Rebecca wrote: "I'll take the murder mystery. I know I have several of those. Thank you."Absolutely welcome. :)
Gail, I'm sorry I'm making it difficult by trading tasks I've already traded. I'm taking Rebecca's 10th Round book for Horror. I will read The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells for that. This will actually be my Round 6 task being moved from Round Two where I was going to read Sharon's murder mystery.(Now Rebecca is reading it for her Round 10)
Damn, I'm confusing myself with this. I should phrase it better:
Rebecca will be reading Sharon's R2 task
Sharon will still be reading my R6 task and
I will read Rebecca's R10 task.
And I will be reading the 'tree on cover' task, which was assigned to Dawn, but was your task originally. And Dawn is taking my 'read whatever you like' book from the pool.
Hope you can make sense of all this, Gail! ;)
Tasha wrote: "Gail, Tejas Janet and I have switched a task my third roll 27 for her 4th roll #29 it is a YA book I am going to search my shelves now"I can't find where Tejas Janet wrote about her fourth roll. Where did she post? (I just need to know what number she rolled to get onto space 29 - I'm too tired to do the maths!)
Please can people post all their rolls and where they land in this thread.
Ah never mind - her previous roll was 25, so that's easy maths! But please can people post their rolls here, or I get confused!
Gail wrote: "Ah never mind - her previous roll was 25, so that's easy maths! But please can people post their rolls here, or I get confused!"I hadn't reported it here yet, but have now updated my reporting post in msg 19 which shows all my rolls and outcomes in one place.
But here's the info for my 4th roll : )
4th Roll: 4
Space: 29
Task: Read a book YA book
Keeping or swapping: swapping
Swapping with Tasha for her round 4 to read a book with a professor or college student as a main character
Book:
The Rosie Project
Status: tbr
Thanks Gail for tracking all this!!! You're doing a great job!!!
Dawn wrote: "Gail, I'm sorry I'm making it difficult by trading tasks I've already traded. ..."Lol, it's fine. It was the same with the tree task you traded (that had originally been my task, so was a reswap too). I think I've figured it out and recorded it correctly on the spreadsheet, but please will you check and let me know if I've made any errors?
Tejas Janet wrote: "I hadn't reported it here yet, but have now updated my reporting post in msg 19 which shows all my rolls and outcomes in one place...."Oh gosh, I didn't realise people were going back to previous posts and editing them.
Has anyone else done this?
Gail, you have my posts all correct! It is amazing how you can organize all our swaps etc. so well! You're doing a wonderful job, thanks!
And, no, I haven't been editing my previous posts... ;)
No, I don't believe anyone else is doing this. For each time I've rolled, I've noted my update to my reporting post in a new message in this thread as well as noting whatever the new info was that I'd added. So no worries!!Note, the reason for doing that is to have a single place for each team member to report all their info. It's something that has been done in some challenges as a way of making it easier for the moderator or team leader/s to track everything. The tracking only thread can really mushroom, especially in cases where a single moderator is tracking all the participants in a challenge. I'm doing it because I like having a place where I track my own info in a single spot.
Ah okay. It is a good idea, but I just didn't think of it, or I'd have asked everyone to do it! Maybe once the Toppler begins - maybe I can even make a new thread to do this.

Thanks, Elsbeth. I'm glad I made a spreadsheet - I think I'd find it impossible to keep track without it! :-)

I think we all would find it impossible to keep track without it!

You are doing a great job Gail. Sorry about the posting, as I didn't know what Tejas Janet had rolled when we swapped. I am glad we got it cleared up. This can definitely get confusing with the swaps and what everyone is doing
I don't think there is a perfect "best" way to track everything. This toppler is especially complicated and you're doing a fantastic job keeping us organized. Everyone can simply look at their info on the spreadsheet and see their info there in a single place. I just chose to have a spot within the reporting thread to do this for my own recording. This seems to be working fine so maybe no need to change it. But maybe during the toppler we could really only use this thread to report as we complete each task. Just something short and to the point. Like "Tejas Janet completed task for Round 1" etc. ??
Yes, I was thinking it needs to be different once everyone is simply reporting what they complete. Maybe a new thread for completed tasks only. And then people could still use this one for new rolls and swaps.
Gail wrote: "Yes, I was thinking it needs to be different once everyone is simply reporting what they complete. Maybe a new thread for completed tasks only. And then people could still use this one for new roll..."Makes sense for maybe a new thread since we probably will be still rolling during the game
Gail wrote: "but please will you check and let me know if I've made any errors? ..."Everything is right for me and my trades. Thanks!

I haven't been editing any past posts so no need to look back for me.

I rolled for a 4th time. I rolled a 36 putting me on 23 = Indiana Avenue – Read a book that’s hopefully a hidden gem, one that’s been overlooked, but you’ve discovered it by accident or research or a referral. going to keep with a referral of 48,172 ratings
Dealing with Dragons,Patricia C. Wrede
Tasha wrote: "Just a quick add to the spreadsheet in round 4 my name should have in brackets round 3"Thanks, Tasha - I had a feeling I'd missed out a set of brackets.
My round 1 is a YA reading The Fault in Our StarsRound 2 Book with food in it-Blackberry Wine
Round 3- historical fiction-Euphoria
I rolled a 31 sending me to task 35 = Short Line – Read a book between 150 and 200 pages long. I am reading a book for this task in another round. Can I do this task twice, or do I have to roll again? This would be my 11th round.
I've rolled for round 9. Came up with 22 which lands me on 25 = The Tenth Doctor’s Tardis (Doctor Who) – A long time favorite! I wish my cable company carried BBC America, but my PBS station shows the episodes eventually. Read a science fiction fantasy book. And watch a few episodes if you get a chance.I'm keeping it (though if anyone wants it, I'm open to trading) and reading Star Guard by Andre Norton
And I've rolled a 10 for Round Ten. Which takes me to 35 = Short Line – Read a book between 150 and 200 pages long.I'm keeping this and reading Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
I've found one for my task in round 1:Verborgen gebreken. It is a book by a dutch writer. It takes place in Northern Scotland. I've been to Edinburgh and a few places near Edinburgh, but never further north. I'd love to go there, sometimes!
Hi Gail I think you missed my post for the 4th roll here it is againI rolled for a 4th time. I rolled a 36 putting me on 23 = Indiana Avenue – Read a book that’s hopefully a hidden gem, one that’s been overlooked, but you’ve discovered it by accident or research or a referral.

Ah, thanks, Tasha - not quite sure what happened there. I'd put in your roll and task, but not your book chioce. I've completed it now.
Rebecca wrote: "I rolled a 31 sending me to task 35 = Short Line – Read a book between 150 and 200 pages long. I am reading a book for this task in another round. Can I do this task twice, or do I have to roll ag..."Thanks. I'll keep it then.
My 12th roll was 21,sending me to space 16 = Tumblr (Social Media Edition) – People are convinced that everyone else wants to know what they’re doing and what they’re thinking about. Read a book that’s in essay, diary, letter, e-mail, or blog format. I will read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society for this.
Gail wrote: "Hi all - trying to get all this added to the spreadsheet. Marnie, what number was your third roll?"It was a 24 ( I had to recount because I knew my genre but forgot the number.
Thanks, Marnie. :-)Please, can everyone check the spreadsheet and let me know if I've got your tasks correctly recorded. Thanks.
