The Curse of Sins by Kate Dramis
was a disappointment... The first book of the series was ok, but this one rambled on and on and on....(sure I would like to know how the story ends, but...)

Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller
Read a satisfying satire after ages!

I started Twenty by Debra Landwehr-Engle on audiobook in an effort to get through my backlog faster, but I'm not really feeling it. I'll give it a few more chapters and if it's still not grabbing me, I will switch format before I give it a DNF
This is South Africa during its time of turbulent change. The author didn't know she was a privileged white girl until her eyes were opened. It Wasn't Roaring, It Was Weeping: Interpreting the Language of Our Fathers Without Repeating Their Stories. It's quite a story.
My review of It Wasn't Roaring, It Was Weeping...
Some British history. An excellent look at what we actually know about the sexuality of Edward II and how it's portrayed in both non-fiction and fiction. Very eye-opening and somewhat disillusioning, as so many harmful stereotypes of both women and LGBTQ+ people continue to persist. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft
.... Big Disappointment!2 Stars

We Solve Murders by Richard Osman is very entertaining, more thriller than cosy mystery, with a host of wonderful characters and Osman's trademark humour.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Arson. Homicide. Murder. Perfect for a movie.

Aisle Nine by Ian X. Cho
started off funny, but fizzled..A low 3 stars

Who says cats and dogs are enemies? In Fred Blunt's picture book, All You Need To Know About Dogs: By A. Cat, the cat is merely disdainful of rambunctious dogs, until...
My review of All You Need To Know About Dogs with several illustrations
The Dragon in Winter by Jonathan Maberry (Kagen the Damned, #3)
was just like the first two books in the series, slow. Mostly telling the story, so it dragged all 592 pages.
But the narrator, since I both read and listened, did a good job giving life to flat characters.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Excerpt) by TJ Klune
Had I known this was an excerpt when I requested it, I never would have, but worse, to this date I've seen it titled both ways on my NetGalley bookshelf.
Takes some trust away from the publisher (and the book) when they are inconsistent like this.
I didn't make an official review, just added a comment.

The Trial of Mrs. Rhinelander by Denny S. Bryce
A book based on the actual Rhinelander vs. Rhinelander case in 1925 in the USA. Would have worked better for me if it actually focussed more on the legal proceedings than staying put on the outside of the courtroom.

The Cracked Mirror by Chris Brookmyre is an entertaining hybrid of cozy and hard boiled mystery with a twist I defy anyone to see coming!review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Maria: A Novel of Maria von Trapp by Michelle Moran
A good option for fans of 'The Sound of Music, as long as you don't mind your hearts breaking.

A good political thriller in the sci-fi space. The story is closer to 3.5 stars for me.

Feral Creatures of Suburbia by D. Liebhart
One of the best indie novels I have read in a long time. Great use of the triple narrative voices.

I got The Mercy of Gods by James S.A. Corey

The Spice Gate by Prashanth Srivatsa
Not gonna lie, I had a jolly good time writing this review, which compensated for how bored I was while reading the book.

Her Lonely Soul by S.A. Dunphy
The weakest book in the Tessa Burns series for me, though it had its good moments.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Phoenix Keeper by S.A. MacLean
not a bad cosy YA fantasy.3 Stars

⭐⭐⭐.5 for
The End of Tennessee: A Memoir by Rachel M. Hanson https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Pulitzer-winner Elizabeth Strout has asked her much-loved characters to Tell Me Everything, and some of them open up. I reckon she should add I'm listening! because that's why they're talking. Wonderful book. Love it, of course.
My review of Tell Me Everything!
Beyond Ivy Walls by Rachel Fordham
A charming old-world clean romance. I don't often pick up romance books, but make an exception for a few authors. Rachel Fordham is one of them.

⭐⭐⭐.8 for
Interpretations of Love by Jane Campbell https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Both plot and cast of characters will remain with me for a long time to come and I will probably revise my rating upwards when I have thought more about it. 💖📚
The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer
While this is getting mixed reviews, it actually worked pretty well for me. Don't expect a faithful Narnia retelling. Great for portal fantasy lovers.

Just finished listening to the Dreamscape media version of
by the late John le Carré and wrote my thought of the audiobook version here!

A political fantasy. I got bored because there wasn't much action. But the MC and plot were interesting.3 Stars

If you have any impatient little 'saplings' in your life, In Time by author/artist Marina Ruiz is a lovely children's book about the value of WAITING. Very cute.

This book doesn't disappoint! Ethan Joella is one of the few male authors to write characters' emotions so well.
