Koontzland - Dean Koontz discussion
Welcome to Koontzland!
>
Introduce Yourself (if you want to :-)
Hello, I'm Federico from Argentina. I have been reading Dean Koontz for 7 years. The first book I read was The Taking and the ones I like the most are the ones in the Odd Thomas series. Tick Tock, Life Expectancy and the Moonlight Bay series are great too.Although the last years Dean has become a bit more "extreme" with his religious ideas I still like his books, and consider him one of my top 3 favourite writers.

If I may ask, who are your other favored authors? In addition to Koontz, some of my favorites are Stephen King, Tess Gerritson, John Grisham . . . and several others.

My top 3 is completed with Stephen King and Arthur Clarke. But I like many others: Lee Child, David Baldacci, Stephen Hunter, James Rollins, Matthew Reilly, Neal Stephenson, Jim Butcher...

Hey I'm David and I've read most of the Koontz collection! I also used to collect the original paperbacks from back in the day from all of Koontz's pen names when he first started, but sadly had to downsize my collection when moving.Great to be here!

Hi. I'm Wes, I live in Maine and am 61. I'm new to Goodreads and this group. I have always been an avid reader, but even more so now that I have retired. I have read Koontz for years. I really don't know how many of his books I've read, but there have been quite a few. Sometimes I have to read a synopsis of a book to tell if I've read it before because I can't remember just by the title. It comes with growing old! The most recent one I read was "Sole Survivor". I don't collect the books, and many I have read have been from the library. I am always looking for books at thrift stores and yard sales. I do some reading on my Kindle now, and I also listen to audio books on my iPod when taking my walks. Some of my other favorite authors are Tess Gerritsen, Patricia Cornwell, Robin Cook, John Grisham, Ken Follett, Scott Turow, Greg Iles, P T Deutermann, Michael Palmer, Nelson DeMille. I look forward to participating in the group.

Welcome to Goodreads and Koontzland Wes!
Strangers is our April Group Read, if you're interested in reading that book with others.
Since you are a Tess Gerritsen Fan, you should join the Tess Gerritsen Fans Group (if you want - I also moderate that group :-)

Hello! How exciting to join a Dean Koontz group! I've been a big fan since high school, when my friend introduced me to him by loaning me "Night Chills" to read. And I've been addicted ever since! I do like his older novels better than his more recent novels, with "Strangers" being my favorite (the movie "Identity" reminded me of this book in fact). Thanks so much for having this group! :-)

Thanks for joining us Lynn. We are actually featuring Strangers as our April Group Read if you're interested in revisiting it. Our May Group Read will be The Face of Fear.
Just finished "The Face of Fear" yesterday. Went to Goodwill this morning and found four more Koontz books I haven't read yet!

Some of the threads I received were blank. I never could get what was going up. Thanks and God bless, Renee

Hi I'm Nicole & I'm from South Jersey, I loveee Dean Koontz & have only read three books. I'm re-reading By the Light of the Moon right now. (:
So speaking of novels that's like 3 of 70...not counting nonfiction books and things like poetry here. Sometimes I look at the ones I haven't read (yet?) and I just get tired. He's one of the few writers who can almost write them faster than his fans can read them, LOL.There are a couple of series I wish he'd finish... :)

Welcome Nicole. By The Light of the Moon is one of my very favorites :-) We're reading The Face of Fear this month if you're interested. Which other two Koontz books have you read?

Odd Thomas and Chris Snow?
Odd Thomas and Chris Snow?
Mostly Chris Snow...he said he was halfway through the next book in 2000... My wife was really into these. She passed in 2009, wish she could have finished it.Also there are a lot of his books that end sort of like there's more to come, I guess he means to do that. I'd like to have seen Twilight Eyes have a sequel.
Hello everyone! I am Lacey aka Crazdwriter and I love Dean Koontz. I might have to read the book of the month with you guys because I have never done that before especially since it's Dean. So hi!
