Hi team! Yay new challenge! Now we are four.

Don't think I've "met" any of you yet, so hello. I'm Allison, I live in NW Ontario, Canada where yesterday was spring and today was winter again. :) I love this challenge, I think it is my third round playing. I'll try and think of some names later, but I will always vote for a name with alliteration or a pun and soundly against anything with the words bitches, babes, gals, chicks, etc. I just can't, sorry. I sounds very old and cranky, sorry again. Now I've apologized twice and I sound very Canadian. Not sorry. :D

I live in Indiana and can sympathize with your weather conditions. Today I'm a happy camper with a sunny 75 but on Wed our high is in the 40s...

I'll think on some names tonight and try to offer some suggestions but no promises they will be very creative or inventive.

I totally agree with you on communication! I've played this game twice before and it makes a huge difference when there are some chatty folks on the team. :) Which challenge are you doing right now? I'm a bit of a challenge-a-holic...

I can go with any of the names. I may be partial to Four: A Divergent Team since Insurgent comes out this weekend and Four is wayyyyy hot, but I could easily be persuaded to use another name.

Hello again team and hi to Shy. I work 7 days a week and don't have internet at work, so I'm only usually around in the evenings. I check in super quick in the morning to see what I'm reading, but then I'm gone for 9-12 hours. :D

I'd be happy to be captain if no one else wants to but if someone with a bit more access is willing, I'll vote for them. Same with the names. I kinda like Fab Fours, but I'm cool with the divergent one too (even though YA generally makes me roll my eyes) ;)

What kind of genres do you ladies like to read?

I seem to read mostly PNR, CR and YA, although I usually mix other genres in from time to time. One of my favorite books so far this year is The Martian - which is not something I would typically read so I try to keep an open mind. Although I did try All the Light We Cannot See which EVERYONE loved but I wanted to claw my eyes out I was so bored. :(

Fab four , Is just fine with me. I read a lot of YA, Historical fiction, contemporary, and I'm trying to branch out into fantasy and Science fiction. I plan on reading The Martian, for a buddy read and another group in a few days. . I generally use the app, so I have access at most times. :-) this also sometimes causes my post to be a bit odd, typing on the phone isn't always the easiest ;-) Fab four

I noticed a lot of teams already have their very cute names, all number related, so I really wasn't being all that creative :-) I say you captains can make an executive decision and just name is ;-) also I have a question, the person who rolls comes and lets us know, Then we choose our books, do we report the books here? And also is this the thread and which we post our final reviews? I know for my own sanity I like knowing what everyone is reading, and to be honest that everyone is reading ;-) sorry in advance if I ever come across as bossyh

My kids are similar ages - 18 yrs boy & 13 yrs girl. Have been spending lots of time at lacrosse games so I can relate.

Yes, after the captain (or whoever) rolls the dice, they will post on this thread letting us know what we rolled and what spot we are on, as well as what the criteria is for selecting a book that week.

(Example: if we landed on spot #10, it would say we could read a book that's a first in series, a stand alone, or has a purple cover)

Then, YES, scamper off, pick your book and post it here on this thread again. Cuz you're right Berit, everyone feels better knowing we each have a game plan for the week. Once you're done with the book, you come back to this thread and post:

Your review

Then when all of us have our reviews in, the captain will link to one post and we're ready to roll again when the time comes!

Is your 18-year-old graduating high school this year? My oldest son is, and that is another thing I have going on. Getting him ready for college next year, we've got all but one acceptance letters, now we need to decide. I think he's very lucky he has a lot of choices, Now I'm hoping we get a lot of money ;-)

Yes - chatting & game play all take place here. There is a thread for the captain to post our reviews & new rolls once a week.

I used to bookmark to the most recent post that combined everyone's books & reviews so that's how we kept track of who's were in, etc. As well as if one snuck in and I didn't see it, they could prompt me to link it up.

My son just decided on LMU for college next year (Lincoln Memorial Univ in Tennessee). It's about a 6 hour drive from our house so it sounds much better than the Florida College he was also considering.

He's playing lacrosse in college so that helped him narrow down his decision.

College stuff is crazy though right?!!

All my sons choices are in California. His number one choice Berkeley, which does not notify until the 26th of this month, is up north. So, I really don't know what I want. If he doesn't get in there he will probably end up going to school at UC San Diego, which is only an hour or so away from me.. He was a picture in high school, but is not playing at the college level, the colleges he could have gone to for baseball, weren't where he wanted to go for academics.. All decisions need to be made by May 1, so only time will tell :-)
