Appreciate the link.
While I'm sad to have lost the chance, my writing 'to do' list is almost as packed as my reading 'to do' list.
May give it a try down the road, but I'm involved in, and behind on, a comic book based fanfic site, as well as doing stories for a couple small press publishers.

I will let Travis have that. I’m having enough trouble with Big Finish, my bank account AND my collector’s obsession; I don’t need to add fan fiction to it as well.

Arrrgggh!
I clicked on the link.
Shouldn't have. Now, I'm tempted.
Gonna end up digging up my fanfic notes...

😹😹😹

Shame they didn't do more with the Sontarion/Rutan war.

I was thinking they showed up in Sarah Jane Adventures at some point. But I’ve only been through that series once, so I’m probably mistaken.

Nope.
Lots of Sontarions, but Rutans only ever get mentioned.
Shame, so much potential there.

Still, we get the nice console room redesign, great action scenes, a megalomaniac shrimp and K-9!!!
Love the space hospital setting and cast. Be a great BF spin-off, do a prequel with Professor Marius and K-9 in a sci-fi medical drama.

Yeah, that would be neat. Did they form in the wake of the Time War? Or, was there some other catalyst involved?

Time Agents actually get mentioned in a Tom Baker episode, but we never actually see one until new Who.

Yes, yes, yes.
Although, Marvel is beating them to it with the TVA (Time Variance Authority) appearing in the new series Loki. Just saying ...

Now, I'm noticing how good the cast is and the chemistry between Leela and the Doctor.
And Benidict Cumberbatch's Mom!

She was also on UFO
Good actress and quite the babe.

Now you’re gonna make me dig out my UFO set? Argh! I’ve still got to rewatch The Prisoner, the second year of Space: 1999 and so much other stuff. My pile of rewatch is getting larger faster than I can get to it. (This just means I’ve got too many TV shows on disc.)

Good cast saves it.
A doctor who podcast I listen to is doing a rewatch of UFO and I've been watching along.
It's been fun.
I think afterwards they want to do either the prisoner or space 1999.

There was a different order that I found to watch them in, that makes them a bit more ... cohesive, maybe.

I've heard that, but for me it's not episode order, as much, as the show just doesn't explain stuff terribly well.
We never get a solid reason why the aliens are doing this.
Where are they from?
Have we actuallyever seen an alien or are the 'people' we see just converted/enslaved human captives.
Neither side makes any effort to talk to each other.
Shado isn't quite Torchwood level bad at their jobs, but there are a couple times, where they don't ask basic questions or take basic precautions.
Isome good actors and set pieces and I love seeing what life was like in the far off year of 1980, but I get why it isn't more well known

Shame we never got season 2, as there were some great later episodes and some hints that they could have built on.

Yep, agreed. But instead we got the first season of Space: 1999. So it wasn’t all bad. 😼

Part of the fun of the Anderson-verse, was we got a whole bunch of short lived cool shows, rather then one big, enduring franchise.

Now, I'm noticing how good the cast is and the chemistry between Leela and the Doctor.
And Benidict Cumberbatch's Mom!"
Wait...what?? So the one who gets taken over by the Fendahl, that's Sherlock's mom? Wow! I didn't know that. I learn so much from you guys! You take my Dr. Who and general sci-fi nerd-dom to a whole new level, for which I'm exceedingly grateful! Now I can't wait to share that with my husband and our 4 adult kids who grew up watching the doctor along with us!
I've never been to a Comic-Con, but husband and 2 of our sons used to go, back when the boys still lived here. One son got to meet Peter Davisson. He walked up to him, started to jabber, and told him, "Wow! I grew up watching you! You rock!" The 5th doctor was nice enough to just smile and shake his hand.

Okay, you do realize I’m a HUGE Space: 1999 fan? And that there was a time, in the late 70s before Star Trek: The Motion Picture hit the big screen in 1979, that the fans of Star Trek and Space: 1999 were really about evenly divided and fanatical? There had been a long hard push for about 2 years trying to get ITC to bring Space: 1999 back. We were a determined bunch. Once the Star Trek films succeeded, and then the arrival of The Next Generation we knew it was over. And the rise of the Sith Lords didn’t help matters either. Between Star Wars and Star Trek the gothic sci-if world of Space: 1999 just couldn’t keep up. It was just too “out there” for most American audiences. But we were a dedicated and loyal bunch. Until the years, and the mileage, crippled us.
The best thing about the Space: 1999 conventions were that they were run as a non-profit, with any proceeds going to local Children’s Hospitals. So the actors and professional guests would more often than not donate their time at the conventions, as long as the convention itself would cover travel expenses, room and board. And it’s a totally different feel, when the guests don’t have attendance fees or autograph fees. But that model of convention is sadly long gone. Capitalism killed that as well. I met a lot of really wonderful people at those Space: 1999 conventions.

I have no practical knowledge, but if you want to know about Doctor Who or comic books, I'm your guy.
I do miss going to cons.
Never went to any of the huge ones, and my only Who related story is seeing John Barrowman, but my wife and I always had a good time.
My wife and I were talking about going to Chicago Tardis, and then the world fell apart.

A friend and I went to ChicagoTARDIS several years ago and enjoyed it very much. It was, in a lot of ways, more laid back than Gallifrey One's been in a long time (since the popularity of the program exploded).
The first Gallifrey One I attended, when Paul McGann came the first time, was a little over 800 people which made getting signatures actually doable, unlike the last time I went when I stood in line for nearly two hours before they called a halt to signatures for the day. On the upside of that, I met an Australian who was on her way to Roswell, NM to visit the UFO Museum and other UFO sites before heading home. We had a fascinating conversation about weird things in the sky and odd lights dancing in the night. I hope she wasn't too disappointed by her visit.
I'm not a fan of huge cons myself. I prefer the regional cons which can hover between 600-800 people, depending on the year, etc. Our own local convention, Bubonicon, has grown significantly since I first started going in the 90s, but is still a manageable 700+.
The largest con I've been to was Worldcon in Glasgow, Scotland in 2005. Attendance was over 5,000 people, if I remember correctly.

I think the largest con I’ve attended was probably Gen-Con in Indianapolis about 10 years back. Of course there’s also conferences for work, but library conferences don’t really get all that big. And work stuff doesn’t really count does it? Of course, I was sort of working at Gen-Con as well, doing interviews and such for a podcast I used to be involved with. Sigh. Those were the days.

Damn HYDRA. I blame it all on HYDRA."

On my list of things I miss in 2020, cons were right up there.
My wife and I have had so much fun getting back into con culture and despite not going to any huge ones, have had some really good interactions with a couple famous folk.
Plus, give me some boxes of cheap comics and just let me search through them and I reach a zen state of contentment.

Good story, good cast, sly sense off humor, both Leela and K-9 get plenty to do and I can't believe those aliens never came back.

Great design, good cast, but it feels like a cut and paste of previous scripts.
The big bad is obvious and really weak.
Everybody sounds good, nice interaction between the Doctor, Leela, K-9 and the Minoan crew, but it all feels very been there done that, but in a better story.

Aaaaarrrrrrgh!
Hate when they do that!

That's why I like omnibuses.
That's why I like omnibuses.

After years and years (ha! Band reference! 😼) of buying individual issues, I’ve finally decided it’s better to wait for the trades. It’s a mindset that I fought against for decades.
And now I’ve carried it over to TV shows. I now prefer to wait for disc release instead of watching week by week.

Some stuff I get in collections, but still like going to my LCS on new comic day and occasionally prowling the back issue boxes.

Very happy with it.

(And, yes, technically either Black Panther or Shang-Chi would be more accurately my favorite Avenger, but let’s just say ‘favorite classic Avenger’ and leave it at that. Okay?)

And gets marvel to fix how badly they've been treated in the comics for the past 20 years.

Agreed. There are so many stories that Marvel has done that are just narrative crutches for unimaginative writers ... like Avengers: Disassembled, Avengers #200 (I mean, what were they thinking?!🙀) and the whole Peter-makes-a-deal-with-Mephisto-to-end-his-marriage-with-Mary-Jane. But some of the crap they’ve piled on Wanda and Vision has been appalling.

Civil war the movie shows you how miserably horrible civil war the comic is.
The MCU took a comic I hate and turned it into a movie I love.

Part of why I, regretfully, I have resisted BF, is there's just so much stuff.
Sad, that that counts on as a complaint, but I just don't have the space for 212 CDs and my only CD player is in my car.
