Holden Sheppard is an award-winning author born and bred in Geraldton, Western Australia. His coming-of-age novel INVISIBLE BOYS (Fremantle Press, 2019) won several accolades including the 2018 City of Fremantle Hungerford Award. In 2020, INVISIBLE BOYS was shortlisted for the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards and named as a Notable Book by the Children's Book Council of Australia.

Holden's novella POSTER BOY won the 2018 Novella Project competition and was published in Griffith Review. His other writing has been published in Westerly, page seventeen, Indigo Journal, 10 Daily, the Huffington Post, and the Bright Lights, No City anthology. Congrats on becoming a writer, too. No, I can't say I've ever hated Gero, to be honest! I always had huge affection for the town, even though I moved to the big smoke once I was old enough to. It wasn't easy for me growing up gay and closeted there but the town itself is beautiful and I love the vibe, the people, the laid back essence of it all. I do think growing up in a small town made me hungrier and more dogged to chase my dreams, because it seems implausible that a Gero boy would ever make it as an author - so it drove me to work exceptionally hard to make it come true! :)(less)
