Book 1

An Echo in the Sorrow by Hailey Turner
417 Pages
How it qualifies: Tagged "Family" by 1 person on 4th page of tags
Date: 4/8/2021
Rating: 5 Stars
Review: Set aside your need for sleep, this is one book you wont be able to put down. From page one it is nonstop action, and the war we've seen building is finally coming to a head. So many twists and turns, so many heartstopping scenes. I honestly don't understand how Turner can keep coming up with these stories that are beyond amazing. Patrick and Jono have my heart (and Wade, obviously), and while it hurt for them so many times throughout this book, I wouldn't want it any other way. Pack bonds are growing tighter, new alliances are being forged and old ones are growing stronger. Everything is ramping up in such a way that the last book is sure to be a showstopper. I'm trying to keep this completely spoiler free, but just know that you're getting so much out of this book. You'll hurt, you'll love, you will want to curse gods more than even Patrick can. Everything about this book is amazing, and while an ending is going to be bittersweet, I can't wait to see where Turner takes us.
Book 2

After Ben by Con Riley
300 Pages
How it qualifies: Tagged "Family" by 3 people on 2nd page of tags
Date: 4/8/2021
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: I think this is the first Con book I'm not giving 5 stars. I can't even really put my finger on why this didn't work for me as much. I think I just didn't really connect with the MCs and didn't feel like we saw their chemistry as much as we were told it was there. I still thought it was beautiful, as everything Con writes is

Lawful Mates by Liam Kingsley
194 pages
tagged as children/siblings/family by one reader on page 1
Read: 4/9/2021
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: Typical mpreg Liam Kingsley. A mystery, fated mates romance which was predictable but still mildly diverting. Not really my cup of tea.

yes thank you so much! I can't believe how hard that was to find!
I loved my book though

Tank by K.M. Neuhold
Pages: 282
How it qualifies: tagged family by 2 people
Completed: 9th April
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Now I'm really glad that I gave this series another chance because I enjoyed reading this book way more than the previous one.
I love a well done enemies to lovers romance as well as the fake boyfriends trope and here I got an entertaining enemies to fake boyfriends to friends to real lovers story. 😊
For one Tank and Brewer hated each other's guts and in general they were both hiding their true selves from each other and the world. Brewer playing the clown for everyone, always showing a cocky attitude. In contrast to Tank who seemed unable to word more than some gruff growls.
It was so beautiful to see them discover in each other the real person behind the show they both played for everyone. Loved it! 🥰

I have mixed feelings about that book. I love Pixie's character but I'm not a fan of Daddy kink so I'm not sure if I should read his storie when I get there in the series.

In Other Words... Murder by Josh Lanyon
Pages: 244
How it qualifies: MPG Mystery
Completed: 11th April
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Again, Kit managed to get caught up in a murder-mystery. This time a body was found in the backyard of his old home and his ex David was quick to accuse Kit of the worst when the police called. And on top, Kit's stalker Jerry seemed to be on the loose again.
The mystery, which were in the end three cases, was.....okay...., not bad but definitely not one of this author's better ones.
The book's charme (and reason for my rating) was the dry sense of Kit's humor, the sweet development of J.X. and Kit's relationships and the great audio narrated by Kevin R. Free.

TASK 13

Cash Out by Marshall Thornton

MPG Mystery- crime
Finishwd 11 april

Another great book in an excellent series .This group of friends have me in stitches every time , trying to solve the mysteries/crimes .

Had a lovely chat thank you , did a fair bit of moaning about GR and its problems and how will affect our challenges 😄😄

Book 1

Haven by Morgan Brice
205 Pages
How it qualifies: Mystery as MPG
Date: 4/11/2021
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review: This last book of the Magic Emporium series was everything I’ve come to expect from a Brice story. A lot of supernatural shenanigans, some major suspense, and a very strong HEA. This one had two people with only minor supernatural abilities, but both helped them exponentially in the end. I liked the “mystery”, also though it was pretty obvious what had been going on, it was more of a mystery of who was on their side and who wasn’t (and a betrayal caught me completely off guard!). A good end to this series, and a quick paranormal read
Book 2

The Ghost Had an Early Check-Out by Josh Lanyon
180 Pages
How it qualifies: MPG Mystery
Date: 4/11/2021
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: Very typical Lanyon story. I don’t really remember the first book all that much, and while this book technically stands alone, it did lessen my enjoyment a little as there wasn’t much of the romance side in this installment.

Loose Ends by Morgan Brice
Length: 228 pages
How it Qualifies: Mystery as MPG
Read: 4/11/2021
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: My favorite of Morgan Brice's MM series, I love this couple together. They're very natural and work well, plus the supernatural aspects are very well done.
Only do this series in audio, because Kale Williams is so spectacular reading it. This is a wild cast of supporting characters, and his voices are awesome.

I've got my zoom book club tonight and I haven't finished the book!

Thanks, Amanda! You are the best! 😊👍🏻

and I finished my StS book last night too (and it was really good)
I've got no idea why people give the kinds of stars they do, if something doesn't work for them that doesn't make the book bad. IMHO

Task 14 - 100. Read 8 books with more than 10 letters in the title.

Book 1

Love You Senseless by Susan Mac Nicol
Pages: 164
How it qualifies: Title counts 16 letters
Completed: 13th April
Rating: 3.5 stars
Review:
It has to be devastating for a chef to lose his sense of smell and taste, so I get Gideon's grumpiness and mood swings. Nonetheless I didn't like it and didn't quite get why sweet Eddie not only tolerated it but wanted Gideon.
It took me really long to feel them as a couple.
Book 2

Suddenly Yours by Jacob Z. Flores
Pages: 190
How it qualifies: Title counts 13 letters
Completed: 13th April
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Great romantic comedy, maybe OTT but I had fun listening to it. Perfectly narrated by John Solo!

Book 1

The Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene
192 Pages
How it qualifies: Title is 22 letters
Date: 4/12/2021
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: 3 stars for the nostalgia of it all! I grew up reading Nancy Drew books and playing Nancy Drew computer games so for me this is 100% part of my childhood. Although the book definitely has not stood the test of time IMO (and it is MUCH older than me), and Nancy Drew might just be the biggest Mary Sou around, I’m glad I got to take a little trip down memory lane
Book 2

Accepting My Desire by Taylor Rylan
220 Pages
How it qualifies: Title is 17 letters
Date: 4/13/2021
Rating: 2.5 Stars
Review: This is my second book by this author (the first I've finished), and the writing style just definitely isn't for me. It's way too much tell and not enough show with a focus on completely irrelevant things. I think I'll make sure to pass in the future.
Book 3

Stop Dragon My Heart Around by Rachel Langella
181 Pages
How it qualifies: 23 letters in title
Date: 4/13/2021
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: There was a lot of good here. The thing I absolutely liked the most was the way dragons shifted mass. It was completely unique to me and so very very interesting. I also rather liked our two MCs and the whole cast of characters, even if they were meddling a lot of the time. The story of the MCs was sweet and although it was a little instalovey, it made sense and worked well. However, while this is part of the Magic Emporium series and should standalone, it really doesnt. The romance storyline does, but the world building seems to have all been done in the authors series that this ties-in with. On the positive, I was intrigued enough that I want to read this other series! So not the strongest of the series, but a good story nonetheless, and if you've read the author's other connected series I think you'll love this one.

"Im sure it was Carolyn Keene who wrote Nancy drew......it is Nancy Drew...she cant read that its not MM.....oh we can read anything for this challenge ...OOOHHH its for suss the sentence as well...goood girl Amanda
😄😄😄😄😄

Bell, Book and Scandal by Josh Lanyon
Length: 204 pages
How it Qualifies: 18 letters in title
Read: 4/13/2021
Rating: 5 Stars
Review: I love this series, and I'm so glad to know we've got three more to come! Such an amazing arc over these three books, Lanyon always blows my mind with her intelligence, foresight, and wit. Simply fantastic!
