Your first book here doesn't count. The minimum page count for this challenge is 150. ☹️
But even without it the team is at 1201 pages for this task - so all is good! 😊

Task 27 - 99. Each teammate lists 5 favorite books. Select books from 2 different teammates and read them.
Each member of the team lists 5 of their favorite books. Then each of you selects one book from the list of two DIFFERENT teammates and reads those two books. Series rule applies if necessary. Make sure the books you select are from different teammate's lists. Please include the teammate and a link to the post with their favorites list in your completion posts.

The Murder Between Us

Book 1

The Murder Between Us by Tal Bauer
280 Pages
How it qualifies: One of Caipi's 5 favorites
Date: 5/9/2021
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review: The mystery, the suspense, that was all classic Bauer and I loved every minute of it. It was unexpectedly gruesome at times, but I was there for it. The relationship was probably closer to a 3 star for me as I liked the MCs and I enjoyed their epilogue, but it just seemed to come out of nowhere for me and the chemistry was hot and times but not all together believable. This could be because Bauer wrote one of my favorite couples in Jack and Ethan and I just couldn’t help but compare. So probably more my fault than the books.
Book 2

The Making of Jonty Bloom by Barbara Elsborg
393 Pages
How it qualifies: One of Trio's 5 favorites
Date: 5/8/2021
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: Okay, everyone is right and Jonty is amazing! I loved his monologues, both inner and out loud, and I especially loved him and Devon together. I wish I could give it five stars, but I felt like it was both too long in parts, and that I didn't get a satisfactory resolution in others. Overall I laughed, I cried, and really what else could you ask for?!

Book 1

The Murder Between Us by Tal Bauer
Length: 280 Pages
How it Qualifies:
Caipi's Favorite List
Read: 5/10/2021
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review: Creative mystery, with a good "first time" romance. I always enjoy Tal Bauer's novels.
TBH Not John Solo's best performance.
Book 2 *series rule applies*

His Horizon by Con Riley
Length: 307 Pages
How it Qualifies:
Amanda's Favorite List
Read: 5/9/2021
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: I loved all the food descriptions, and the tremendous local culture Con Riley writes so well. Well written characters, with interesting dynamics. The twist with the dad's military buddy is a good one, I'd just have preferred a little bit different ending. With the challenge ending on Tuesday, May 11th, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Sunday, May 9th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall book count. So, the task is considered ‘completed’ when every team member has read one book for the task, but you can continue reading in order to increase your overall book count for the task in case that is needed for a tie breaker. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest book count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!
**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**
‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️

I loved Jonty! Is it wrong I want a redemption turnaround story for Griff? Like he's kinda terrible, but I think he could change LOL (not Rafi though)

I cant wait to read it ..Barbara Elsborg is one of my favourite authors

And if you thought Griff was an ass in Jonty, wait till you see him in Jonty's Christmas 😂.
I loved Reinventing Cato too, you can read it next if you want. A Long Way Back is excellent too but a bit of a downer.

I'm enjoying The Murder Between Us! I didn't read the precis, and after that opening scene I was expecting it to go in a different way... I'm honestly glad it's going this way.
Caipi, have you read or listened to Winter Kill? I think you'd like it.

Okay all updated and posted.

Okay all updated and posted."
Oh that's a shame! I usually like his narrations and love to listen to books I previously read.

Really good mystery though.

Task 28 - LAST TASK - Read a book with a 9 in the initial publication date.
Books selected for this task need to have a 9 in the initial publication date - date or year, do not convert month to a number. For example, an initial publication date of November 19, 2020 or May 15, 2019 would work, but September 5, 2020 would not. Make sure you use the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format. Please include the initial publication date in your completion posts.
There is no need to post completion of this task in the Q&A thread, I will be checking all the team threads at the end of the challenge. 😊

But will do one to fit in with Wacky Races

As far as i am aware yes

Book 1

Healing Choice by Susi Hawke
150 Pages
How it qualifies: published March 19, 2019
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: Pretty classic Hawke story. I enjoyed it, and it made for a quick fluffy read.
Book 2

Magpie by Piper Scott
250 Pages
How it qualifies: Published March 9, 2020
Rating: 5 Stars
Review: Another wonderful addition to the amazing world Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly have created. This book has everything I’ve come to expect from this series, there’s plenty of humor, tons of love, and of course, absolutely magnificent dragons. On top of all that, this one had a lot of edge of your seat excitement and tension, and what felt like a lot more heart stopping moments. This is one of my favorite series, and this installment was no exception.
Book 3

Give Yourself Away by Barbara Elsborg
339 Pages
How it qualifies: Published February 9, 2016
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review: Since the last book I read by Elsborg was Jonty, this was nothing like what I expected. There was occasional bouts of the same wit, but overall this was darker and much grittier. I still enjoyed it, and was definitely unable to put it down at times, but definitely don't be expecting something light when you pick it up
Book 4

Rescued by Susi Hawke
156 Pages
How it qualifies: Published February 7, 2019
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review: I really enjoy this series. This story was sweet with cute kids, some darker moments, but a very happy ending.
Book 5

Abduction by Susi Hawke
155 Pages
How it qualifies: Published March 7, 2019
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review: I like this one a little better than the first as you actually get to see the two meet. Really this reread is just reminding me how much I love Cyrus 🤣
