Deonna Coe | 20 comments I listen to audio books every day at work using the overdrive app. It lets me borrow the audio books from a local library so I can listen. It's pretty awesome actually.
The thing is their audio book options are sometimes limited or I have to wait a very long time while its on hold. There are so many books on my want to read list the library doesn't have. Does anyone know of a good option for audio books that won't cost a lot? Thank you!

message 3: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments I love audiobooks too, Deonna. I listen to them quite often. Unfortunately, other than overdrive and Audible I don't have any good suggestions. I've tried other apps, but they didn't have good availability or cost more.

Kristie | 5928 comments I went to see Little Women yesterday with a group of friends. I thought it was really good. I'm one of the few who hasn't read the book yet and I haven't seen any of the older movies that I recall, so it was new to me.

Me too! I went to see it right around it came out and I loved it so much!
I haven't read the book either (hoping to soon), so at first it was a little confusing about who everyone was and what was going on, but after a while I really fell in love.

Ugh--I'm tired of winter, even though the average temperature is around 60. I'm waiting anxiously for the tennis season and the Olympics to start already.

And don't feel too bad for the groundhog. I think he gets a massage and a very, very good meal as a reward. We should all be so lucky:)

Groovy Lee You mean they don't reward the poor thing after disrupting its day? That's not right. And what did it see anyway? Does anyone know?

Hey Kristie, I saw the movie a couple of days ago and I haven't read the book yet too. I just wanted to ask you what was your favorite part of the movie and most importantly your favorite character (maybe even character development) ? :)

Hi Sumejja! Sorry, I missed this! I don't know if I have a favorite part or a favorite character. I feel that it really centered on Jo and her perspective, so there is a lot of character development on her part. What about you?

Hey Kristie! No Problem.
Well in my opinion the best part was, where Jo started to write/ wrote her masterpiece Little Women. And I absolutely adored all of the sisters especially Amy, she's a real cutie

Annie England | 2 comments Hi everyone! I am currently halfway through Stranger In The House by Shari Lapena. I think it is a very interesting book and it has kept my attention since page one. I will be making a trip to the library soon and was hoping for some recommendations...does anyone have a book they are currently reading that they can't seem to put down? I appreciate any feed back!
Much love

Kristie | 5928 comments I just realized how quiet this thread has been. I've been so busy lately I didn't even notice. How is everyone?

message 44: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (znair) My country is in a state of "please don't go outside unlesss it's strictly necessary", which is doing wonders for making it through my TBR-pile. I might even get around to some of my really old books - I tend to prioritize library books over my own books because the library books have a deadline, but now I might run out of them! And all libraries are closed for the next 14 days ...

message 45: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments Yes, Sophie. This is certainly a strange time. A lot of events have been cancelled here. I should be using this time to get through all of my books, but I don't seem to be getting very far.

message 46: by Sumejja (new)

Sumejja (schumejja) | 7 comments So here in Germany almost all schools, including mine, are closed for some time. It’s strange because the situation is unknown. Yes I am happy cause rn I can read all my books but to be honest I am kind of scared. :(

message 47: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (stillchasethewind) | 452 comments I work in NY near where a outbreak has happened. Schools have not closed where I work yet. People are beginning to panic though. I work in healthcare and we are emphasizing hand washing and mask wearing in high risk areas (like an emergency room). Hopefully once it starts getting warmer things get better. I am glad that so far kids have not been getting sick. Happy reading everyone.

message 48: by Lana (new)

Lana (grimmistel) | 2 comments In Croatia schools are closed for 2 weeks. We're still keeping it pretty contained but people are panicking. The TBR pile thing is true for me though, it's been going down crazy since the epidemic lol. But on a serious note, stay safe everyone.

message 49: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Here in Tennessee, the numbers of those with the virus grows everyday. What makes me so frustrated is that before all of this, hand sanitizers were everywhere. Now they can't keep them on the shelves. We are told the same as everyone else--to cancel large events, no touching one another, and stay in if at all possible.

My daughter is so worried she might bring it home from work and make me sick. (I have bronchitis) But as with all of you, we're being very careful.

And like Rachel stated, I'm so glad the kids aren't affected by this. That would be a big catastrophe.

I hope you all are doing okay. Wash your hands--this is the new motto. Hope you're doing okay, Kristie.

message 50: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5928 comments I'm good, Groovy, just staying home a little more than usual. I find it concerning how many people need to be told to wash their hands. The thing that really gets me though is the toilet paper. What is up with the toilet paper?? How much do you really need?
