I’m just getting ready to start YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID by K.T. NGUYEN. I’m pretty pumped to read it. Most of the reviews I’ve seen are good. Pub Day is just around the corner!!

Great read if you love Scottish Historicals only $2.99 on Amazon over 300 pages. You can read as a stand alone book. It is a 3 book trilogy
Happy Publication Day!
A Clock Stopped Dead by J.M. Hall ⭐⭐⭐.5 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Thank goodness I can count on Irish author John Boyne to write interesting, thought-provoking stories. Earth, the latest in his Elements quartet of linked novels, is up there with the best of them.
My review of Earth
The Hungry Dark by Jen Williams
was not scary and the only thing creepy was her father.2 Stars

Pulitzer winning American author Andrew Sean Greer has written a warm, funny account of his and his mother's road trip, My Mother and Other Wild Animals. They are great friends but mismatched travel companions. It's short and enjoyable.
My review of My Mother and Other Wild Animals
Frank and Red by Matt Coyne
One of the sweetest stories I have ever read. The titular characters are the best!

What Happened to Us? by Faith Hogan ⭐⭐⭐.7 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished KT NGUYEN’s “You Know What You Did.” Great twisted suspense/thriller novel. Loved it. It was published 4/16/24!
Why Netgalley do not allow to update the reviews directly on Goodreads anymore? Not happening like earlier.

The Meiji Guillotine Murders
4 stars
Beautiful murder mystery
Read as an ARC

Has translated well

Our Daughter, Who Art in America by Mukana Press
An interesting anthology for those who would enjoy short stories infused with African culture.

Who says education can't be fun? The World is Full of Nouns by Elizabeth Lareau will set them straight! Lots of colourful pictures with some nouns identified and where kids can find even more 'things'.
Link to my review of The World is Full of Nouns with several of the illustrations
Irish-Aussie author Dervla McTiernan has returned to the US, up in Vermont this time, to ask What Happened to Nina?. I still miss her Dublin mysteries, but I certainly enjoyed this one,
My review of What Happened to Nina?
The Lost Letters of Rose Carey
by Julie Bennett and my five star review.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I liked Dragon Rider
by Taran MatharuSure there was a lot of slowing down of the plot and a major cliffhanger, but I'll be looking for the next in the series.
A low 4 Stars

Extinction by Douglas Preston
started off really good! But then by the 5th(ish) chapter, it started to ramble and I already had a guess of who/what did it, and I was bored by the end. The who/what/why explanation I thought was a little lame. 3 Stars

The Ghost Writer by bestselling author Loreth Anne White is an entertaining short story with a good creepy atmosphere. It's another of Amazon's Original Stories.
My review of The Ghost Writer
Walking on Hidden Wings: A Novel of the Roaring Twenties
by Rachel Scott McDaniel and my five star review.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Great Divide by Cristina Henríquez
A novel not about the Panama Canal, but set during the construction of the canal. If you love character-oriented fiction, this is a great option to try.

The Shadow Key by Susan Stokes-Chapman
A mixed bag for me. The atmosphere is great, but the characters and the infodump endings somewhat ruined the overall satisfaction. this book is currently available to request on Netgalley, though I read it from another source.

Kelsey is bubbly when they move into their new (to them) house, but Lauren is freaking out about being watched from The Other Side of the Road. I enjoyed thriller writer Andrea Bartz's suspenseful story and the ending I didn't expect.
My review of The Other Side of the Road
I liked The Last Phi Hunter by Salinee Goldenberg
! The audio did have a few flaws, (but the narrator was good) and the cover doesn't match very well, but the story was great!4 Stars

Ah - a couple of goodies from the #NeverTell short story collection. Both are about women in the desert in very different, life-threatening circumstances. Deserts lend themselves to mystery, I think. One woman is a crook, while one is a tattooist.
This one is the crook:
Scorpions by Rachel Howzell HallMy review of Scorpions

This one is the tattooist
Jackrabbit Skin by Ivy PochodaMy review of Jackrabbit Skin
The Sword Unbound by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan,
such a disappointing flop. The title, the cover... ooo action. Nope, just a lot of rambling blah blah blah....I skimmed, then gave up and skipped to the end!

in Did I Kill my Husband? by A.J. Campbell Christina Blake is driving home at night in terrible weather conditions when she hits something - she gets out of her car but can’t see anything so assumes it was a deer and it has run off.
Now her husband is in the hospital - a victim of a hit-and-run.
Hmmm does Christina want to kill her husband?
Here are my 4 star comments ~

Popular author
Catherine Ryan Hyde
chose an intriguing title, Life, Loss, and Puffins for her story of two kids, outsiders (one's only 13!), who embark on a quest/road trip, seeking real experiences, away from classrooms and screens. I suspended disbelief and enjoyed the ride.
My review of Life, Loss, and Puffins
Behind a Closed Door by J.D. Barker is certainly very different from his previous books, but just as clever and twisty. review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Afghanistan by Michael KerriganIt is an amazing start and factually correct with nice pictures from the time depicted.
A cute new children's picture book, A Wild Windy Night by Yui Abe is wilder and windier than little Ricky expected!
My review of A Wild Windy Night
Caroline Kepnes woke up The Bad Friend with a satisfying (to me) surprise in her short story from the #NeverTell collection.
My review of The Bad Friend
Small Hours by Bobby Palmer
Not as fabulous as his debut novel, but still a wonderful read. Great for literary fiction and magical realism readers.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Spin of Fate by A.A. Vora
was a disappointment. There was too much 'teenage drama' and 'training' that buried the magic and not enough details to dig it out.2 Stars

I like this children's series that celebrates Big Dreamers. It shows the Little People they once were. Rafa Nadal by Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara (aka Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara) is about a favourite tennis champion many of us love seeing on the courts.
My review of Rafa Nadal
I'm reading Castles of the World: From Ancient Citadels to Modern Palaces. I got this book via NG but not it is archived. Though it is already in my app and I'm reading it but now it is not showing "GIVE FEEDBACK" option on website to review it.Can Anyone here help on this issue pls.
Ankit wrote: "I'm reading Castles of the World: From Ancient Citadels to Modern Palaces. I got this book via NG but not it is archived. But if you aren't able to see it on your shelf even after logging in, you will need to contact NG Support. If you can't see the option on your phone browser, try logging in from a comp.
Operation: Happy by Jenni L. Walsh
A middle grade historical fiction based on a memoir. Contains some traumatic incidents that might be too much for sensitive children. A good option, otherwise.
