Just finished Elevator Pitch by Linwood Barclay.

The book description claims the novel will do for elevators as Jaws did for sharks and Psycho did for showers and it will certainly make me think about living more than a few floors off the ground.

Colson Whitehead’s new historical fiction is only barely fiction, and it is infuriating! Even the worst of The Nickel Boys deserved better than the slavery that passed for a reform school.

Mark Haddon‘s latest novel, The Porpoise, is quite a departure from his earlier works, and may well polarise readers. He’s no doubt best known for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and this one is quite different but I loved it!

I was glad that my library had a copy of How Not to Die Alone by British author, Richard Roper. It has been compared to Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and I certainly enjoyed it just as much. Poignant and funny, an outstanding debut.
