K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments I'm getting ready to start my 20th audio book of the month today!

The Restorer (Graveyard Queen, #1) by Amanda Stevens

and reading my 5th kindle of the month...

message 402: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Lol I finished my 5th audio yesterday and am 1/2 way through my next.

message 403: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments I'm on my 10th book that I should finish today - some are hardcover/paperback and others are on my Nook. Most are ones that I read for the two sites I write reviews for as a volunteer.
I have several to go to finish Challenges and need 8 more to reach my goal of 200 I set for the year.
Luckily I'm off from December 24 to January 4. School doesn't reopen until January 5th and I work in an elementary school office. So based on how much other stuff I have going on after the holidays I should make it. My problem is the A-Z challenge which I had set to hard and still need to read two title books and 5 author books to complete the challenge!

Summer Knight (The Dresden Files, #4) by Jim Butcher

Read: 12/17/14
Rating: 4 stars

Review

I'm only four books in and I'm already wondering how Harry manages to get himself in these situations. That's not a bad thing, because it makes for some very interesting reading, but I admit to wondering how he's managed to survive for however many books are in the series now lol. This one was another solid entry and dealt a lot with the fae. I find the fae fascinating, and love reading books that deal with them, so I enjoyed every minute of this one. Looking forward to reading book 5!

message 405: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Lol Harry gets into some pretty bad situations. I'm hoping one of our rolls alternates will work for book 10. I need my Harry fix....

message 406: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 509 comments Sorry for being slow again this week, guys. We had to put my other kitty down last Friday, so I'm trying to adjust to having no pets at the moment. Hopefully, my husband will let me get another pet sometime soon cuz the house just doesn't feel right without an animal in it.

I've also been slow because I've been sucked into Dragon Age: Inquisition (video game). Basically, anytime my son is asleep, I have the Playstation on. What's really funny to me is that while I'm on the Playstation, my husband is playing the exact same game on his computer. We're such dorks lol.

I started the audio for A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin earlier this week. I'm not super fond of the narrator, but I don't think I'll ever get around to physically reading the book lol. Plus, work has been really slow lately, so it's nice to have something to occupy my time with to make the time go quicker.

I do love the audio for J.D. Robb's In Death series. The narrator is fantastic!

Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #4) by Kresley Cole

Read: Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole
Rating: ***
Date: 12/17/2014
Review: This book was very similar to the previous books, but that's ok. I still enjoyed it. I'll keep reading the series though, I'm liking the tortured hero scenario and the lines are witty.

message 408: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments So sorry to hear about your cat. I think getting another ASAP is the best medicine. That's what we've always done when we've lost a pet. It makes it more bearable.

I'm a call of duty junkie (so is the hubby) so I totally get it lol.

Are you doing Harry on audio? James Marsters is the narrating God!!!

message 409: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments Woo-Hoo! All reviews are in and it's still early Thursday morning - You guys Rock!

Sending good roll mojo your way for tonight JoAnne!!

message 410: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 509 comments I haven't tried Harry on audio, but the fact that James Marsters does the narration is a big selling point! I may have to do that for book 5!

message 411: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Seriously I wouldn't read Harry any other way. James Marsters kinda acts the book out. To me he is Harry.

It really has been! I'm looking forward to having some time off after this week to just relax.

I'm definitely going to have to read the next Dresden book on audio, Jenne!

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Just a reminder:

Teams will roll on Friday (12/19) two times for two spots. No roll on 12/26. Both book's deadline will be 1/2 and then the game resumes it's normal schedule.
If you feel you won't be able to manage either holiday's rolls that's ok. Just let your team know and you can skip those rolls without penalizing the team.

I'll be rolling tonight - blowing on the dice already hoping for 2 good rolls.

If we don't "talk" much between now and Christmas I hope everyone who celebrates has an enjoyable one and gets everything they hope for.

Glad he's feeling better Jenne.

Waiting to roll and for the second load to finish drying. Then I have to gather all my gifts for work tomorrow - Secret Pal luncheon, gifts for interns and some others. At least I brought up all the gift boxes and bags I will need.

I'm lucky - I don't need much sleep and if I get tired I go to bed earlier.

message 426: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments Well, I didn't get to be the light weight I'd planned on tonight...

Jenne - I feel bad for your little guy. Stomach bug is so UGH! Glad to hear he's doing better now.

I wish I didn't require much sleep JoAnne - I'm envious. I'd be so much more productive. :). I'm pretty sure I'll be grouchy now tomorrow. Ha!

Do you want to do one roll and I'll do the other since you're still up? If so, you can go first.

message 428: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments Sorry - You can go ahead with both! I just saw your message. My son sprained his ankle tonight so we re trying to figure out if it's truly just a sprain. :(

message 429: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments Okay I rolled for both weeks.

Week 6 rolled 2 + 3 = 5 so we're at 48 and alternate is Cover Item Headless Person
Can read book 4 or 8 or 48 in a series

Week 7 rolled 3 + 4 = 7 so we're at 55 and alternate is Cover Item Animal(s)
Can read book 5 or 55 in a series

sorry we got the same digits :( in roll 2

Plus the alternate gives us some good options.

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments Week 6's read will be determined shortly - I have a huge pile to go through. May want to go with the alternate, we'll see.

Week 7's read will be book 5 in a series:
Romancing the Billionaire (Billionaire Boys Club, #5) by Jessica Clare Romancing the Billionaire (Billionaire Boys Club #5) by Jessica Clare

Happy Reading all! Hope you have fun choosing your reads.

Sorry for your losses Suzanne. Always tough when we lose our fur babies.

message 438: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 509 comments I'm sorry for your losses, Suzanne! It's definitely very hard to go through!

We're having "the pet talk" this weekend, so we'll see how it goes. My husband isn't the biggest cat person and would prefer we get a dog. I offered up the idea of a dog and a cat, but he didn't seem enthused lol. While I would prefer a cat, I absolutely adore dogs too, so I guess I'll be happy no matter what. :)

message 439: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann | 509 comments I'm having a hard time deciding on my books lol. For spot 48, I immediately thought of Lying Season (Experiment in Terror, #4) by Karina Halle , but with the alternate being headless, I could also go with The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13) by Kim Harrison or Shield of Winter (Psy-Changeling, #13) by Nalini Singh , both of which I've wanted to read for a while. I'm very torn lol.

For spot 55, I'm almost positive I'll be reading Death Masks (The Dresden Files, #5) by Jim Butcher .

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments EIT SA!
I'm so stupid busy this morning. Once things settle down a hair I'll see what choices I have, no Harry for me boo!

K~Terror (k-terror) | 4537 comments EIT all the way, Steph Ann! Woo-woo!!!

Thanks JoAnne! I'll link and post as soon as I get to a computer. Have been running errands since morning and now on my way to the airport to pick up my niece from Texas! :)

My sons ankle is better - he's able to hobble on it now and the swelling doesn't look like he's growing a second head out of it any more. Progress!

Thinking I'm going to read:
Lick (Stage Dive, #1) by Kylie Scott and Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, #5) by Ilona Andrews
