Aditya | 21 comments Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

Finished Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. I did not imagine a book about war and insanity could be so entertaining. Easily the funniest book I have read. It has become one of my favorites, so check out my review if you have the time. 5/5

Visalakshi (vishu-potter) | 231 comments I'm reading 1984 . It's moving little slow for me , not able to read continuously.

I had finished It Ends With Us and It Starts With Us few weeks back. Those were quick to read but I found them somewhat predictable.
I also read another book, a biography. I usually avoid non fiction but this book was about my school teacher, so I gave it a go! It was nice to read and know more about her. It's called THE LADY WITH THE MAGIC LAMP: The Real Life Story of a National Awardee

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments I've just finished J.D. Robb's Encore in Death. its the 58th part of the InDeath series. and man, did she nail it. Brilliant. Great plot development, and so are the characters. Definitely recommended

Bookworm (have loads of catching up to do) | 1001 comments @Mods, what happened to botm? It's happening?

I just completed reading No One Writes Back. I found it beautiful.

Please check out the blurb, see if you fancy it.
I personally think it's underrated and would highly recommend it!

message 1214: by Prajakta (new)

Prajakta Bakare Pilivkar | 95 comments Reading: Assassin's Apprentice- Robin Hobb.

I am on chapter 10 and so far I like the pace and writing style. Anyone here has finished or is working through her books? I have only finished the Potter and GOT series so far. It is difficult to keep me in the same world for long....

I am also concurrently reading Anne of Green Gables and Series of Unfortunate Events series for a change.

Happy Reading!!

message 1215: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Assassin's Apprentice is about 80% as good as Order of the Phoenix, for me that is.

I read AA a year ago and gave it 5 stars. I didn't like the sequel, Royal assassin. But most people like what doesn't work for me so you'll be fine in the hands of Robin Hobb.

This is one of my favorite fantasy world. Something which holds a great reread value. Protagonist in the first trilogy (well, he is the one in two more trilogies) really tests you patience but as the time went by, he really won me over. Or should I say Hobb won me over. I am a huge fan of her Realm of the Elderling world and I recommend this to everyone who seems to be interested in Fantasy. Even if you feel little frustrated at times in the first trilogy (that is my opinion as my friends loved it/him), just don't give up. It is a really rewarding world. :)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments Reading Pitch Perfect by Sierra Dean. Sports romance as a tribute to Super Bowl Sunday. it has a female athlete as a main character and so curious.
The Wedding Party - Purple cover as a tribute to Mardi Gras celebration.

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) If you read an Irish author, you're good to go, they had practically a similar status during the 20th century :/
