Leena , the BOTM is The Dutch House by Ann Patchett . This is a new author for me . I have no idea what kind of books she writes . If you are planning to join the group read , I wish you Happy Reading 😊 !

Leena , I, myself , will not be able to join in the discussion for The Dutch House because I am reading The Goldfinch ( in the tome thread ) and To Kill a Mockingbird ( Buddy Read in another group ) . I think The Dutch House will be lead by The Wanderer ( member ) . I don't know who else is planning to join in the discussion . Anyway , Happy Reading , Leena 😊 !

I took a detour and read the sweetest romance novella- Always a Bridesmaid: The Bridesmaids Series. Shes really nailed it. Definitely recommended 👌

I know the feeling of reading an obtuse book so I'd say that it was brave of you to finish this one. I cannot bear a bad book. It depresses me. Glad you liked the novella.

These Silent Woods seems terrible ! Glad you enjoyed the novella !

Oh , Jane Eyre is a beautiful novel !

also reading Funny You Should Ask also sounds promising.
I'm hoping to have struck gold this week.

this is beautiful and so true. our memories are coloured with our present thoughts.

Hello Luffy, I most definitely intend to be here for good. Thank you so much for responding!

Hello Leena, Thank you so much for welcoming me:) I have read about 40% of the book so far. I must see I did judge this book by its cover and have not been disappointed at all. The book is about a 12 year old Calpurnia from Texas in 1899 who starts to hang out with her Granddad who is now a Naturalist. It is written for younger readers. She is the only girl among 7 siblings. Chapter 1 ends with "Thus began my relationship with Granddaddy." I am hooked!!

I am currently reading Corelli's Mandolin and The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy.
Finished The Name of the Rose and Marina previously. Both are worth recommending.

Oh. Leena, I haven't read much lately. So I couldn't think of any book characters. My mind went blank. Haha

Corelli's Mandolin is an interesting one, at least when I read it (which must be about 15 years ago. It was titled 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' then.) How's it going for you? :)

What you people think of a book to movie challenge next month? I have been thinking about this and wanted to share/ask about it here to if people are interested.

Sounds good. Do we have to nominate books that have been made into movies?
One way is that each participant will nominate four books (200-500) and everyone will try to read as many as possible from that set list.
Second way is to read whatever you want as long as its been adapted into a movie.
We can do it individually or teams too.

Good idea! I have been happy with nonfiction, will have to test the waters and find if I can read fiction again. Look forward to the lists, and to squeeze my own choices in.

Mainly purple prose under the façade of a fantastical plot. Utterly disappointed. I expected a lot more from this author.

I am new to this group but I will join in. I am planning to read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest next month, so I would definitely nominate that one.

I'm in, depending on the book. If it is already on my TBR, better. :)
