The Chaos Kind by Barry Eisler
This combines characters from his two other most popular series. As this is the first thing I've read from this author, I can easily report that it works fine as a standalone. Spies on spies action.
My review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/4266782665
I do like a short story. Alexander McCall Smith has written some that were inspired by early 20th-century photos, including the title story Pianos and Flowers: Brief Encounters of the Romantic Kind. I especially loved Blackmail!
3.5★ Link to my review of Pianos and Flowers with a couple of the photographs.
My Daughter's Mistake by Kate Hewitt ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

What is it about kids and bottoms?! A Brief History of Underpants by Christine Van Zandt uses plays on words ("brief" history) and cartoons by Harry Briggs to tell interesting "back" stories from ancient times to the space age.

Just finished
Mercy by David BaldacciDavid Baldacci Here's my 5 star review
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am still really trying to read
and i am still struggling. Anyone else read this one? I keep wondering if what i can only describe as "rough edges" & perhaps the fact the language used that for me prevents it flowing is down to the fact it has been translated to English.
The Translation of the Seventy: History, Reception, and Contemporary Use of the Septuagint
25% read in one sitting, 5 stars from me so far. It's a story behind the first Greek translation of the Old Testament both for beginners and advanced scholars.
So, it's rare but I have finally given up on
I just couldn't read any further. The blurb sounded great, I thought the cover was great too.My next read is
I just finished Wish You Were Here Not my favorite Jodi Picoult book. My 3.5 star review:

The Incredible Winston Browne by Sean Dietrich is a warm, poignant heartstring-tugger about small town America in the 1950s. Readers will eat it up, I bet.
4★ Link to my Winston Browne review
I recently reviewed the Andy Warhol book from this series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and he always makes me think of Marilyn Monroe, whose rise from lonely little girl to fabulous movie star is captured here (sadly no Warhol pictures).
5★ Link to my review of Marilyn Monroe with several illustrations.

What a fantastic cover and what an odd book. The 1800s were full of fortune-hunters, in all senses of the word, all over the world. Fortune by Lenny Bartulin is wild historical fiction.

After a long hiatus, Ilona Andrews have returned to their Kinsnen series with this novella -
Fated BladesI haven't read the preceding installments which were really just short stories. There's plenty of world-building here with a Sci-fi setting instead of their usual UF.

Paper Girl and the Knives that Made Her
In the middle of this poetry collection. Unfortunately, I read previous reviews (as I always do before requesting), and one review was particularly harsh yet honest. The author of the book states, she uses both her own experience and fiction to create a picture of sexual assault, rape, heartbreak, and self-improvement. And because I can't distinguish where is fiction, where is the 'real stuff,' everything seems fictitious and unreliable.
A Terrible, Horrible, No Good Year: Hundreds of Stories on the Pandemic. Larry Smith, editor, started this project. Kids, teachers, parents all contributed thoughts. My review includes funny, poignant philosophies.
5★ Link to my review of Terrible, Horrible ... etc.
