Kristie | 5928 comments Christine - Would you like your own thread for updating the daily holidays? I was thinking when I redo the threads for the new year I could create one just for that and you could keep track of them there. You seem to enjoy it and I think it would be a fun thing to track. What do you think?

Hi,
What month with sign ups for the next Uno game be in?? It'll be my first game and I'm looking forward to it! 💜🃏🀄♟️

message 917: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments Hi PrinzessBookDragon :)

UNO is a popular game around here. Sign ups generally happen in January and the game usually starts in February. I believe it's the same this year. Karen runs that game, so I've sent her a pm to confirm. I don't think you'll miss the sign ups. We send out a pm to everyone when it's time.

yay! I have been looking for challenges where you get more than 1 week to finish a book as I am not always successful with that <3

message 919: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments Not sure if you saw this, but we have a monthly challenge going on now as well that we do every other month. UNO is a competitive team challenge that lasts about 3 months. The monthly challenge is a personal challenge with 7 tasks that lasts for one month. If you want to check it out, you can find December's challenge here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

AT Demeter | 48 comments Hello, guys! I just want to tell you that since I know Christmas can be lonely for so many and that it can make them feel very low, if you ever need to talk to someone, I’ll be happy to listen. I may not always relate to your struggle, but you can be rest assured I’ll be glad to listen. And help in whatever way possible. 😊

message 922: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) That’s a very kind thing to do, Ashlynne! I’m notifying Santa to beef up your stash.

AT Demeter | 48 comments Thank you guys, I’m both stirred and humbled by your responses. I forgot to let you know that I’m by no means one of those internet creeps who pretend to be someone else they’re not and then ensnare those who walk in their traps. Heaven knows this, so please don’t worry that I’ll betray or compromise you in any way. 😊 I hope that I’ll come across to you as real and sincere as ever and that I can serve and help you in any way possible.
Love you!

AT Demeter | 48 comments A very happy and Christ-blessed Christmas to every single one of you!
Especially to the ones who have nobody to share Christmastime with, you’re in my thoughts, heart and prayers tonight. I very much hope that your sadness and loneliness will go away tonight and that you won’t make the terrible mistake of ending your lives and missing out on the chance for a joyful life.
Merry, happy Christmas! And God bless us everyone. 😊

I read that, but so many years ago. It was before I even joined Goodreads 10 years ago, so I don't have any review or rating posted here. Unfortunately, I don't remember enough to be of any help.

message 939: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Well it happened. My daughter and I have COVID. I did everything right, wore mask, got vaccinated, stayed home, washed hands, and still I got it. Eventually everyone is going to get it. As long as there are those that refuse to cooperate, every single person on earth will get it one day. You can't hide from it. Whether you get a severe case or the mild one is up to you.

STAY SAFE, EVERYONE!!!

message 940: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments Oh no. I'm so sorry you got it, Groovy. I know so many people that have gotten it recently. I hope you both have a mild case and feel better quickly.

Just wanted to remember Betty White. She will be missed. The next year won't be quite as funny without her.

message 942: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments I was so saddened to see that news today, Debra. I know 99 is a long life, but she would have been 100 in January and she always seemed so healthy and young at heart. She will be missed.

Kristie | 5928 comments Christine - I started a thread for your holiday posts if you still want to do it. It is called 'Weird and wacky holidays!' You can find it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 948: by Groovy (last edited Jan 03, 2022 11:16AM) (new)

Groovy Lee Kristie, thank you for your well wishes. We're doing better, slowly. I think if we hadn't been vaccinated, it would have been worse. I hope you and your family were able to see and enjoy one another this time of the year:)

And I apologize for the COVID speech in the above message. I know I came off as angry, but I was a bit shocked about it.

message 949: by AT (new)

AT Demeter | 48 comments I really hope you and your daughter get better and that you don’t stay sick for too long, Groovy. And have a God-blessed New Year!

message 950: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments No worries, Groovy! At this point, I think everyone is frustrated by covid in some way.

I saw most of my family, but it was freezing rain and snow on Christmas Day where we were and the roads were really slick. My younger daughter couldn't make it because of the poor road conditions. They even closed some of the major roads near her for a while.
