Janeylou wrote: "So got Brain Train/ hunt /uno and AR"Don't forget PTP lol! But If you're doing the lowest one I'm in, I think with just the first month point scramble of SH I started to feel overwhelmed, but I know that'll get easier later once you can see what other's used

Okay, with level 1 I'd join you guys. 🙂👍🏻
Janeylou wrote: "Sorry forgot ptp (must go and pick a book ) We'll see if trio fancies it as well"
I haven't picked a book for this week's ptp category either. I hope to find a matching one with our next AR task. 😬
I forgot it this week as the cat didnt come till after my bedtime And with other notifiactions on sat morning , i overlooked it 🙄
Just sorted it
I finished my first book and changed the post to completion... do we need another book?I can start one - and yes, I forgot to check PtP today as well!
Trio wrote: "I finished my first book and changed the post to completion... do we need another book?I can start one - and yes, I forgot to check PtP today as well!"
If you want to Trio..dont think anyone has started another yet
I also just bought a puzzle to do while listening to audiobooks and have a short one that works for a couple of challenges and our call if you want to dig into the Lanyon book you got! (I am anxiously awaiting your thoughts lol)
I've got the audio for Earth Fathers Are Weird, and it's been ages since I read it so I've been looking forward to it. It is also tagged "adventure" so I can use it for PtP.I can start it now, and it's pretty short. I'll be done by tomorrow early afternoon.
What do you think Amanda? And I want to do a puzzle!!!! That sounds like so much fun. How many pieces and what is it of?
You go for it then :) I listened to the audio recently and really enjoyed it!!I got two. Both are 1000 pieces, one is actually like a reading nook with someone reading and drinking tea and then the other is Boba Fett from Star Wars. I was just so sick of playing mindless games on my phone while listening to audiobooks and saw them at Target and thought it would be perfect!
I like doing puzzles but i tend to do the WASGIJ ones or the murder mystery where you have to solve the puzzle as well

I couldnt get into this book at all ..on paper it should have been a perfect fit ..but no ☹☹☹
Trio, can you put both of your books in the same post please (like Amanda ) its makes it easier on front page
Janeylou wrote: "Trio, can you put both of your books in the same post please (like Amanda ) its makes it easier on front page"I'd be happy to Janeylou, great idea!
I loved EFAW and it's even better the second time around when performed by John Solo - he's one of my all-time favorites... you've kinda gotta like kinky tentacle sex to enjoy this one though J lol.
great - thank you for posting that J, my son and his GF walked in and everything went to chaos, they're very loud and totally distracting 😂.
No probs ..these kids have no consideration at all do they , they just turn up when they feel like it .....or is that just mine 🤔🤔😄😄
yes, it's a whole soap opera over here 23 hours a daylittle kids = little problems
big kids = big problems
Trio wrote: "yes, it's a whole soap opera over here 23 hours a daylittle kids = little problems

That saying is so true, Trio!
LOL! I hope I am ready when it comes, the husband is a big ole softy with kids so all problems (whether problems they're facing or problems they've caused) will probably fall to me. Also realizing it never ends, my dad told me recently that sometimes he hides when my siblings show up unannounced...they're both in their thirties!
Here is your next task!Task 8 - 55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
As a team select a country outside the US then read 6 books set in that country. Your book can qualify from the book details on the main page, title, precis, tags or lists. Remember to let me know how you know your books qualify, with links or any other necessary information. I need to know where to look to confirm your books!
Looks like we chose England for this one! (Of course all my planned books are US lol). Off to search!
Completion Post Task 8 (6 books set outside US-Team chose England)Book 1
The Professor and the Smuggler by Bonnie Dee
222 Pages
How it qualifies: England as Main Page Setting
Date: 3/30/2021
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: The narration on this was brilliant, but I felt overall the story dragged. I didn’t really get into it until the final couple chapters and by then I didn’t have the right connection to the characters
Book 2
The Copper by Bonnie Dee
204 Pages
how it qualifies: London, England as main page setting
Date: 3/30/2021
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: I really really enjoyed this one. After one historical sorta flop today I wasn’t expecting how much I got into this one but I was hooked from page one.
Book 3
His Haven by Con Riley
330 Pages
How it qualifies: Main page setting Cornwall, England
Date: 3/30/2021
Rating: 5 Stars
Review: Every time I I read one of Con’s books I think, this is it; the best Con had ever written and it cannot get any better. Then I pick up the next one and am blown away all over again. This series is magical, with the descriptions transporting you wherever the characters go, and the characters so lively they feel like so much more than just words on a page. Keir and Mitch both had side roles in His Compass, so we didn’t truly get to know them so I was so excited to get to dig into their stories. I felt so much reading their story, laughter, heartbreak, so much love. These two have more love to give than you could expect and give it all they definitely do. This is one of those books I wish I could read forever, definitely worth all five stars and beyond
I just realized I have an arc I'm planning on reading this week too that takes place in Cornwall so if nobody wants to do a second book I can definitely do three :)
Completion Post - Task 8 #55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
Team decided on England
The Mysterious and Amazing Blue Billings by Lily MortonPages: 279/GR
How it qualifies: from the precis: "When he receives the news he’s inherited a house in York, he seizes the opportunity to begin a new chapter in his life." And tagged British by 4 people
Completed: 31st March
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
This is such a spooky but also funny story. I enjoyed listening to it with the amazing performance by Joel Leslie even more than when I was reading it. :)
Amanda wrote: "I just realized I have an arc I'm planning on reading this week too that takes place in Cornwall so if nobody wants to do a second book I can definitely do three :)"I'm happy with reading "only" one book. 😊👍🏻
I need to find a short one as still got 2 books to finish for this month ...one being a Garrett Leigh that is NOT set in England 🙄🙄
Well Shay is in a band and decides to go touring round the UK 🙄🙄I have found one but need to finish this one first ..last one for UNO
I'm going w KC Wells' Personal Challenges. I'll post when I'm at my laptop. yes Amanda, if you can do 3 I'm fine w that. otherwise I've got another one I can use too.
Completion Post - Task 8#55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
Team decided on England
Personal Challenges by K.C. Wells
322 pages
How it Qualifies: Location listed as England on MP, tagged 'British Boys' by one reader on page 2
Read: 3/31/2021
Rating: 5 Stars
Review: Wow, I'm gutted. We get to know both couples over the course of the earlier stories, and both are faced with some real challenges - good and not so good. But very intense, and quite beautiful.
COMPLETION POST Task 8 Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
..set in England
The Apothecary's Garden by Julie Bozza
204 pgs
From blurb
".......Hilary Kent, a Londoner all his working life, retires to Wiltshire after an estranged cousin unexpectedly leaves him an inhabitable tower surrounded by an overgrown physic garden"
As much as the plot sounded good and the writing was great , the 40 yr age gap was more than i was used to and it didnt work for me
Finished 31 march
3.75
Amanda, it's a good thing you're doing 3 this time around because the book I chose is a real heartwrencher! I've got another 1-1/2 hours on the audiobook so I won't be done till tomorrow after my dog walk.
I'm so glad I decided to, I loved the arc I read SO much. One of my favorite reads so far this year. I adore Con Riley
I've had a mixed experience with Con Riley, I'll have to look again bc I've been hearing so many good things about them recently.I'm on a KC Wells kick - that Personal series has been fantastic.

I think I've only read the His series, but it has all been fabulous. The others have all had mixed reviews so I've been hesitant
