The Hiding Place by C.J. Tudor.
This sophomore effort has thus far exceeded her first book by leaps and bounds. I'm about 60% through and want to keep going, but i really need to get to bed. But this book is building the tension and mystery steadily throughout and making me not want to put it down. First book in awhile that's done that for me.

LOVE me some McDowell. Enjoy!

Now I'm reading House of Leaves. It's been a little difficult to figure out the writing style at the beginning.

Sadie"
Katie and her hammer! I loved that book. Hope you do too, JaeRavenClaw!

Yeah, HOL is a real challenge. I hope it pays off for you, Scott!

I most certainly am. Mcdowell is becoming a favorite author for horror for me. I loved Gilded Needles and have The Elementals as a next read.

I am starting a re-read of Straub's Ghost Story. We have a buddy read going on, so everyone is welcome to join us. :)

A while back I read Laura and The Horizontal Man and enjoyed both (Laura a bit more than the other) and now I'm not quite a third into In a Lonely Place, which is quite good so far.

Good, no? I re-read it earlier this year.
I am on a Clive Barker kick and re-reading Sacrament right now.

That's one of my favorite classic horror tales. It's full of creepy atmosphere."
it was good..but I prefer The Wendigo ..

Just started The Cedar Cage and I'm also reading/listening to The Retreat
