Tiera McMillian (hawtmess) | 3419 comments I'm Here!

@ Crystal I tried to recomend a series to you the other day and goodreads wasn't having it.
Upended Life (Artemis University #1) by Erin R. Flynn and Dragon Fire Academy 1 First Term an RH academy romance by Rachel Jonas I thought you might like these!

Both are KU if you have it.

Damn technology lol. Thanks for the recommend, I’ll check them both out, I’ve definitely been on an RH binge recently so it’s great to have new ones to pick from ☺️

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments I have way less time to read next month so won't get to as many reads as usual, but I do have a week long holiday where I plan to do nothing but binge through some series, so will hopefully catch up a little there.

Also, if I remember rightly we get an extra 250 bonus points everytime we will the board with reads. That's a huge bonus! I'm not sure if any of you guys read many classics, but I've found a few older reads that I can try and prioritise to give us a head start there :)

message 7: by Tiera (new)

Tiera McMillian (hawtmess) | 3419 comments Yea good on you Dannii I got nothing for that first grid spot! I will say that when you get to book 2 of The Witcher maybe we could team up. I read the first ones in December after binge watching the Netflix series and then dying inside when I found out that the next season doesn't come out till January 2021..

message 8: by Tiera (new)

Tiera McMillian (hawtmess) | 3419 comments I have tons of 80's Bodice Rippers though so I should be able to lock that spot down!

message 9: by Tiera (new)

Tiera McMillian (hawtmess) | 3419 comments Ok I've decided I'm going to read through my Johanna Lindsey Johanna Lindsey Collection and focus heavily on 80's - 90s and early 2000s.
Ill be starting with the Mallory/Anderson Series:
Love Only Once (Malory-Anderson Family, #1) by Johanna Lindsey - 1985
Tender Rebel (Malory-Anderson Family, #2) by Johanna Lindsey - 1988
Gentle Rogue (Malory-Anderson Family, #3) by Johanna Lindsey - 1990
The Magic of You (Malory-Anderson Family, #4) by Johanna Lindsey - 1993
Say You Love Me (Malory Family, #5) by Johanna Lindsey - 1996
The Present (Malory-Anderson Family, #6) by Johanna Lindsey - 1998
A Loving Scoundrel (Malory-Anderson Family, #7) by Johanna Lindsey - 2004
Captive of My Desires (Malory-Anderson Family, #8) by Johanna Lindsey - 2006
No Choice But Seduction (Malory-Anderson Family, #9) by Johanna Lindsey - 2008
That Perfect Someone (Malory-Anderson Family, #10) by Johanna Lindsey - 2010
Stormy Persuasion (Malory-Anderson Family, #11) by Johanna Lindsey - 2014
Beautiful Tempest (Malory Family, #12) by Johanna Lindsey - 2017

To fill in the years not on here I'll focus on some of her other series like: The Reid family series and the Ly-san-ter Series all of which I have both physical and kindle copies. So hopefully we can knock those lines out fast and work our way to completing a board.

RiP Johanna Lindsey 1952-2019

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments That's awesome, Tiera! I have a few 2020 arcs I need to get through but apart from that I can definitely focus on the first few columns :D I've stacked up a bunch of shorter classics I've been meaning to get to

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS (crystaldc18) | 10122 comments Yeah I won’t be much help filling the entire board as I rarely if ever read books that old. I won’t have a problem getting us points for individual boxes though lol

message 12: by Tiera (new)

Tiera McMillian (hawtmess) | 3419 comments I know how it is crystal since I typically read newer stuff too but I’ll try my best to fill the back end and you can focus on the front end! I have a couple newer things coming out in March that I’ll need to read but I’ve been wanting to go through my Johanna Lindsey stuff ever since I heard of her passing last year and this is the perfect time for that!

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

hi guys checking in. so excited to start!!

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I havent done a team challenge for a few months now. so I'm pumped.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments I'm going through my books now and I will try to come up with a plan. If we want to win we will need as many bonus points as we can get.

message 16: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments Hi Cynthia :) I came back to challenges last month, after being away from the group for a while. I definitely feel like I read more when I have these challenges to motivate me :)

message 17: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments Hannah, I agree! I think between us all we can have a good chance of filling all the dates in :D

message 18: by Aly (new)

Aly (alyp_01) | 11128 comments Hi I'm here!!

message 19: by Aly (new)

Aly (alyp_01) | 11128 comments I'm not the best at reading older books, but I will do my absolute best. I have almost nothing planned so we'll see what years we need and I'll fill in as I can

message 20: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments Hey, Aly :)

I have a few classics lined up and a few more recent buddies, but can add more shorter classics in at the end of the month if it looks like we are struggling there :) I've also got a ton of Michael Crichton thrillers, which can span the 80s to the 90s.

message 21: by Aly (new)

Aly (alyp_01) | 11128 comments Ooh nice!

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments Other teams are doing spreadsheets. Did we want one too or just wing it?

message 23: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments I have no idea how to create one but I'd be happy to use a spreadsheet :)

message 24: by Tiera (new)

Tiera McMillian (hawtmess) | 3419 comments I am not spreadsheet savvy, but am not opposed to using one!

message 25: by Aly (new)

Aly (alyp_01) | 11128 comments Same. I'm learning but not great yet. I can help if someone else knows where to start

message 26: by ☆☆Hannah☆☆ (last edited Feb 24, 2020 01:55PM) (new)

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments I will start one and everybody can help me if it needs it.

It's going to be basic. I'm adding all the years and you just need to fill in the box with your initial or name and the title of the book.

We can decide as a team if we want to color code stuff by currently reading or finished.

message 28: by Aly (new)

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments I will get on the desktop in a little bit and fix that.

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS (crystaldc18) | 10122 comments Looks good! I’m a dork and keep my own spreadsheet mostly to keep track of all these challenges and groups, so I’ll try to remember to use this one too lol. Maybe we can add a few rows though depending on what info we want to add to each line, like name, title, if there are alternate years available?

I’m wondering if we should maybe have a list of books that have multiple editions and such to give us xtra year choices. I know most of what I’ll be reading are current probably within the last five years but there are some that can span a decent amount of years. Maybe this can give us an advantage when we need certain years filled, I wouldn’t mind holding out on posting occasionally for this reason. Does that make sense or did I ramble lol?!?

☆☆Hannah☆☆ | 6596 comments It should be set up now for anyone to edit it.

message 32: by Aly (new)

Aly (alyp_01) | 11128 comments Can we use alt editions to fit for different years? That's great. I think that's a good idea Crystal

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS (crystaldc18) | 10122 comments Aly wrote: "Can we use alt editions to fit for different years? That's great. I think that's a good idea Crystal"

Yeah I just double checked and we don’t have to go by when the book was originally published. Any edition pub. date will work.

message 34: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments Thank you so much for the spreadsheet, Hannah.

Yeah, it's awesome that we can use any edition. Some older books have hundreds of editions and I'm sure they could fit almost anywhere :)

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS (crystaldc18) | 10122 comments I spiced up the spreadsheet a little, adding what I think will help the most. If anyone doesn't like it I can undo the changes or add anything you guys think might be missing!
That first row from >1929 - 1990 is really going to be challenging. (at least for me lol)

message 36: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments It's looking good! Should we maybe colour code the books we add? So, say write them in red for planned books in the immediate future, orange for currently reading, and green for once they are posted so we can see where each other are? We can then track how close we are to completing the grid then :)

I have four reads planned for each of the earliest three date boxes so we should be covered there. I've been neglecting my classics so this challenge is the perfect excuse to focus on them :)

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS (crystaldc18) | 10122 comments We can definitely color code. I think I have most of what I plan on reading for the month picked out so I know there will be some but not that many oldies I'll be contributing.

message 38: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 28, 2020 08:33AM) (new)

I can't wait to start reading... I am working 16 hrs today and 8 tomorrow but I come out at 1130 so I will start reading at midnight!!! I have a couple of financial books which I don't know if they will count but I hope they do.. . The Total Money Makeover A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness by Dave Ramsey Love Your Life, Not Theirs 7 Money Habits for Living the Life You Want by Rachel Cruze , The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason , I am also going to join a couple of BR's and GBR's. I have been lagging on reading this year but I am so coming back in full swing lol

message 39: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments Wooh, good luck with your 16 hour shift, Cinthia. That is brutal!

message 40: by Aly (new)

Aly (alyp_01) | 11128 comments That's a lot of working! I'm not sure how the financial books will go, but hopefully they count.

message 41: by Dannii (last edited Mar 01, 2020 02:23AM) (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments Hey guys, the month has just begun for me. I didn't manage to complete two of my March reads in time so going to focus on page points for those first, but have three BRs lined up for today so going to have to make a start in them, as well. Help! Lol!

I've just pushed my first few reads, that I plan to read over the month in the spreadsheet :)

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

ok guys I started last night at midnight but then I fell asleep and woke up at 5 am... so I re-started my book. I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sánchez . It's not a BR :(. But after this I will start The Institute by Stephen King , which is a BR that starts today... thankfully today is my day off and relaxing with a book or two is the best way to spend it lol.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

I will also try to jump in maybe 2 or 3 of the GBR's but we will see. I am super excited to be here finally. This month is also my birthday so I will have plenty of time to read since I am taking a few days off from work.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi guys not to be a pest but is there anyway some one can put the link to the spreadsheet on the first comment (where our names are listed), also if it's possible the review link?

Thank you guys, it's ok if it's not.

Nothing better than new books and lazy days of reading them :) Happy Birthday, Cinthia!

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

yes... thank you.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

I am trying to put my name and books in the spreadsheet but don't know what the colors mean. I didn't see a legend ;(

message 48: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments Sorry, Cinthia. Red is for planned reads, orange for current reads, and green for completed reads. I think that's what we decided on anyway, lol!

message 50: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9874 comments I just uploaded my first book and went for the oldest date I could claim for it, as classics might be where we struggle to fill.
