I'm new to Goodreads but am lovin' the concept of logging all of my books on-line for quick reference. Not to mention all the recommendations and reader reviews. Great stuff.
I'm a huge fan of Dean Koontz...or rather I used to be, I spend a lot of my time reading other things these days, but Dean will always hold a very special place on my bookshelves and I often re-read my favourites.
I'm actually dyslexic and didn't really push myself to learn to read until I was around 22 years old. I started slow with short stories and gradually progressed to my very first novel. Which was Dean R Koonts 'The Bad Place'. Reading an entire novel for the very first time in my life was an immense achievement for me, and 'The Bad Place' will forever be the most important book in my library and life.
Anyhoot, I just wanted to say hi to everyone.

Welcome
The Bad Place is one of my top five best Koontz books too
I love that story.....it’s one of his books that left me breathless while reading it.
Congrats on overcoming dyslexia and being able to enjoy reading!!
Barbara

Thanks for the welcome, it's much appreciated.
To this day The Bad Place is an amazing book to me.
One of my next reads is going to be Lightning. I read that one close to its original release date, way back when my reading was incredibly bad, but didn't really take it in. I know it's an incredible book so I have to give it a reread.
Dyslexia was incredibly hard for me when I was a lot younger, these days it's just part of life, but thanks very much for the congrats.

welcome to the group and he has lots to chosse from

welcome to the group and..."
Hi Karen,
I suggest you read stand-alone books before his series.
Enjoy!

I remember really digging Hideaway and Mr. Murder. I don’t know if I ever saw the movie or mini-series. House of Thunder, Lightning... a lot of great books that kept me up too late turning pages! I sort of dropped off with Odd, it just didn’t do it for me. Maybe I’ll try again. I picked up the Frankenstein series and LOVED i! I’ve been looking at it and am a little confused about how many books there are. I thought I started with the first but now it looks like there is another on, I dont know.
I’m going to read the new Hawk series, it looks good.
Well, here I am now, entertain me 👴🏻😎

Welcome Koontzlanders New & Familiar :-)
Night Chills is the October Group Read
TICK TOCK is the November Group Read
If you're ever wondering which Koontz title to read next, our Monthly Group Read is here with helpful suggestions. We'll be selecting December Group Read during the month of October. Group Read titles are announced a full month in advance to give everyone opportunity to obtain the book.
You'll be getting an email inviting you to vote on the December Group Read Poll soon :-)
Also, if anyone still would like an ARC edition of THE NIGHT WINDOW ( Jane Hawk #5 released in May) I obtained some extra copies from Random House just before release date - I just had too much going on to set up a giveaway at the time. Send me a GR Message with your US Mailing Address if you want a copy.
Thanks & Happy Reading!

Dean Koontz is my go to man. His works are my guilty pleasures in reading because they are so easy for me to follow and enjoy. Glad to see so many appreciators.

The great thing about Goodreads is even if you take a break for a while, we're all still here to continue discussions and threads :-)
I've enjoyed being on Goodreads since 2009. It's a place I can participate on my own terms in my down time.

Welcome to Koontzland Tim!
We feature at least one Dean Koontz title each month so some of those older classics are bound to show up once in a while. I think Phantoms, Strangers and The Mask are among titles that will likely be featured this year.

I'm Brendan, age 30, from the prairies of Canada.
Been reading Mr. Koontz since I was 14. I was at the library one day, looking for something new to read and they had several books by this guy named Dean Koontz and the titles and descriptions seemed intriguing. Read the first one and then read all the ones the library had! Been reading him on and off ever since. I've read around 40 of his books now, I believe.
And if anyone is on Instagram, I'm slowly writing reviews - along with posting creative photos of his books that I've taken - of all his books that I've read so far. Follow along @koontzworld

Welcome to Koontzland Claire :-)
Thank you for joining and posting. We're just finishing up the Odd Thomas Series with Saint Odd in February.
Near the end of next month, Dean's newest novel will be released.
The Other Emily will be featured as a Group Read through March 23 - May.
We have typically been featuring one Dean Koontz title each month, but we have had less activity in recent years so we'll likely be featuring titles less often. Plan on a Summer Group Read after The Other Emily is featured.

My mom loved all of his books and we would read them together. I am more of a SciFi/Fantasy person, and I am in many groups for that. Therefore, I won't be able to spend too much time here. But I would like to read the new book with you all if that's ok.
