And why aren’t you pitching this to Big Finish NOW? I’d buy it!

I feel I'd be well suited to sit in an office at BF, watching old episodes and writing down lists of potential spin-offs.Have to send Mr. Briggs my resume!
to distract from the tornado watch , another what if...If you could pick a different Doctor to be exiled to Earth and become UNIT's scientific advisor, which one?
My list:
Pertwee's outfit.
Obvious first choice is the time lords don't force Doctor #2 to regenerate and we get to see the Troughton Doctor vs the Delgado Master!
#6: He and the Brig would be fun and I can see Colin Baker looking sharp in Pertwee's coat.
11: the Matt Smith Doctor couldn't being stuck on earth for one afternoon, it'd be fun watching him getting all manic and antsy.

Interesting question ...
I'd say the one who'd really would be able to handle being stuck on Earth might Seven, if only for a short time. Nine, not so much.
"Pertwee's outfit"
😂
I can see it now:
Lush red velvet jacket, dark trousers, and highly polished boots running up and down corridors ... On their own, of course.

Hmm, did you know that Big Finish is doing a new series with Eight titled Stranded? No UNIT in sight (yet), but the “Curator” has shown up ... One has already been stranded on earth, in early 1960s, with Susan - we just didn’t get to see it.
Two would outrageous, as you said. I’d love that! As long Jamie is there.
Five with Adric, Nyssa & Tegan might be fun. But it’s s group dynamic or nothing.
Nine? Nah.
Ten, I’m always up for any thing with Ten.
Twelve? YES, I’d love see more 12 with any era of UNIT, sonic sunglasses and a guitar! Twelve ROCKS!
Just listened to the trailer for Stranded.Fun idea, Trailer sounds overly serious and dark.
Would love to hear/see/write a series set pre-unearthly Child with #1 and Susan in space and then trying to build a life in 60's Earth.

Just caught that Pertwee's outfit typo...stupid technology...!
had typed a sentence about if whoever was picked would end up wearing their own costume or Pertwee's.
But, my laptop hates me.
Wheel in space: Finished!Man, that was really good!
If it had been animated, rather than tele-snaps, it would rank higher on my fave stories list.
Definitely want a BF spin-off with Zoey!
What is up with flinging Cybermen off into space?
That happens like four times, there must be hundreds of Cybermen just drifting through space.
🙀😺😻😻😻 Big Finish just announced that Christopher Eccleston will be returning to play the Doctor next year! FANTASTIC!

So, the first chapter of the Destiny of the Doctor: The Complete Series Box Set, Doctor Who: Hunters of Earth, features the Doctor and Susan on Earth BEFORE the events of The Unearthly Child. So, you’re still batting ... well, clearly you’re still thinking along the same lines as Big Finish.

Nick Briggs and I obviously think alike.
The big difference, is he gets paid to be a fanboy.

Happy dance!!!
BF needs to do a series where they pair a new Doctor with a classic.
I know they have the 4th and 10th meeting, but they need to do it with everybody!

That would be awesome! Throw in David Bradley (as Hartnell) and you’d have the triumvirate of bad temperament. 😹😹😹

and of course, they'd end up trading coats!
To commemorate wrapping up the Troughton and Pertwee eras during my massive rewatch, I'm rewatching the Three Doctors. So good!
Wait ... what ... you ... you’re not watching in chronological order! 😳 WHAT CRAZED MADNESS IS THIS!?
I'm a rebel, I don't play by societies rules...and I've had to jump around depending on what was available. So, I started in order, but then had to wait for reconstructions etc.
I’ve gotten up to The Macra Terror in my most recent binge. Which is as far as I currently unbroken episodes either on DVD or on CD for those that have been lost to space & time. I’ve gotten everything except:
035 The Faceless Ones (6): 2, 4, 5, 6 (S4, PTs1)
036 The Evil of the Daleks (7): 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (S4, PTs1)
038 The Abominable Snowmen (6): 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 (S5, PTs2)
042 Fury From the Deep (6): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (S5, PTs2)
043 The Wheel in Space (6): 1, 2, 4, 5 (S5, PTs2)
049 The Space Pirates (6): 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 (S6, PTs3)
105 City of Death (S17, TBs6)
And the Patrick Troughton episodes are all lost, I’m waiting for them to rerelease the audio CD sets. Vol. 4 is supposed to be coming out again early next year. And the Tom Baker arc I’ve tried to get a couple times and I keep getting screwed over in one way or another. One of these days it will either get rereleased or I’ll find an affordable price for it in reasonable used condition.
Watched Wheel in space, the rest of that list is in limbo.I'll watch the animated reconstructions, but don't do the just audio versions and don't love the tele snaps.
I know Macra and Faceless ones got animated, but I'm holding off buying DVDs, as I love Who, but don't need to own every story.
It’s my “collectors obsession” like Pokémon - gotta get them all. I’ve listened too Wheel in Space on Britbox and I’ve seen City of Death before as well. Just don’t own them yet.
I hear you.Just my book and comic obsession keeps my movie and action figure obsession under control, cause I only have so many shelves.
I want to watch every Who, just don't feel the need to own every one.
My plan is to own every Doctor's first and final story, with a few of my faves in-between.
Travis wrote: "... My plan is to own every Doctor's first and final story, with a few of my faves in-between. “Okay, so ... exactly how I got started. Seriously.
And I was only going to get Paul McGann’s audios from Big Finish, and then they did Doctor Who: The War Doctor: Only the Monstrous & Doctor Who: The War Doctor: Infernal Devices & Doctor Who: The War Doctor: Casualties of War & Doctor Who: The War Doctor: Agents of Chaos with John Hurt and I HAD to get those. And then ... and then ... Hello, my name is Rick and I’m addicted to Doctor Who.
Yeah, I'm aware it's a slippery slope.Luckily, my comic book addiction uses up so much of my petty cash.

::In Monotone:: Hi Rick.
::Group Discussion Therapist:: The first step is admitting you have a problem.
I completely understand! It's soooo easy to go overboard. Happily, there are a number of BF audios available on Hoopla, though not the most recent stuff.

Problem? I don’t have problem. No, no problem here. No, none at all. Nope. Nada. Don’t know what you’re talking about. Easy to go overboard? I fell off the ship so long ago, I can’t even remember what the name of it was.

'What problem...?" he asked, perched atop a massive tower of comic book long boxes and sci-fi paperbacks.
Yep that would be me. One of my best friends has refused to help me move (if I ever do) because of how many books and comic books I have. 🤷🏻♂️I mean, I have no spouse, no kids. It’s just me. Don’t even have anyone I need to leave something with when I die. I can’t take it with me ... 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
A podcast I follow is doing a rewatch of the original Outer Limits TV show, so after I finish the Pertwee era, there may be a break, as I'll be checking that out.Yeah, I'm taking a break from an old sci-fi TV show by watching...an old sci-fi TV show.
Sounds like you’ve taken your first step into a dimension of dreams, of endless reruns. Welcome to my domain, there’s the signpost up ahead, you’ve just entered The Twilight Zone
Never a huge Twilight Zone fan.Used to watch the reruns as my brother was a fan.
Some episodes I like, but it generally creeped me out.
The Outer Limits felt like I was watching old sci-fi movies. It went lighter on the moralizing.
Oh, so you prefer surrendering control of your entertainment? As in: There is nothing wrong with your TV. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We control the transmission. We control the volume. We control the horizontal. We control the vertical. We can roll the image, or make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and attentive, we will control all that you see and hear. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits.😹😼
I love both shows, although I haven’t seen classic Outer Limits in decades. I own all of the classic Twilight Zone seasons. I’ll get around to Outer Limits sooner or later.
Not meaning to stir anything up...is there a big Twilight zone/outer limits feud...?I've watched both, but prefer Outer Limits, as it never freaked me out, the wayTwilight zone did.
Fun rewatching, as I haven't seen it in decades. Some episodes, are vivid memories, but a lot are not.
Not that I know of. I just liked TZ more as a kid, but that may have had more to do with it being shown every afternoon on TV when I got home from school. OL I didn’t get to see as often. And to be honest, I doubt I’ve seen all the episodes of the original OL. I do have all the themed sets of the new series of OL on disc, but not complete seasons. I keep meaning to get the original OL from the library, but there’s always something else that gets ahead of it the queue.
Wasn't sure if I'd stumbled into something: like the Star Trek vs Star Wars people or an East Coast/West Coast rap thing. These things can get brutal.
I was around for the DC vs Marvel battles of the 90's...I still wake up in a sweat...
I like both Star Trek and Star Wars. I like both Space 1999 and Doctor Who.
I like both Firefly and Farscape.
I like both Lost in Space and the Planet of the Apes.
I like both Castle Rock and American Horror Story.
I like both Seaquest DSV and Sliders.
I like both Speed Racer and Jonny Quest.
I like both Stranger Things and IT.
I like both the Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits.
I like both Big Hero 6 and the Incredibles.
I like both Doc Savage and The Shadow.
I like both The Avenger and The Spider.
I like both Tarzan and Mowgli, for that matter I like both The Jungle Book and Mowgli ...
I could go on ...
As for Marvel vs DC? With a few exceptions ... “Hello, my name is Rick and I am a Marvel zombie.” But I also pledge my allegiance to my sovereign, Jack “the King” Kirby and I am a self-admitted (John) “Byrne-victim.”
Rick wrote: "I like both Doc Savage and The Shadow."
I strongly suspect, but have no proof that, like Batman, Doctor Strange was inspired, and/or influenced, by The Shadow. The Shadow was the first character magazine of its kind and inspired quite a number of comic book characters as well as a rival magazine called The Spider, among others.

Batman is definitely half Shadow/ half Zorro.
Never thought about the Shadow influencing Doctor Strange.
Interesting and makes a lot of sense.
