It was good that you got to both enjoy the same series and love chatting about them. So although it will be sad to read a new 'Bertie' in the future you'll always have those nice memories.

Carolyn | 9836 comments I've finished my first book for November. I took it with me to read on the train today on the way to catch up with some friends for lunch and it was such a quick, fun read that I finished it over a cup of tea after I got home.

Thanks, Patty. Yes I'm hoping she's already read it up there: maybe she inspired bits of my review...

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments Thanks to NetGalley and Text Publishing for Cold Fear, the second book in Mads Peder Nordbo's Greenland series. It's bloodthirsty with a high body count, excellent Scandi noir, but do read The Girl Without Skin first if you want to avoid spoilers.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments Peace, the second book featuring Constable Paul Hirschhausen, clearly demonstrates Aussie author, Garry Disher’s indisputable talent for rural noir. It can be read as a stand-alone, but why deny yourself the pleasure of reading Hirsch’s first outing, Bitter Wash Road. A big 5 ★s from me, and fingers crossed for more Hirsch, please!

I haven't read this author, but from what I've heard she's very hot and cold Kylie. Bad luck you were disappointed in this one :(

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 2304 comments Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan was rather dull for what I was expecting, and I suspect this may be one of those rare times the movie is better than the book? Though I'm yet to see it.
