Upon a Starlit Tide by Kell Woods
Supposed to be an adult historical fantasy combining Cinderella and The Little Mermaid. but the writing style was a bit too YA for my liking. If you still want to try this, do NOT opt for the audio.

Some lovely children's reads from NetGalley:1. Disney Fairies 4 in 1 Vol. 4
I didn't like the first combo volume, but this one was a big hit at home. The graphic novel format works slightly mixed though.

2. The Adventures of Penguin and Panda: In the Dark (Vol 4): A Graphic Novel
Not my favourite of the series, but a great graphic novel nonetheless.

3. Wanda Hears the Stars: A Blind Astronomer Listens to the Universe
An amazing and inspirational picture book about an actual blind astronomer.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.4 for this sweeping story of family, love, resilience and survival set during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong in WWII.
When Sleeping Women Wake by Emma Pei Yin https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Traveling Left of Center and Other Stories by Nancy Christie
A wonderful story collection about women who don't live as expected.

Just read a fantastic book by Philip Gwynne Jones. Can't rate this author highly enough. Out on 3 July 2025
The Magus of Sicily by Philip Gwynne JonesSee my 5 star review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Mastery of Monsters by Liselle Sambury
was one of those books I thought about DNFing, I didn't... But the story did get better, but wasn't great.2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Soul of Shadow by Emma Noyes
was a neat YA take on Norse Mythology. Not bad.
3 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
All the Ash We Leave Behind by C. Robert Cargill
was a decent addition to the series, but I wish there had been more pages to add those layers the other books created!3 Stars

The Teacher of Auschwitz by Wendy Holden
Sounds like yet another typical WWII fiction with 'Auschwitz' in the title, but this one is surprisingly well handled.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Every Hour Until Then by Gabrielle Meyer
This is the latest entry in one of my absolute favourite historical fiction series, and the author has continued to maintain her high standard.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
House of the Beast by Michelle Wong
was a good story, and I could relate to how the MC felt growing up.3 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This is a book about sisterhood and madness - it's an absolute fever dream and so beautiful!Mad Sisters of Esi
My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mistress of Bones by Maria Z. Medina
was ok. It didn't have the 'action' I was expecting. a low
3 Stars

Sheepdogs by Elliot Ackerman
, while it was interesting, it was still a flop... Not that funny or action-packed.2 Stars

When novels are failing me left, right and centre, graphic novels are turning out to be the rainbows! Absolutely loved these three:1. Pacheco and the Witch of the Mountain: A Graphic Novel by Juan E. Zambrano
A middle-grade graphic novel with an aspiring "boy witch".
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
2. The Lost Sunday by Iléana Surducan
After a long, long time, a book earned the full five stars from me. This graphic novels is meant for kids and adults alike.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
3. The Fairy Tale Fixers: Cinderella: A Graphic Novel by Deborah Underwood
This one is perfect for younger kids who love fractured fairy tales.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Bone Raiders by Jackson Ford
didn't have a lot of 'fire-breathing lizard action as I'd hoped! Plus, it was a slow read.2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Sentence: Stories by Mikhail Iossel
A collection of one-sentence stories that simply didn't come together.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood
The best thing about this cozy fantasy was probably the cover. Mine is an outlier review.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Lord of Ruin by K.M. Enright
had a decent plot, but it was slow, but worse was the 'adult content'. I knew it was going to be there because it was in the first, but even though I skipped it, it made the story even slower. Mostly because of the chance of porn, I don't care to read the next book in the series.

I read 31 Days of Spooky
for NetGalley's Camp badge as it was the only one on their limited selection that I could see myself trying to read... The short (telling) stories were ok, but more suitable for readers around ten or so.

Michael Without Apology by Catherine Ryan Hyde
Such a beautiful book, which shouldn't be a surprise considering who the author is. Much recommended despite the dragged ending.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Fantastic upcoming book
Kiss her Goodbye by Lisa GardnerLisa Gardner - cant recommend it enough see my 5* review here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Amy wrote: "I started the new Nicholas Sparks book with M Night Shamalan. Very excited I got approved."Nicholas Sparks with M Night Shyamalan?!?! Now that's a combination I never thought I would see! 😃 Hope the book is good.
The Ex-Wives Club by Sally Hepworth
The second story of the Alibis collection works much better a a domestic suspense than as a thriller. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Voidwalker by S.A. MacLean
was a good story, but ruined by the multiple 'open door' scenes and a few unfinished explainations.3 Stars

My first T. Kingfisher, and it didn't disappoint!Hemlock & Silver
My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The weakest two stories of the Alibi collection are the middle two stories. Story #3: False Note by David Lagercrantz
I don't know if anything was lost in translation, but I didn't like this much.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Story #4: The Skydivers by Chris Bohjalian
The ending makes this among the worst short stories I have ever read.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Mother's Guide to the Apocalypse by Hollie Overton
wasn't the best read, but it was ok.2 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Good Vampire's Guide to Blood & Boyfriends by Jamie D'Amato
is a cute YA cozy, but also talks about attempted s... So maybe more suitable for mature YA readers or a group read.3 Stars

Billie's Not So Secret Diary wrote: "Highly recommend Fateless by Julie Kagawa
!! Action, adventure, and fantasy! Some violence, a little romantic interest, but suitable for readers 14+4 Stars!"

This Is Happiness by Niall Williams
One of the most beautifully written books I have ever read, even though it has a minimal plot. A great option for literary fiction lovers.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Two of the better stories in the Alibis collection.Story #5: Good Neighbors by Chad Zunker
The only "thriller" in the entire set.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Story #6: Small Things by Wanda M. Morris
I'd have liked it even better had the ending contained some crucial details.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Curse of Gods by Kate Dramis
is a great conclusion to this series! Blew the first two books out of the water!4 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Whispers by Ashley Audrain
A domestic drama. Not as good as the author's debut work, but a good (dark) entertainer.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Born of an Iron Storm by Anthony Ryan
was a slow read... Multiple characters over an extended timeline (a year or more?) More telling than showing. Doubt I'll read the next.
2 Stars

House of Dusk by Deva Fagan
I like this story and the narrator did a great job, but had I re-read the blurb before starting the audio, I don't think I would've enjoyed it as much.4 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Twist of Fate by Se-ah Jang
This contemporary mystery could have been as outstanding as the cover, but either the writing style or the translation (or possibly both) fail.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Honorable Con by Michele C. Shaw
is not a bad story, and I would like to read the next.3 Stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
⭐⭐⭐.8 for #1 in the Sandy Harbor series,
All the Ways You Save Me by Melissa Wiesner https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Bourne Escape

Read as an ARC from NetGalley
Jason Bourne is back and close to canon.

I've just downloaded The Peculiar Incident at Thistlewick House
Jenni Keer
Can anyone tell me why, when I send the book to my kindle, the book's cover doesn't always come in? Thanks in advance. I find it annoying when I'm writing a review.

I'm also facing same issue in most of the books. In addition, what I read in Kindle Paperwhite is not getting synced with Mobile app.
