I'm a writer of Young Adult fiction who lives in the beautiful, green state of Oregon. My sci-fi debut, THE BODY INSTITUTE, explores themes of body image and identity. Cool news!--this book is under development for a TV series with producer Lane Shefter Bishop. An audiobook of the book released April 21, 2020. The sequel, SPARES, released January 4, 2021.

THE ORANGE TREE released November 2020; it's a fairytale retelling about a girl raised by ogres.

My other books are BOTTLED, THE LYING PLANET, and the JUNCTION 2020 series. I have a Studio Arts degree and I'm a longtime SCBWI member.

You'll usually find me in my writing cave, surrounded by my dragon collection and the characters in my head. I enjoy reading--mostly young adult novels--as wel

I'm so glad you enjoyed The Body Institute. People frequently ask me about a sequel. This is what I tell them: Originally I had a sequel planned, but as my agent and I looked for publishers for TBI, the novel STARTERS came out. The sequel as I had it outlined at the time sounded really similar--and without as much of the weight issues of TBI, there wouldn't be as much to make it stand out from STARTERS. But I haven't totally ruled out the possibility of continuing Morgan's story. Happy reading! :o) (less)

The Sequel Has Been Released!

At looooong last, the sequel to my 2015 YA sci-fi, THE BODY INSTITUTE, has been released! It continues the near-future dystopian involving Morgan Dey and her job as a Reducer at The Body Institute.

While Morgan plays a part in this book, the story continues 8 months later from the viewpoint of 16-year-old Lexi Moore. Junk food is now illegal, and parties serving these forbidden foods are called Cr Read more of this blog post »

Everything about this book seemed fast. The pacing was fast, with the characters dashing from one adventure or mishap or danger to another. The dialogue moved at a quick jog; I have to say, I prefer that over being banal and boring. The romance was a ...more
