Found it. Nevermind.

Book: The Golden Cup
Series or Alternate: Werner Family Saga #2
Date finished: 04/03/15
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I enjoy these sweeping family dramas, must be my misspent youth reading everything in the library. ;) The book follows an extended family in New York leading up to and into WWI. This book was written in the 80s but because it is historical it doesn't feel as dated as the "contemporary" 80s novel I read just before it. Excellent story, characters great to only mildly annoying.

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 504 comments Three Girls and a Wedding had a slow start. I really got into it about halfway through. I wouldn't have gotten that far, except i was determined to finish it. It was a little different than the first in the series, since it was told from a different characters point of view. I can't wait to start the third book.

Finished 4/5/15
4 stars

message 209: by Berit (new)

Berit I'm almost done with my book, of course I changed books :-) I'm reading Flawless, from the Pretty Little Liars series, it just fit better into another challenge ;-)

message 210: by Berit (new)

Berit Week 3 Flawless finished 3/5 ****
This is definitely a guilty pleasure series, but I will finish it until the end. Flawless the second book in the PLL series picked up right where the first one left off.. I love these girls, for some unknown reason. I just enjoy the drama, the suspense, and the fun of it all! The only problem I have with these books are the parents, they all need some parenting classes, maybe they could get a group rate!

Allison Ann | 502 comments Hey we're over halfway done for the week already. Yay team! Did everyone have a nice Easter weekend (if you celebrate that is)?

Satan's Sword (Imp, #2) by Debra Dunbar
Satan's Sword by Debra Dunbar
Read: 4/5/15
Rating: 4-Stars
Review: This is the second book in The Imp series, which is about a demon bound to an angel. Samantha Martin is totally just "wrong" with all her demon ways and seems to have no idea. There are so many laugh out loud moments in this book as Samantha tries to save her brother from himself. I love her relationship with her normal boyfriend, Wyatt. -- Who she wants to show how much she likes by killing and beheading his competition and presenting this gift to him. (But don't worry, she has moments of enlightenment..). Looking forward to Book 3!

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments It was a weird Easter for us bc we were in the car most of the day driving to Florida. Odd... Not a fan of spring break falling this way - we missed family!

message 214: by Berit (new)

Berit My Easter was nice and quiet, just my kids and my parents and a lot of food :-) driving to Florida sounds like it could be fun, How long of a drive is it for you?

message 215: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments It was about 14 hours altogether but only had about 6-7 of it in Sunday.

I can see how the PLL books can be addictive - my daughter and I watched the tv series!

message 216: by Berit (new)

Berit I watch the show as well, the books are a bit different, enough to keep it interesting :-) enjoy your vacation!

message 217: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments I might have to try out the books then!

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments Im almost done with my book review will be up by tomorrow.

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments @Berit my oldest was addicted to the books. She even talked me into taking her to the bookstore the day it came out for her to get the last copy. I think she is just as addicted to the show. All I keep hearing about is that they finally told who A was.

message 220: by Berit (new)

Berit I think A is different in the show then the books, not sure though! These books are addicting, because there's just so much drama, it is definitely a guilty pleasure :-)

message 221: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments Sometimes you gotta have those! I got sucked into Fallen Creat High that way... LOL!

message 222: by Berit (new)

Berit Definitely, it keeps you sane :-) I'll need to check that one out when I'm done with this one :-)

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments Yep she started not wanting to read the books until; she had more than one of them because according to her the cliffhangers were brutal.

message 224: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments Haha! I bet! Good to know!!

message 225: by Berit (new)

Berit Yes, if you had not watch the show the cliffhangers would be brutal! It is funny to me I probably have read more YA books in my 40s then it any other time in my life :-) this is probably for many reasons one being I have teens, the other being I think YA books are much better now than ever before.

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments The Wicked Will Rise (Dorothy Must Die, #2) by Danielle Paige
4 Stars
Finished 4/8/15

I really enjoyed this one. This one was a pretty good sequel although it started off kinda slow. The middle half of the book picks up and takes off from there though. We really got way more back story on the main characters and it made me understand who they had become more. I can't wait for the next one.

message 227: by Berit (new)

Berit Great job team!

message 228: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 502 comments Way to go team 4!!

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 504 comments I'm so excited for Fridays now. I can't wait to choose a new book.

message 230: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 502 comments Almost Friday!!! We'll probably be in the 30s this week, I should check out my #3 in series. :) I don't think I have many, seems like 3 and 4 are the hardest numbers for me to find.

message 231: by Berit (new)

Berit Well I'm going to read the third book in the PLL series if that's the case :-)

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments Off to look at my #3s in series.

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments We rolled a 6 (3+3) so we moved to spot 31 so we have 3rd in and series and 1st in a series and author letter z.

message 234: by Denise (new)

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 504 comments I'll be reading book three in the series I've been working on Three Girls and a Leading Man

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments I will be back with my book later. I have something in mind but want to see if it can work with Scavenger Hunt also.

message 236: by Berit (new)

Berit I will be reading the third book in the PLL series I'm also starting The Selection, so either will work :-)

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments Oh Berit I loved the Selection series.

message 238: by Berit (new)

Berit I am really excited to start, I have all three books , And the fourth one comes out next month :-)

message 239: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 502 comments I think I'll be reading Die in Plain Sight - Rarities Unlimited #3. I'm not particularly looking forward to it, but it works for this challenge and will also help me finish off my 70s decade for another challenge.

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 847 comments Ok I am going 1st in series with Under Different Stars (Kricket, #1) by Amy A. Bartol .

message 241: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments I have the second book but kind of want to reread Krickets first book again before I read it since it's been awhile.

We have so many choices with 1st & 3rd -- I'm going to ponder for a bit and try to decide!

message 242: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments I'm going to read the third book in the Imp series by Debra Dunbar:

Die in Plain Sight (Rarities Unlimited, #3) by Elizabeth Lowell by Elizabeth Lowell

Book: Die in Plain Sight
Series or Alternate: Rarities Unlimited #3
Date finished: 04/11/15
Rating: 3 stars
Review: This was definitely more enjoyable than the first Elizabeth Lowell novel I read. That one was a straight up romance and this was a romantic suspense, I definitely prefer the love story to be peripheral to the main plot. :) Honestly, 8 hours later I'm having trouble remembering exactly how the book ended, so it clearly didn't make a huge impact but I did enjoy as I was reading. And some of the characters were funny, which is always a bonus.

message 245: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments Dang Allison Ann - You didn't mess around! Done already! Awesome!!

Berit - The Imp serious has an OK story line but really enjoy the humor! Glad you are liking The Selection series! I've really liked the books I've read so far. :)

Allison Ann | 502 comments I always try and read my SS book right away, otherwise I'm apt to forget about it and be scrambling on Thursday night. :D My brain can remember tons of useless trivia and the lyrics to every song ever written in the 80s, but I can't seem to remember to stop at the grocery store on my way to work. Even when I write a note. And am holding the note in my hand as I drive by the store. Because my brain is full of Michael Jackson songs. :D

LMAO!! Hilarious!!!

I usually like to read mine early too for pretty much the same reason - minus Michael Jackson. Ha! I haven't been near wifi yet to download mine but we'll be back home tonight.
