needs a lot more recapping from the first book! What there was, was scattered throughout the story, with a major entry in the last couple of chapters.... 2 Stars

Shock Front
4 stars

Really enjoyed
The Daughter by T.M. LoganTM Logan Here's my 5* review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
You will not want to send your daughters to Uni after reading this!!
The Fourth Consort by Edward Ashton
was a good story but had a lot of similarities with the author's Mickey series.3 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Reviewed one of my backlog that I read last year.
Hidden Bones (Detective Ellie Reeves #6) by Rita Herron
My Review - 4 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The mystery in Clare Leslie Hall's Broken Country is the result of a tangled love triangle over many years. I did not guess the ending, which is always a good thing.
My review of Broken Country
The Otherwhere Post by Emily J. Taylor
An interesting YA fantasy with dark academia and fae elements. Great for those who enjoy this genre.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Korean author and Nobel Prize winner Han Kang's recently translated novel, We Do Not Part, uses dreams and magical realism to reveal the history trying to hide under the clean snowy landscape of Jeju Island.
My review of We Do Not Part
Splinter Effect by Andrew Ludington
was a pretty good story.3 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Many Futures of Maddy Hart by Laura Pearson
An interesting contemporary drama that could have been even better had the ending been more defined.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Murder in the Tuscan Hills
3.5 stars for me.
I read this as a NetGalley review copy. Murder mystery.
Feb 2025 release.

The Prince Without Sorrow by Maithree Wijesekara
was disappointing. 2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Where Shadows Meet by Patrice Caldwell
is lacking in world and 'creature' building.2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Notorious Virtues by Alwyn Hamilton
was good... action, suspense, and a twist~! The book cover is great, but the story isn't that 'busy' or supernatural. 3 Stars

(Also a little scary as it could be a glimpse into our own future...)
Two wonderful graphic novels, though each is quite different from the other. 1. Happy Endings by Lucie Bryon
A compilation of three witty "happy endings." Enjoyed this a lot!
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
2. God with Us: Bible Stories on the Road to Emmaus by Matt Mikalatos
Uses the biblical story of the journey to Emmaus to present some interesting correlations between the Old and New Testaments. A bit tricky for the target age group of middle-graders, but could work for older readers.

The Bookseller by Valerie KeoghMy review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just because the character in the book really rubbed me the wrong way, should not stop you from reading this book.
Black Woods, Blue Sky by Eowyn Ivey
Loved this Alaskan literary fiction. Don't read it as a 'Beauty & the Beast' retelling though some blurbs have tagged it as such.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A little late with this one but I really enjoyed it.
Track Her Down (Bree Taggert #9) by Melinda Leigh
My Review - 4 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Another one I was a little behind on but was a fantastic read.
The Next Grave (Columbia River #6) by Kendra Elliot
My Review - 4 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett
is a good story, but Ana, one of the MCs, ruins it for me. The story is in 1st person, told by Din, so Ana 'tells' her side of things and that part is boring.2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Cobbler's Apprentice by Lynette Rees
It's so annoying when series books are marked as standalones! This historical fiction has a decent plot, but not knowing the background of the characters, I just couldn't get into it
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished listening to The Socialite's Guide to Sleuthing and Secrets by S.K. Golden, and am reading The Secret Detective Agencyby Helena Dixon.
A fantastic YA thriller.
We Were Warned by Chelsea Ichaso
My Review - 4 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Faithbreaker by Hannah Kaner
was a good ending to the series but moved at a very slow pace, and the characters lacked emotions.2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Give Up the Night
by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast was ok, but read more as if intended for the preteen age group.3 Stars

Their Monstrous Hearts by Yigit Turhan

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Hollow Ground
3.5 stars for me.
#netgalley
well-crafted crime thriller
My review here - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Jane Austen's Bookshelf: A Rare Book Collector's Quest to Find the Women Writers Who Shaped a Legend by Rebecca Romney
A fascinating book about the women writers who broke the norms before Austen. A great choice for all classic lit lovers.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Cosmos Keys: An Archaeological Thriller of Lost Civilizations, Ancient Machines, and a Deadly Secret
4 stars Read as an ARC. NetGalley.
Intriguing mix of history, archaeology, and high-stakes adventure, somewhat of a cross between an Indiana Jones adventure and the Da Vinci Code.
My review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A great historical romance.
Good Duke Gone Wild (Bluestocking Booksellers, #1) by Bethany Bennett
My Review - 4 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
House of Blight
by Maxym M. Martineau was typical of the genre and an ok read, but I don't see myself reading the next book in the series.3 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Enemy Within
4 stars
NetGalley review copy
high-stakes thriller

When the Bones Sing by Ginny Myers Sain
A YA book that would work well for the YA audience.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Who Wants to Live Forever by Hanna Thomas Uose
One of the most thought-provoking debuts I have read. Had the ending worked better for me, I'd have gone even higher in my rating.
