Another straightforward looking round..but i bet it won't be. I wouldn't be surprised if the Blues knock off the feisty Cats & maybe even North getting over the Eagles on home turf (actually given just how awful West Coast were last week..maybe it's not that much of surprise!)..and...i've a sneaky feeling my superb Giants after having thrashed the Dees last week, are gunna do GWS things....and lose to the Suns next...cos it's one of those seasons isn't it?!

The second half wasn't quite as exciting as Melbourne began to exert their dominance but we saw some silky skills displayed by both teams. Interesting to note that Port have played 6 teams currently in the top 8 and come away with 1 win. Melbourne have played 7 and won 6 (the one they lost was last week's game against the Giants and it was only because of that win that the Giants made the top 8).

EDIT: I forgot to mention that Nick wins the $7.00 for the closest margin with his tip of the Dees by 24 points. Launch Housing are the beneficiaries. It's good to see Nick finally getting the reward for following the Demons over the last ten (mostly wooden spoon) years.

Covid is on the march again and as of 4.45pm today, we here in Victoria are in Lockdown 5.0 (for the next 5 days). Sydney (and parts of regional New South Wales) has been in lockdown for 2 weeks with another 2 weeks to go.

Consequently, we have gone from Melbourne being a hub, to Queensland being our saviour.

The AFL wishes to advise of updates to the fixture for Round 18 of the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season as a result of the evolving COVID-19 situation across the country.

Updates to Round 18:

The Richmond vs. Brisbane Lions match scheduled to be played at the MCG has been relocated to Metricon Stadium (Gold Coast) and will take place at 7:50pm AEST on Friday, July 16. Both teams will travel together from Melbourne to Queensland via charter flight tonight.

The North Melbourne vs. Essendon match scheduled to be played at Marvel Stadium has been relocated to Metricon Stadium (Gold Coast) and will take place at 12:35pm AEST on Sunday, July 18. As communicated earlier today, both clubs travelled to Queensland via charter flight this afternoon.

The GWS GIANTS vs. Sydney Swans match scheduled to be played at Mars Stadium has been relocated to Metricon Stadium (Gold Coast) and will take place at 6:10pm AEST on Sunday, July 18.

As communicated earlier today, both teams have relocated from Melbourne to Queensland via charter flight this morning.

As my daughter said, when you see footy teams heading to the airport, you can be sure we're heading into lockdown.
