And if any of the above wants to change their tips for Friday's, Saturday's or Sunday's games, that's fine too. Just let me know.
Well I hope we're all ready - we've packed the thermos, the sangers, the sunscreen, sunhats, rain hats, umbrellas, coats, etc. We're all wearing our scarves and beanies. And you should all know the song by now:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGzHF...
First quarter over and it's been a fast game. First two goals to Carlton.Richmond Tigers (Philip) v Carlton Blues (RedJohn)
3.3.21 (Q1) 3.2.20
Half time and Richmond look more settled.Richmond Tigers (Philip) v Carlton Blues (RedJohn)
3.3.21 (Q1) 3.2.20
8.5.53 (Q2) 6.6.42
Tonight's result:Richmond Tigers (Philip) v Carlton Blues (RedJohn)
3.3.21 (Q1) 3.2.20
8.5.53 (Q2) 6.6.42
10.8.68 (Q3) 8.12.60
15.15.105 (Q4) 11.14.80
What a great game to kick off the season! The difference between the two teams was closer to 2 goals (i.e. 12 points) - Carlton's young team looked very good. But, it's the Tigers home by 25 points and the first winner of 2021 is our newbie, Isabella, who wins $7.00 for Backpack Bed For Homeless with a margin of exactly 25 points. Well done Isabella! See, I told you it was easy. You don't even have to turn up and you still win some money for your charity!
Yes ... Congratulations Isabella!!! ;o>(I'm so tired today that I forgot to Post this until you reminded me, Nick! ;o>)
Val wrote: "I've sent an email to Lez but has anyone seen David???"I hope you all don't mind me barging into your Aussie Rules thread. I just wanted to let you know that I have contacted David on your behalf - Suzy thoughtfully asked me. A message has been sent inviting him to join you! I do hope he is ok, he hasn't posted since the end of Jan.
Hi all,Sorry I haven't been on the forums at all over the last few weeks. No health problems, just really busy with work and 'stuff' Thanks for putting in a punt for me Val. I'll stick with that one for this week and join properly for round 2.
Thanks for shouting and the message from Helen.
Welcome back David! Just a heads up that Round 2 will also start on a Thursday so think about getting your tips in by Wednesday midnight (March 2) if you can. Here's the full season on a one page .pdf document:

Congratulations to the newbie! And welcome back David too.A good start to the new season..the Blues looked pretty good against the champs....hope to see more positive performances from them during the season. Alas, i think the poor young Crows will get the Wooden spoon again tho. Think it'll take more than one season for them to get back to winning form...but we'll see. Not feeling too confident about me Giants tho..now that Cameron has gone over to the Cats. Who'll be the one to fill his old boots? Toby Greene, Jesse Hogan mibbe?

This is really his last chance. Stephen Coniglio has to step up for the Giants - both as a player and as Captain. And hopefully Lachie Whitfield (still recovering from a liver laceration) and Tim Taranto have good seasons. There's still a lot of talent there if you add in Haynes, de Boer, Himmelberg, Josh Kelly etc, plus my two favourites, Phil Davis and Callan Ward.
You might want to listen in for what promises to be a real grudge match tonight when Collingwood front up against the Bulldogs. The Pies unceremoniously dumped star recruit and gun player Adam Treloar at the end of last season. He didn't want to go and was a fan favourite but I think they had salary cap pressure. Collingwood handled it very badly and there was a lot of acrimony. The Bulldogs were very happy to get him so there's a score to be settled tonight.
Tonight's result:Collingwood Magpies (Tech) v Western Bulldogs (Blastro)
1.2.8 (Q1) 3.2.20
4.6.30 (Q2) 6.5.41
5.7.37 (Q3) 9.7.61
7.11.53 (Q4) 10.9.69
The score flatters the Pies as they were never in this game. The Dogs scored three goals in the first few minutes and proceeded to dominate the game. Good game though!

Just listening in on the Crows V Cats game....wow...i don't think anybody was expecting this!

Well...these first rounds can and do throw up some surprising results, but i wasn't expecting Crows and Swans to do that well. As is often the case with some teams..they have a slow start to the season, then pick up pace a few rounds in. That said, it's full season with fans back in the stadiums, thus it could be that some of the lesser performing teams of last season, might do better this season? We shall see! :)
Ah sheeeeeeeeeittt!! Sorry Val, I totally forgot! Numbskull!!! I don't go online via phone like the young uns tend to do so only time I'm online is when I switch laptop on... and sometimes that's only for a few mins. Thanks for the nudge Suze. I just saw it too late. That's TWICE I've been told about the AFL starting up. Duh!
Will probably write it on me forehead for next time.... tho I'd possibly forget to look in the mirror...
Don't worry Blastro - I submitted a so-called expert's tips for you and you're currently sitting on 3 wins from the 6 games played. Better than six of us who've only tipped 2 to date!

Oh, the house is plastered in post-its! We originally got a cork-type affair notice board to stick notes to but they soon became way too much for that. They're under fridge magnets, they're on the cupboards, they're on the shelves. And my little 'DJ area' (the corner of the living-room with the decks, stereo etc) is always lathered in bits of paper and stickers with potential track-lists and ideas for mixes. Tidy it is not.Oh, and the back of my hand usually has new daily messages penned upon it. Maybe a good job I still haven't learnt to use a tattoo gun that was bought for me one Christmas. I'd look like Guy Pearce in Memento!! Alright I should be so lucky yeah? But ya know what I mean.
Y'all getting an idea of what t'other half has to put up with yet? : )
I hope that J always remembers to remove the Post-it that says 'Wife' on it before she leaves the House? - LOL!!! ;o>

I've had an email from RedJohn telling me that ongoing health concerns mean he won't be joining us this season. We will miss you John and wish you all the best.
Today's results:North Melbourne Kangaroos (Steve) v Port Adelaide Power (available)
2.4.16 (Q1) 2.2.14
3.6.24 (Q2) 10.4.64
5.8.38 (Q3) 14.8.92
9.11.65 (Q4) 17.15.117
Greater Western Sydney Giants (Duke) v St Kilda Saints (Lez)
2.3.15 (Q1) 1.2.8
4.5.29 (Q2) 5.6.36
8.9.57 (Q3) 9.6.60

7.7.49 (Q3) 7.8.50
