L'Air du Temps by Diane Greco Josefowicz opens with a murder and becomes a thoughtful insight into a 13-year-old in 1985 who starts to question what's going on with her parents. A good read.

I forced my way through I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons by Peter S. Beagle
. I feel it's more aimed towards tweens, not adults. And even though the title sounds as if it's funny, it's not. Sure there were a few, but not enough.

Lies and Weddings by Kevin KwanI had been approved for this months ago but saved it to read while on vacation -- a perfect pairing.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just can't get into his writing. I tried Crazy Rich Asians because I loved the film and I requested an ARC of this but had to return and say 'it's me not you'
I Died on a Tuesday by Jane Corry features three characters involved in a legal trial for a 20 year unsolved hit and run accident that changed the 18 year old victim's life forever.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Alison wrote: "I just can't get into his writing. I tried Crazy Rich Asians because I loved the film and I requested an ARC of this but had to return and say 'it's me not you'"In Kwan's earlier novels, he had gone overboard with the fashion / haute couture identify. Thankfully he didn't do that with this novel. Instead, he kept listing characters' academic resumes.
Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera
Not sure if I would have liked this had I actually read it, but the audiobook made the experience fun.

Storm Child by Aussie author Michael Robotham is the latest in his always excellent Cyrus Haven series. The action is in Scotland this time. I wish this unsettling, timely story weren't so believable.
My review of Storm Child
Gotta love a feisty role model who sticks to her standards. Taylor Swift by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is a well-illustrated children's bio of this popular entertainer who seems to be right up there with Elvis and the Beatles when it comes to her fans - the Swifties. Nice girl.
My review of Taylor Swift with several illustrations that do her justice
The Legendary Mo Seto by A.Y. Chan
Though I did have some minor issues with this middle-grade fiction, I still enjoyed it a lot. I'm sure kids will love it even more.

I was glad to hear Aussie author and former journo Tim Ayliffe say he plans to continue his John Bailey series in and around Sydney. I just enjoyed the latest, #5, The Wrong Man. I know those parts of Sydney but luckily not the dangerous kinds of people Bailey gets mixed up with.
