Too funny! I think STARZ (cable) is going to rack up by having Outlander. I know there have to be a lot of fans just waiting for the next one like all of us. I know I only added STARZ back to my package for Outlander.

I've just finished Episode 5:)here are my thoughts, at least some of them:)
Ness (Caskett-fan) | 24 comments I just love the show more with every episode. Perhaps some don't like the added scenes or the omitted ones but if you read some of the books or even only the this one you feel Mr. Moore preparing for so many things. It is amazing that even with so much added things I don't feel the book has lost its character. I suspect his intense work with DG garaties that.
I LOVEd how Jamie looked at Claire when she gave him the blanket. His gaze was trying to look at all of her at once:) and not to forget the smolder:) His shock was sop sweet about her suggestion that he sleeps in her room.
The everyday scenes are very fascinating , they help me envision the book much better..
I was suprised at first when I knew the rent would take awhole episode but presenting Dougal like this is very important for the rest of the book and the story.
Gaelic subtitles would be awesome!
I laughed at the scene when they defended her honour, like a family I can talk bad about my sister but nobody else can:)))
how far are you guys in book 2? I've just finished the first, took so long because I reread many passages so many times:)
I have finished my re-read of book 2I agree with all of your comments on episode 5. I am a little concerned with the change to how Claire meets Lieutenant Foster and where they might be going with that next week. I am hoping the preview of the next episode includes a flashback not what happens.

I'm only 1/2 way through Dragonfly. I have to divide my reading time with some other books, BRs, etc., so it is taking me longer than the first one. I'm okay with that - I will work my way through them all.

I agree, Ness...the everyday scenes just set the tone of the show. It is so very real & then the characters/actors really cement it. It's like stepping back in time. I am very happy with the series thus far.
I know right? I did think for a minute Ron Moore was trying to make me like Black Jack more than I should...then he hit her...
They changed up the meeting just enough for me not to be certain what was coming...probably on purpose. I bet Ron Moore was like "oh no, the fans know it too well, let me through in a couple curve balls". Lol that whole episode was intense. I am really glad the whipping turned out to be a flashback. I did think it would be Jamie's though. Whew...based on how graphic the whipping was...the rape is going to be hellish to watch.
He's not holding anything back. And I think you're right about Moore's strategy. He caught me flat footed.
It's pretty extraordinary how Dougal's character is handled. I honestly loved him tonight when last week I was ready to throttle him.
Me too! I really love the end where all the me are just waiting for her answer and she comes back and takes the bottle. Lol.
Jonetta wrote: "It's pretty extraordinary how Dougal's character is handled. I honestly loved him tonight when last week I was ready to throttle him."But then I felt that way throughout the books as well. I have such a love/hate relationship with him. I really started hating him when (view spoiler)
And that's the conundrum. He's such an enigma and he definitely seems to have a love/hate relationship with Jamie.
Dawn wrote: "Oh absolutely. Her acting during the punch/kicking session really stood out."
I felt that punch. Her depiction was realistic.

All the way to the end...I think both he and Jamie have that confusing relationship. The family love VS the greed of Lairdship.
One of the most intense shows I've watched...I began to flinch with every strike on Jamie's back. That was horrific. But we got those famous words last night...You don't care that I'm not a virgin? Not if you don't care that I am? OMG...give me next week NOW!
That flogging was horrible. For that sicko to describe it as beautiful was almost as hard to hear.
Yea...they are doing sound effects really well. When Black Jack said they were making a masterpiece I might have actually shuddered.
I've got to give Tobias credit. He's acting his butt off. It's easy to portray evil people most times but to do it in such a visceral way is extraordinary. He shows it in such an understated way but it actually comes up through his skin and subtly in his eyes. He's chilling and when you contrast it with his portrayal of Frank, you get his range. They may look alike but you very much see two distinctly different characters. I no longer see a resemblance to Frank. He's that good.
I've still to watch the episode but Diana posted trhe trailer for next week !!! OH my god this is gonna be fanfreakingtastic :DDD oh guys please watch so I can gush about it:DDD
here is it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCRkD...
and these are the comments of Sam and Caitriona about episode 6:)
http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/outla...
I saw it last night & I agree it went to fast. Thanks for posting it here so we can watch it over & over & over & over...well, so we can see it again! ;)
Sandra I know what you mean..It was so funny in Fb when someone posted to Diana: " How many times can one watch this without seeming.... obsessive?"well I totally embrace the obsession:)
I embrace it also!! Bring it on! Actually, there are very few television shows that I watch...just don't have the time for it & I'd rather read during what little spare time I have BUT...come Saturday night at 9:00, I am in front of that TV waiting!! I will miss it after these next 2 episodes. :(
I know what you mean...I really am in a state of confusion. I really want to see the next episode NOW...but I really really do not want the break. I have not seen anything about when it will air next year either.
I'm just going to soak it up while I can! Not worry about it...I'm keep good thoughts that it will happen early next year.
They are being really mum about the 2015 schedule. I have a feeling they're scrambling to figure out how to drag this out longer next year. I hope so as I want to know when the next season's schedule will start (it better not be in September):)
I don't want to think about either..The start of the serie was quite different from the "standard" schedule..but if they want to join the normal one it would be in February after the new years break ( January is less probable) or end of April or May for the midseason startdates.
I've just watched epsode 6 yesterday..this episode is so intense!! Tobias was BRILLIANT!!! I expect him to be nominated for many awards!! Claire' and BJ' exchange, how even that we know the book they managed to surprise us, the flogging scene, Jamies back, just waw !! I was pressing my knuckles to my mouth and just making weird sounds but COULDN'T look away.I am sad when I think we only have two left but fuck I can't wait for next week!
Intense was my thoughts exactly! And I also think Claire is brilliant in this. She is nailing these scenes. The looks on her face, her body language - perfect.
