I'm guessing most of us are the type to have a list of wants and would prefer people buy off that list? I know people who insist on picking out something they think I would like. While that's certainly more personal and requires some effort on the giver, why not give someone what they actually want? Can't quite grasp that perspective...

That’s exactly why I have a list. I have very specific, quirky, unguessable interests. The one exception? My amazing wife goes off my list because she’s known me for 15 years and knows exactly what I want, even if it isn’t comics.

Midnight Nation
Pride of Baghdad
WE3
Black Hammer
Excalibur epic vol 1 & 2
Superman Unchained
I can't wait to dive into them.

It's a lighter day for releases on IST:
Eclipse TPB vol 3
Harley Quinn Rebirth DLX vol 3
Marvel Masterworks Team-Up vol 4
Looks like the Johns Aquaman omnibus is currently sold out on IST. Since it was recently released I suspect it will come back in stock but don't have any confirmation on that. It's still listed as in stock on Amazon.

Kinetic sand?!"
Is a bit like play-doh but with a sexier name:

I read the Elric Ruby Throne DLX last night. The book is huge but slim. It's a very dark fantasy - I haven't read anything in this world before so it's all new to me and this book does act as an introduction to the character and the society he is from.
This is in many ways an anti-Tolkien fantasy in that the main character is an anti-hero ruler of the most powerful nation state in the world that treats most of humanity like cattle. There are plenty of panels that include normal humans being casually tortured while main characters in the story carry on with their lives. I would keep this one far away from children.
The book ends with a rebellion taking place upending the status quo and leaves you ready for the next chapter (coming in a few months).

You guys are really making me think twice about not getting it. It absolutely deserves the praise just not sure I need to own it.

The black limited edition signed hardcovers. Example: https://www.instocktrades.com/TP/Dark...
Now, the problem is that volume one is out of print and will likely cost over $100 if you can find one for sale. I think they only published 500 copies of volume one and the subsequent volumes have print runs of about 1500 IIRC. I have all the books in this format except volume one - which I purchased in softcover (same size). The eighth book has been solicited for later this year and there is a legends elseworlds type collection (9 volumes total). The series is ongoing to I expect there will eventually be more volumes.
Fantagraphics published some of the earlier work and they have a boxed set of that material. I haven't shopped for it.

I ordered a few books off my backlog - Absolute Killing Joke, Kabuki Library Edition vol 4 (I'm still missing 3), and Eclipse TPB vol 3.
I saw that Elric Ruby Throne DLX is back on IST. Which makes me sad since I bought a copy off of Amazon when it went out of stock and naturally it came with a bumped up corner.

Finally won the absolute green arrow off eBay. This one guy has had multiple copies with low starting bids. I didn't want to spend too much and was able to get mine for $20 shipped. Brand new sealed. It's a good read and definitely worth that price point.

Well I only buy stuff now that i really really want and i think this will be a classic.
Colossal King Conan got me. Threw down the $165 for it on eBay. Didn’t want to fool around. Trying to look on the bright side that I preordered all 3 and got two of them. Vol 1 I think was about $70 with a amazon preorder years ago, cimmerian about $65.
I did preorder king from amazon in light of IST not giving guarantees, but amazon just notified me this week they can’t fulfill.

The paperback of volume next to the hardcovers of everything else causes me physical pain when I look at my shelf.

I know that feel too. Here is what my set currently looks like: https://www.goodreads.com/photo/group...
Volume 1 in TPB is lent out. This is my non-Marvel/DC shelf.

Love the office of course and looking forward to the close-up shots of the marvel section.
I've been wanting that Calvin and Hobbes set for awhile in hardcover.

I’m with Blindzider...looking forward to close ups of your marvel books!

Thanks! The shelf itself was actually custom built by one of my brothers.
The Calvin and Hobbes box set is nice. :)

Mister Miracle TPB by Tom King
Marvel Masterworks Uncanny X-Men vol 11

Rel, do you have separate rooms and shelves for your non-comic books? I'm sure that's fairly extensive.
Thanks Jesse. I've been putting this together for at least 9 years. :)
I have shelves throughout the house with the rest of my books. Most rooms have a shelf or two in them. :) I do have them grouped by subject matter. Two shelves for Sci-Fi, two shelves for Fantasy, a shelf for classics, three shelves for history/biography/memoirs. At my office I have a couple shelves for aviation books.
The Bowen statues, Marvel, DC, and random shelves pictured are together in a long narrow room (massive closet?).

Is this Spider-Man omni any good??

I would e-mail them and explain what happened. They typically have good customer service.
I'd like to add that omnibus to my shelves. The Ben Reilly saga was very controversial at the time with Reilly finding out he was actually a clone who thought he was Peter Parker. I didn't get to read as much of this as I was interested in reading when it came out when I was a kid.
I did get my copy of BPRD Hell on Earth 4 and Humanoids book Millennium yesterday. I'm about a 1/4th of the way through the latter.

Looks like the direct market variant of the Marvel Conan the Barbarian Omnibus vol 1 sold out pretty quickly. I wonder if people are overreacting to the Dark Horse Colossal editions selling out so swiftly with purchase of these? I also wonder what the edition run was? :)

I never got the HC DH Conan book, and a couple of the PB ones were high on the after market, but found the three more expensive ones used on Amazon from the same seller, so snatched them up. I think I've got all the PB volumes, but wish I'd been on top of the HC editions.

- Secret Invasion omni
- Hickman’s Avengers Vol. 2
- Secret Wars

Also picked up the Watchmen Box Set for ridiculously cheap (this is the one with 12 individual oversized hardcovers to replicate reading the story in singles). I have the Dark Knight Returns Box Set and really enjoyed the format so much so that I sold my Absolute Dark Knight.
I should have BPRD Hell On Earth vol 4 whenever Amazon UK decides to ship it!
What's everyone getting in Feb 2019? I'm looking at the oversized edition of The Incal, the He-Man Omnibus, Mister Miracle TPB, and Batgirl Year One Dlx. Do you think King's Mister Miracle will get a Dlx oversized version?

Marvel released King's Vision in TPB and then in an oversize hardcover. DC released King's Omega Men in a large (12 issue?) TPB but no hardcover so far. This Miracle Man TPB is about 12 issues so a thicker book. I might pick it up as I don't know what the chances are that we will get a OHC. I've heard only good things about King's Miracle Man so I do want to read it.
I enjoyed the Bendis New Avengers run. I bought all the OHC volumes (7) so they all look the same on the shelf. I don't love an omnibus mixed with off numbered hardcovers (omnibus covers the first three or four books).
I'm way behind on omnibus volumes I'd like to add to my books. My last few orders have picked up smaller things and tried to stay pretty close to the $50 mark with IST to get the free shipping.
Omnibus volumes I am behind on:
John's Aquaman
Batman Knightfall omnibus vol 3
Deathstroke
Johns' JSA omnibus 2 and 3
Supersons
Wonder Woman omnibus vol 3
Ben Reilly Spider-man
Captain America by Mark Waid (I have all this material)
Conan
Guardians of the Galaxy Tomorrow's Heroes
Gaurdians of the Galaxy by Duggan
Weapon X The Return
Prince Valiant Box set 2

Finally cracked open my Miller Daredevil Omnibus . . . Misprint on page 336; duplicate of 331. How frustrating.

If it’s sucks, let me know or if you can compare the quality to something else even better so I get an idea?
Nick, where are you . . . We could trade? I haven’t read it either, but will be picking it up in two weeks when IST has more that I want.
This is one Spider-Man fan's opinion:. The clone saga made me stop buying Spider-Man comics for quite awhile.
Blind, I’ve heard that from about 80% of people I talk to. The other absolutely love it. Again, I still haven’t read it, X-Men and the Death and Reign of Superman comics were absorbing my time in the early 90’s . . . And the occasional Robocop comic from a spinner.
Anyone know if the Clone Saga Omnis and these new Ben Reilly’s overlap in material?
