A 2020 release I'm happy to recommend. Small Mercies by Richard Anderson is an excellent read about a couple dealing with drought and doubt and two adult sons.

Even for Jeanette Winterson this is an unusual, funny, thought-provoking, historical fiction/sci-fi/sex-romp/love story. I’m not surprised Frankissstein: A Love Story was long-listed for the 2019 Booker. Hilarious and scary!

I enjoyed this excellent, timely read that Aussie author and journalist Julia Baird has been researching for a long time. Phosphorescence: On Awe, Wonder and Things That Sustain You When the World Goes Dark just happened to be launched during a pandemic, right when we need it!
