Loving Lauren by Jill Sanders

Review:oving Lauren is my first Jill Sanders book, even though I have on my TBR another book of her waiting to read many years now. The truth is that I will read it soon because I enjoyed her writing.
At nineteen, Lauren, our main character, has a lot on her head, especially after losing her father.
Loving Lauren is a cute, quick read about a stubborn woman who doesn't want to lose her freedom and a man who wants nothing more than to show her it's okay to loosen the bands on her control without giving up her freedom completely.
Excellent read, it was not quite what I expected, and it had a couple of surprises to the plot I was not expecting. I liked Lauren, but she does have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Chase is a great character; you want cowboy books, you should read.
My star rating is 3.5-stars.

We have shared reading tastes, Hazel. Maybe we are reading twins.😂😂😂😜😜😜

Review — This book was unexpected. I knew there would be lots of sexy time, but there was also a lot of pain and forgiveness throughout the book. At the very beginning, we see Hemy as a 19-year-old addict who loses the woman he loves because of his bad choices. Fast forward four years later and he’s cleaned up his act...at least where the drugs are concerned. When Hemy and Onyx met again at her friend’s party, it was like a physical blow hearing how much the encounter rocked both of them. Onyx didn’t choose to accept Hemy right away, but there was still some amazing chemistry. As the story went on and Onyx revealed she was holding something back, it pained me that she had to go through possibly losing Hemy. Of course, this is a romance with no cliffhanger, so they found their way to happily ever after, but it was not an easy journey.

you know I'll sign it! ;)

This was good but I was left wanting by the ending. it seemed a bit abrupt and there were a lot of things left unresolved. But, I liked this story of a love that was undeniable but not easy because of their shared pasts.
I wasn't a fan of Nick's character at all. He acted like a spoiled child who was mad that another boy got to the toy he wanted to play with first or something.
Jenna was also a piece of work. It was a lot of drama but I was glad that Brenda and Jay were able to get through it.

There was a lot going on in this one but I liked it. I absolutely hated Skye's mom and she really should have gotten punished. I hate that she got away with everything that she did. I hope that is dealt with in later books.
I'm always so torn with the biker books. They are criminals but I do root for them to have an HEA. Saint and Skye had a long history of connection and it obvious that they were meant to be together. I was only taken aback by some of Skye's behavior when it came to things that happened in the Saint's past. She was a bit unreasonable.
Overall though, the book was good even with the sad moments. I'm looking forward to continuing this series at some point.

Review: A nice, single dad - falling for the neighbour romance. Paul is a cop and moved to a quieter area so he can spend more time with his daughter. Karen manages her parents grocery store and dreams of being a librarian even though she left her degree course 10 years previously. Karen confronts her neighbour and the attraction starts to grow. He doesn’t want to disrupt the status quo with his daughter and cause trouble with his ex. Karen applies to go away and complete her degree and so doesn’t want to get into a relationship. It doesn’t work out like that and then they both agree to a long distance relationship. It was not mind blowing, the big obstacle in the way of their romance seemed to be brushed over pretty easily.

Review — I have missed my Reapers! While this isn’t my favorite book in the series, it was nice to be back in the Reapears MC world. I wish more of the original gang showed up, but this one is set in Washington and not Idaho. Eli and Peaches are an explosive couple...literally and figuratively! Their ongoing feud from childhood hung on until both couldn’t ignore their attraction to each other. There were some really sweet moments between the two and, of course, some seriously hot ones also.

Review:The nineteen-twenties is an exciting era. It had its times, but it also had its good times. The truth is that I picked Wild Women and the Blues because of the book cover. Yes, the book is free now (November 2021), but after reading the summary, I knew I had to read this book.
I felt like reading this dual timeline narrative (the 1920s and 2015) was an immersive experience. The incredible writing invokes all your senses - you hear the jazz, see the flappers dancing, feel the rhythm of the music, taste the bootleg hooch and smell the cigarette smoke wafting through the crowded bars and clubs. While reading the book, I felt like watching a movie.
I loved it! Vivid characters, and though Honoree had a bit of a prickly exterior, it was well-earned and worn. Simultaneously she wore the armor to help with her fierce loyalty towards those she cared about while also taking care of herself and not only surviving but thriving. I loved reading her story.
In my opinion, if you like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo or the 1920s ambiance of The Diviners, you will enjoy Wild Women and the Blues.

Kathy, I counted seven books. We don't have the 8th yet. Would you please tell me if I am wrong?

I'm sorry, but the first edition Kindle page count for this book is 143, the minimum for this challenge is 150. ☹️
You can use the book Sass read in its place, since for this task it doesn't matter where the 8 books come from. You've already read one book so wouldn't need to pass.

I had a look just now Kathy. The edition you picked has the same publish date but doesn’t say it’s a kindle version.

Review: I love the Kelly family. The stories are never boring. I liked this one as it was the story of Joe, the last Kelly brother standing. I liked that we saw Rusty getting more involved and I can’t wait to finally read her story. It has been teased out for a couple of books now and I’m hoping it’s epic as Sean was a bit of a twit to her in this one.

Posting on behalf of Sassafrass as she read for PtP and it qualifies

I enjoyed this one. Kellen and Skyler both had their wounds but the two of them together were just so perfect. I adored Kellen after he opened up a bit when Brooke showed up on the scene in the first book, so I was happy for him to get his mate. My heart hurt hearing what he went through a cub and then adding poor Skyler's plight to that. GAH.
Skyler was so strong and fearless going after what she wanted. And that fight scene! Badass! It was amazing. I loved the epilogue and it truly brought tears to my eyes to have them get their HEA.
I can't wait to continue on with this series.

Good on you Hazel, thanks!
MKat, that is my exact review and rating from PTP thread but let me know if I need to post.

no problem, Kathy! It worked out. I looked at the book and I didn't see any kindle edition that was published at that time. It's so weird.
But we got it handled.

Yep!
And because you commented that your review was the same, I don't need you repost it. 😊

The final push, ladies, we can do it. Thanks for accepting me into your team, and I will always appreciate our friendship.

Just kidding. Did we want to go with In Death for this one?
