Up until half time you'd have thought we've really got a game on our hand. After that, it all went to pot for Essendon. The weather was atrocious, both sides showed little skill, the Dogs were awarded some dubious frees and took full advantage of them. So it's bye-bye Swans and Dons. better luck next year.

Likewise, Port, another team that finished in the top 4, won their Qualifying Final against Geelong and get the week off before fronting up against the winner of the Lions/Bulldogs game. That's why it's important to finish top 4 if you can. You win and get a week off; you lose and get a second chance in week 2 of the finals.

Although it was a fiercely contested game and the Giants never gave up, you always felt the Cats had this one. Coach Leon Cameron must have been ruing all those injured players, plus Toby Greene (suspended yet again - will he ever learn???). Bye bye GWS and the Cats can look forward to the Demons next week.

Thanks a lot everyone! :-) Had a great day today, my eldest son made me a very nice cooked breakfast for starters. My youngest son had a proper basketball game, (he plays for Poole Piranhas, they lost but he played well). Then it was drinks and nibbles with friends and family and some really nice presents. I did get given a lot of Spurs stuff,; shot glasses, pint glass, pyjamas, face mask and best of all a stadium tour from and with my brother, a fellow Spurs fan. My favourite present was a 50 placard signed by friends and family, made me quite emotional. Don't worry Val, I'm sure it will turn up soon, it wasn't expected and I'm very grateful that you took the trouble, so thank you. :-)
