Her Second Death (Bree Taggert #0.5) is a prequel to Melinda Leigh's homicide detective Bree Taggert crime series. I had never read any of this author's work before, but I enjoyed this introduction enough to consider reading the series.

You win some, you lose some. This is another from Amazon Original Stories, and I've been enjoying them (as above), but for me, Chandler Baker's Oh. What. Fun. was Not.Much.Fun. But others like it, so you might.

"Prose and Cons (A Lily Dale Mystery, #4)" by Wendy Cosi Staub was a great audiobook. If you like a Cozy Mystery with a bit of paranormal, you may like it as well.

There should be lots of books like this for kids (and their grown-ups). It's beautiful, it's informative, it's scary, and it's funny! What's not to like about Nenek Tata and the Mangrove Menace (set in Sabah, Malaysia) by Judith Vun Price

I enjoyed Aussie investigative journo John Bailey's second outing so much, State of Fear, that I'm now reading the third one! Tim Ayliffe is an excellent writer whose characters are hunting terrorists - right now!

I just read the graphic publication The Pronoun Book, by Cassandra Jules Corrigan. It tries to explain how people choose to identify themselves and how we should refer to them and each other. Bi, non-binary, trans, other gender issues are here. It's certainly a tricky business, and this is one place to start to understand it.

Kamala Harris by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is a colourful look at the current US Vice President. She is a first in so many ways! Little people BIG DREAMS is a great little series of books.

I absolutely love this book. You can find my review but don't do it yet! You have to finish. My book club is going to read it and Diane Chamberlain is speaking here on her book tour. I can't wait.

What Happened to the Bennetts by Lisa Scottoline. To say that I loved the book is putting it mildly. Ever since the car chase, Scottoline, never let her foot off the gas and left me eagerly paging through the novel to reach the finish line.

One of the the girls by Lucy ClarkeLucy Clarke - a great author I was only introduced to earlier this year, but now a firm favourite. Here's my 5 star review

Currently planning to clear my shelf on Netgalley lol. I have some books I want to read ASAP. Btw awesome readers, I have a question for you all. To organise my books I have made a book tracker (which I use for myself as well). Will anybody be interested? Don't worry it's free. I just thought to share with others who keep piling their TBRs and forget (like me...)

The Girl Upstairs by Georgina Lees This is a good character driven debut novel, and I will certainly be reading Lees next book. https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/... https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Started a Christmas read,
The Cranberry Inn by Barbara Josselsohn
Recently finished "Dreaming of Flight" a wonderful tender story by Catherine Ryan Hyde.I am a big psychological thriller fan; so this was a different read for me. In fact, I went into it clueless but I love this author so was sure it would be good.
Here are my 5 star comments ~ BTW: I give very few 5 star ratings!!!

Safecracker by Ryan Wick is a really good thriller featuring a charming thief forced to work with a ruthless female assassinreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
One Night on the Island by Josie Silver. The raw richness of emotions to the characters risking everything in pursuit of happiness, Silver pens protagonists that are filled with heart, humor and humanity. Closing the final chapter, I could pick Cleo and Mack out of a line up and rooted for their happiness.

The Marriage Test by Suzanne Redfearn is another of the Amazon Original Stories by well-known authors. This test isn't like anything else I've ever heard of!

I didn't know Iris Apfel's story at all, but Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara has told it well in the Little People BIG DREAMS series. From childhood, Apfel marched to her own drum, became a fashion icon, and encouraged children everywhere to follow their passions.
4.5★ Link to my review of Iris Apfel
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë and adapted by Stacy King - the graphic novel version. I had requested this because one of my groups is featuring it as a BOTM. Several weeks have elapsed and since it's not a brand new title, I borrowed it from my library. My review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/4402696025

Finished my first Netgalley book for 2022 and it was excellent.
Her Hidden Genius by Marie Benedict is based on the life of Rosalind Franklin who was instrumental in collecting the data Watson & Crick used without her knowledge to develop their Nobel Prize winning model of the DNA helix. It's well done and a good read if you enjoy historical fiction based on on real people. my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've just started Dust Bowl Orphans, three chapters in it looks promising. A look at the migration from Oklahoma to California in the 1930s from an African American perspective.
I'm 65% of the way through after struggling through the writing and the dialogue, but the story is interesting at least. I'm just confused about the region (whether fictional or somewhat real) this book is set and the lack of world building. An interesting story can only do so much.
Yesterday read Pablo Picasso by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara in the Little People BIG DREAMS series. It’s so delightful and the artwork gorgeous.
