"BALL UP!" - Val's 2021 Aussie Rules Footy Tipping *Open to Everyone*
SussexWelsh wrote: "Hi Val, it looks to me as if you have scored everyone as if the Lions won. I might be wrong but maybe worth a recheck?"Sorry for the confusion Sussex. Duke's right, the Lions did win but I had their names transposed. Apologies to anyone who routinely picks the home team as I had the same error in last week's fixture too (although I did say it was in Brisbane). Hope this clears it up - and very happy I don't have to go back and re-do all the scores!
theDuke wrote: "which with regards to North winning this week, that stuffed that one up! I honestly believe now that they won't win a single game all season now! ..."In the immortal words of Aussie cricketer Greg Chappell - "I'm not out of form, I just keep getting out". North are actually playing pretty well - at least up until three-quarter time. They are definitely in a team rebuilding phase and are playing a lot of very young kids. They also have a lot of injury woes - but then, so do many teams. Their new coach - a seasoned veteran - is doing a good job with them and I wouldn't write them off just yet.

I think Dustin Martin might be back in play for round 9 though, his 12 day concussion recovery period is nearly up...and he is training again.
Dusty played on Friday against the Cats but Tom Stewart kept him wrapped up. Watch this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Nfu...
and see how much Richmond are missing Dylan Grimes at the back and how much they are going to miss Shai Bolton, Daniel Rioli(??) and Shane Edwards in the next few weeks.
On the other hand, when Geelong fire, they are unstoppable. Many thought that Jeremy Cameron would get in the way of Tom Hawkins and and Gary Rohan but as the clip showed, they were all able to position themselves well on Friday night. And veteran recruit, Isaac Smith, who played in FOUR Premierships with Hawthorn, is just icing on the cake. However, Geelong need to show more consistency to be a serious contender. They always have an advantage playing at home in Geelong; last Friday they showed just how dangerous they can be on the MCG. The "G" has traditionally been Richmond's fortress, but now the Demons are intent on making it theirs.

It wasn't quite the walkover that last Friday night's game was, but the Cats still got it done. Wayward kicking cost the Saints. Sussex was spot-on with his margin of 21 points so $7.00 goes to the Save The Bilby Fund. Well done!

Ohhh dear, I had noticed that she had barely managed to Post anything much at all on the Forums since she came Home and got back online again ... x
Get well soon, Lez - you are always missed when you are not here with us ... x x x
She did say on the Premier League thread that she was having difficulty posting. Not sure if that was the Goodreads problem a few of us had or something up with her tablet.
It certainly was a very weird kind of a glitch this time around, wasn't it? I could pretty much Post anything anywhere on the Forum except for just on the ABC Game Thread?!! And I thought, at first, that it might possibly be objecting to the Link that I was trying to include with my Post so, after trying at least 20 times by then to get it to accept my Post, I tried just using the Word instead. When Goodreads accepted that as a Post - I quickly edited it to add the Link and it turned out that that also worked too?! - and I had no more problems after that. It now sounds like everyone discovered that they suddenly had a particular Thread that just wouldn't take their Post - and, from memory, I don't think we've ever experienced a glitch quite like this one before? - LOL!!! ;o>
