks Kateblue!
Overall, Koontzlanders are pretty nice folk. Dean has a new book next week so we always get especially excited around the time of a new release. We'll feature The Other Emily as group read for two months.
We also will be setting up a Summer Group Read. We were featuring one Koontz title every month, but we seem to have less people participating than we used to. I was thinking Maybe a Seasonal Group Read starting this Summer after featuring The Other Emily. The other Emily will be featured through the end of May, so I was thinking the Summer Group Read could be featured during the months of June, July and August.
We could also feature two titles during this period, if y'all need more Koontz Summer Reading.
Below are some titles that we haven't read in a while and some of these have a Summer setting. I'll create a group poll next month, but here is a sneak peak of titles that might be on the poll. Of course, if a series is chosen, we'll have to continue and read the subsequent Frankenstein or Chris Snow books :-)
Everyone is welcome to share thoughts.
Thank you Koontzlanders!
The Husband
Fear Nothing and Seize the Night
Ashley Bell
Shadow Fires
Velocity
Sole Survivor
The Funhouse
The Voice of the Night
Intensity
Life Expectancy
Prodigal Son (and the subsequent Frankenstein Books - one book featured each month like Odd Thomas was recently)

I’m very much for the Frankenstein series 👌. Also I have never gotten around to reading Darkfall and The Sevents of Twilight.
I would be happy to read any of these! I just started the Frankenstein series, but I'm only on book three.

Well, if you've already started and are on book three, you'll be done with the series before the Summer Group Read is even selected :-)

The Servants of Twilight and Darkfall will start showing up on the Group Read Poll by this next Winter. I've been looking at when they were last featured as Group Reads and what time of year the stories are set.
We last read Darkfall in June 2016, story set in December
We last read The Servants of Twilight in February 2017, story has a Feb-March setting.

I just dropped in today to say I got an email thru goodreads saying that there's a new book coming out in January, called Quicksilver. My library doesn't even know about it. Do you think this will be another prime/Kindle Unlimited deal?
I got the email too…..it says it’s showing the cover of his new book so I’m hoping it won’t be only a kindle book!!
Hi Barbara,I went to amazon and it looks like it will be in book form.

All three Thomas & Mercer/Amazon Koontz titles are available as regular books--Devoted, Elsewhere, and The Other Emily. Just a warning, though...if ya visit your local Barnes and Noble to purchase any of these they may be a bit hard too find...B&N doesn't prominently display them when they're new since Amazon, of course, is a direct competitor of theirs.
It's strange. My library has never even heard of this book, and they usually do know long before publication date. So I may not be able to get it from the library. I sure hope it is Kindle Unlimited.
Here I am again, commenting here for lack of some other thread, so I hope this is ok. I come to announce that Amazon has a sale on the US Kindle version of Cold Fire by Dean Koontz for $1.99, and I am not sure how long that will last

My favorites are "Watchers," and "The Face," There are others I really really love but can't think of them right off the bat right now. When I find an author I love that's written a lot of books, I force myself space them out, not try to read too many all in a row. It's more enjoyable that way. Sometimes it's hard to do, though.
Hello Violet. Neat name and welcome to the group. Glad you joined! Dean is an awesome author. He is probably my favorite author ever

Is it the cover that draws you, word of mouth, browsing the library shelves?
I normally research books online, listen to book podcasts/youtube/Discord, when I look for new books.Violet: What other kind of books do you like, anything particular in scifi/fantasy?
I’m Jonathan from Utah. I’m obsessed with Dean Koontz’s books. I’ve read many of his books and own all the print and several out of print editions. He scares me like no one else!

Hi! Linda here. I’ve been reading Koontz for many years. I think there is no one better at “painting a picture with words”. I also think his plot development & character development skills are way ahead of most other writers. He has long been my favorite author.

Welcome to Koontzland, Kenny!
Hi my name is Christina from south central South Dakota. I have been a reader/collector of Dean Koontz for a very L0o0ng time. I have so many favorites but Watcher and Lightening are the top. I read Watchers to my son in middle school. He had a learning disability that made reading unbearable. However, when I introduced Dean Koontz to Robert he never stopped. Often we would search high and low for audio books. Finally watching the joy of a good story I knew Koontz was the author I really admired.
Hello there. My name is Kristen Gunter(22). I am from South Africa and my favorite Dean Koontz book so far is "In the eyes of darkness". I started reading Dean Koontz when I was about 11 years old. I took a break from reading through most of high school but I started again after school. So far I have read Phantoms, Lightning, In the eyes of darkness, Demon Seed, Shattered, Life expectancy, Fear nothing, The vision, Velocity and The funhouse. I'm super excited for Watchers, if only I could find it (can't find it in any stores here). I'm happy to be joining fellow Koontz readers.
Welcome Kristen. Glad to have you aboard. I hope you can find "Watchers" soon. I did a search and found this:https://buybooksonlinesa.co.za/produc...
Best wishes.
Hi Kristen welcome to the group!! Watchers is the 2nd Koontz book I read many many years ago but it’s one of my favorites I hope you can find it soon. Phantoms is the 1st one I read and I have never missed one of his books since!!
Hi guys and gals, I joined for the purpose of asking a question about a Dean Koontz book :) Many years ago I read part of a Dean Koontz book. I now am searching feverishly for it as I don't remember its title. The premise is as follows; (view spoiler)
I hope someone guides me to the correct title.
Introduction :- I am from Mauritius and am reading nonfiction for now. I cried both times when I read Odd Thomas, this happens rarely to me, for novels at least. See you and Happy Reading!! :)

That sounds like From The Corner of His Eye but not exactly. He pushes her off the top of a forest fire watch tower. That’s one of my favorites
