Fixed it thanks Brenda! I realised it was missing as soon as I posted it.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I just enjoyed another trip to Prague in A Second Death by Graham Brack, featuring my favourite Czech detective, Josef Slonský, and his police 'family'. The crimes are nasty, but the people are great!

Andrea | 2163 comments Unfortunately Katherine Boland's memoir Hippy Days, Arabian Nights didn't deliver what I was looking for, but it was an ok read.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I had already read a hardcover version of the 2nd installment of the Paul Stuart series by Alexander McCall Smith, The Second Worst Restaurant in France, but when I saw the library had it on Borrowbox, I decided I would like to listen to it in the car and while walking around, putting out the washing etc. The audio version The Second Worst Restaurant in France is narrated by Sir Timothy Ackroyd, and he does an excellent job. In fact, I think I liked it more for having it read to be with Scottish and French accents.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments Like Marianne, I enjoy Alexander McCall Smith. I enjoyed a change of mystery pace with his second book in the #1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, Tears of the Giraffe. Warm, funny characters in warm, sunny Botswana. (Some dodgy people, too. It IS a detective agency.)

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I thought I'd revisit James Bond in Ian Fleming's first Bond adventure, Casino Royale. The rakish spy may have done OK with SMERSH, but he wouldn't have survived #MeToo.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments Thanks to Transit Lounge Publishing for Aussie author Philip Salom’s latest novel, The Returns . I love this cover, and the contents are pretty good too. Two quirky protagonists who end up sharing a house. Lots of understated humour, perceptive observations of life, and a brilliant final scene. This one is out 1st August.
5★s from me.
