MountainKat wrote: "Hey all - grandson's first birthday party starts in a little bit so I won't get to your completions until later. He's one, it's on zoom, and we aren't driving anywhere so it shouldn't last too long..."Aww...i know it's not the same, but I hope it's still fun.
Happy Birthday to your Grandson!
Thanks everyone! It was hard - when my DIL told me they were going this way, she was so disappointed! Said she had been looking forward to the first birthday party her whole pregnancy. We all know the first birthday is for the parents, not the little one!But he did seem to enjoy the cake!
We are planning a socially distanced picnic with them again soon - we've done that once before. 🤞🏼

His 2nd birthday will just have to be bigger and better. 2 is the new 1 I’ve heard. X

Hi Kat - Question about Task 11: 11. Read 4 books in continuing series, one that has not been completely published. Just curious...how do we determine that the series hasn't completely published? Does it have to have an unpublished book coming in the futrue? Or does it work if it's in the 1st in the series and other books haven't been pub?
If somebody has read that task and has already figured it out, let me know and I'll stalk your team thread hahaha.
D.G. wrote: "Hi Kat - Question about Task 11: 11. Read 4 books in continuing series, one that has not been completely published. Just curious...how do we determine that the series hasn't completely published?..."
Yes, that is basically what I'm looking for. If there is still another book planned in the series/trilogy/duet. If it is called a series and only one book is published that works as well. You can use the series page on GR showing an unpublished work or even the author's website showing more planned books. Basically looking for a series like In Death or BDB that is still ongoing This just wouldn't be something like a completed trilogy or a series that is complete like Night Huntress or Virgin River.
And yes, those were the only examples I could think of this morning!!
For task 12, read a book recommended by a teammate, does each teammate have to be covered or could my 3 teammates all read from my shelf and I read from one of theirs? I think if I remember correctly, it doesn't matter and as long as we each read a book not from our own recommendations it's fine. Can you clarify for the team? Thanks MK!

While I'm thinking about it and just so you know. I will be away on Saturday - doing a socially distanced picnic with our son and his family. Get to see the new one year old!! I don't have an exact schedule, but they are about 2 hours away and it is easier for us to drive than them with the little one, so probably leaving early and getting home early evening. Also, I have PT again on Tuesday and Thursday next week. I have to leave fairly early, at least for me, so it would probably be afternoon/early evening before I get online then as well.

D.G. wrote: "If you haven't noticed, there's something happening in GR that you cannot edit posts...sigh..."I have noticed and meant to make a comment about that last night. Everyone, please don't worry about keeping your tracking as you normally would - it will just cause frustration right now. (Where is the GR Feedback group when you need it?!) Just do whatever seems the easiest - even just listing the message numbers will work for me. 😊
Also, there is a glitch with this thread - it is off in the total number of messages and always shows as one new message even after checking the page and reloading. I'm trying to just ignore that, but since it is how I know to come check this thread, it is also frustrating.😠
First world problems, I know...
AliciaJ wrote: "Hi Kat, on task 39, books set outside the US, can this include fantasy or books set in outer space?"Sure.
Hi Kat!For the task: Read 4 books by authors' who write under more than one name (Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb).
As long as it shows that at some point they wrote under a different name, we're good, correct? It's not like they have to write under both names currently?
Hi Kat - for Read a book with a 3 Do hyphens make one word?
Something like The Half-Wolf's Omega.

I just need to see they have written under more than one name.

Hyphenated words are one word.
I do believe that is an oxymoron! 😂

Hi Kat, just to double-check on this as I don't want to read the wrong book! Would this work?
