It varies. I reviewed almost 200 books last year and the year before 224.

Working full time and doing things around the house holds me back. This month I'm averaging just under a book per day. If you go to my goodreads page you can see the books I read/review.

Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning

Book:Faefever by Karen Marie Moning
Read: 1/19/15
Rate: ☆☆☆☆
Review:
Finally I feel like Moning's Fae world is all coming together for me. Although I enjoyed the first two books, it was very heavy in the world building and getting to know Mac. Mac, the MC, is not the most likable and easiest to connect with but I really feel like this is the book where I'm starting to see what all the fuss is about. Mac's world is very dark, very disturbing, but full of some of the sexiest males ever - so it's a good balance. The story line was extremely intriguing and found it difficult to put the book down towards the last half. The ending really leaves you in a place where you have to download the next book in the series ASAP!

The Winter Long (October Daye, #8) by Seanan McGuire

Read: 1/20/15
Rating: 5 stars

Review

This is going to be an extremely short review because I can't really say much about the book that wouldn't be giving away major spoilers. Suffice to say, Toby gets quite a few shocks in this one. As always, the characters are awesome. There are some really good Tybalt moments. I'm very excited to see where the series goes from here!

Review:
Wow! What a crazy good book! And damn you KMM for ending it like that!!!!! But how I love it...always have :)
Absolutely fantastic to be back in the Fever world and yay tons of Barrons in this book vs the last one. As usual some OMG I didn't see that coming! Just please please please don't make us wait 2 years for the next one KMM! This was definitely a bunch of subplots feeding the big picture and it brought all of the major game players back together. The parts with Lor were hilarious too! He may just be my favorite of the 9 after Barrons. I devoured this book on release day because I just had to know what happens. *sighs* I feel a major case of book hangover happening. Fever fans go out and pick this one!

Review: I liked the first and second books in this series but they're getting kind of complicated in a bad way. I'm starting to loose track of who is who and what is going on. Think this series would make a good graphic novel or manga. I need some visuals to keep things straight!

Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane
2nd Book in Series: Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane
Read: 1/24/15
Rating: ☆☆☆☆
Review: Although I liked the first book in this series, I loved this one! It makes a big difference to me once I know the characters and have some of the background. It's like I can actually enjoy the story as it unfolds rather than trying to assimilate and process new information to make sure I'm keeping everything and everyone straight. The Downside Ghosts world is a dark one and Chess is a flawed character, but somehow Stacia Kane makes its so I want to live in their world and root for Chess. I'm turning each page wondering what's going to happen next. I was totally engrossed in this story - reading it in a day. There were times I wanted to smack Chess and I'm hoping she is able to make things right since it's only book two. But her background and mine are worlds apart so I'm going to cut her a break. ;)

Rating: 4stars

Review: Started off slow and didn't know if it was just because I hadn't read book one or not. As I got into the story and learned Anne's background it held my interest more. I liked that it was an historical romance that spanned from the East to the West of the United States. Great characters and interactions amongst them with a sadness and some darkness and fear throughout. Nice closure. I need to go back and read book one Love's Sorrow.
Rochenski is a new to me author and I look forward to reading other romances she's written.

While it was enjoyable it was very predictable. Not that there's that many unpredictable books any more lol. I did like the characters and Ian was pretty swoon worthy. It's been a very long time since I read book 1 but I don't think it really mattered. This could of just as easily been read as a standalone. I'm a sucker for the Scottish brogue and it's been a while since I had my fix!

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 2511 comments Well a foot of snow so far and still coming down! Plowed out about an hour ago for the first time. I went out and shoveled behind my car and the driver's side. Will go out later and clear it off and do the passenger side. We have 3 cars and only a 2 car garage. My husband is supposed to pick up his new car tomorrow and then 2 cars will be parked on the driveway.
Not sure if we'll be going anywhere since roads are not plowed and it's not supposed to end until maybe 1am. Still expecting about 2 1/2 feet total. Will keep you posted.
Hope everyone has a great day and no one else is in the path of this storm.

Review

In a way, I'm glad I waited so long to read this because with the way it ended, I would not have wanted to wait a super long time to read book 3. It took me a while to get into the book, mainly due to the fact that it had been so long since I read Angelfall that I had forgotten most of what had happened except for the very end of the book. Once I got myself caught up though, I really sped through the book. I still love Penryn, and she continues to show what a strong person she is as she faces situations no one should have to deal with. There is some very powerful imagery throughout the book, and I may be forever haunted by (view spoiler) Suffice to say, I'm ready for book 3 to come out now please!
