2020 Bookshelf Rereads
I was fully intending on reading both but I think I left The Golem and the Jinni at the Beach and apparently “I need to get my books and sewing” isn’t a good enough reason to travel so I’ll get around to it if I ever get back east again. I do have The Left Hand of Darkness with me. I saw it yesterday.

She's 7 hours ahead of me, it should have been perfect! But I forgot that Finnish people have some complicated deposit/withdrawal system for sleeping. That'll teach me for being culturally insensitive ;-)
But yes, thanks all for helping out <3

April 15th:The Left Hand of Darkness >> First impressions | Final thoughts
The Golem and the Jinni >> First impressions | Final thoughts
I forgot to remind everyone earlier this week, but there's still time to join these rereads! Left Hand will be discussed in the next Virtual Book Club meeting this Sunday, so if you planned to read it soon, now's the time to start!
There's an idea for my next book. I was going to read Earthsea but might change that to TLHoD. I have that here with me. I think I left TGatJ at the beach so that's out.
Voting is OPEN until May 25thVOTE HERE / Live results in spreadsheet
I can't believe it, but it's time to vote for our July-September rereads! :o
I'll start posting the lists in this thread after we have enough votes :)
Links to all the books on the form: (view spoiler)
Ryan wrote: "You missed one. I won't tell you which though as I don't want to reread it."I'm assuming this is a joke, but if that should happen, then no matter, the list in the post is just a bonus, the real list is on the form! :)
Heh, I have the advantage of knowing that these lists are not made by hand, and also that I'm perfect and never make mistakes! :PI'm so tempted to start posting the lists, but we only have 29 voters, so it'll all be completely changed very soon.
Anna wrote: "Heh, I have the advantage of knowing that these lists are not made by hand, and also that I'm perfect and never make mistakes! :P..."XD - That's a mighty advantage indeed (knowing to be perfect <3). I was really trying to figure out how Ryan could spot one single title in such a long list … I'm too easily hoaxed. ^^'
Rooting for City of Bones, The Underground Railroad, Boneshaker, and The Thousand Names. All have been in my TBR for years.
Melanie wrote: "I have a strong interest in The Anubis Gates."I just read it! Really enjoyed it, would happily join the discussion for a re-read.

City of Bones
because I own both and have yet to read them. I definitely need a push on the first one
I’m another who’s pulling for City of Bones and Bear and the Nightingale, plus also Leviathan Wakes.

Anna wrote: "lol, OK let's go with C then! Sorry CBR!"I keep thing 433p = 433 pence for some reason (I think that makes me an old fart)
Actually, the p also makes me think of (Finnish) pennies, but that's how it used to be on the forms, so I kept it that way. I don't think it matters much in this case, as long as people understand what it stands for. Someone always asks about the numbers, and I kept meaning to change it but never got around to it.
Anna wrote: "...the p also makes me think of (Finnish) pennies..."Same. But context o'hoy; should be easy enough to deduce what is meant here <:D
No, no.
This is our price per vote to get this book in the final six. No, I do not accept any other form of currency. Please send jars of pennies in your local denomination.

Can someone please vote for Fifth Season? Or a few of you? I’m obviously not the only person who hasn’t read it yet, but I already voted for it so my hands are tied. I suppose I could un-vote for something else that’s tied for 6th at the moment, but I would really like to (re)read both!
Yeah I can change it like that for both the form and the list. I won't change the form mid-voting, but I can edit it for the next round. In that case we might as well go for "pp".C1 Alif the Unseen (433p)
C2 Alif the Unseen (433 p)
C3 Alif the Unseen (433 pp)
Option C4 is that we blow up the spreadsheet and stop doing rereads!

or you could create 30 more Gmail addresses and vote multiple times!!!

I could very well be wrong, but my understanding is that p is for page and pp is for pages, and pg is not official? In any case, I don't personally care at all what it says, as long as people are happy! :)
