PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments The Lost Soul Atlas by Zana Fraillon is a fantastical book for young readers, but it's just as entertaining for grown-ups. Life or afterlife or somewhere in between? Twiggy tries to find himself and his Da.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments As part of my 2020 personaly chalenge to read 'the classics' I just finished Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
It was an annoying, 1* read for me, I did not care for it at all and I do not believe that many people who claim to like this 'story' can possibly have read the whole thing as adults. It is wordy full of meh and has less morals than the banned novel American Psycho

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I know I am always guaranteed a great read when Kate Atkinson is the author, so perhaps that explains why I was laughing so much during Steven Crossley's reading of When Will There Be Good News?, I was anticipating all those good bits. I had forgotten some of the sad bits though....

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I always look forward to any book by Karin Slaughter and there's extra anticipation for a Will and Sara book. The Silent Wife more than met my expectations: a brilliant read, and I laughed more than I would have expected (was Faith Mitchell always this funny?)

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments What mother in her right mind enlists the help of her fourteen-year-old daughter so she can have an affair with her husband's best friend? Adrienne Brodeur had just such a mother, and she tells all in her autobiography, Wild Game: My Mother, Her Lover, and Me. It's all true and quite a read!

Sarah | 1543 comments Here's my review of Silent Ridge (ARC released under title Dark Falls: A gripping crime thriller and mystery) by Gregg Olsen (Megan Carpenter #3). I felt this was one for which I'd have had greater appreciation if I'd read #1 and #2 in the series first.
